You can always lower your BP by breathing deeply and slowly in and out. What I have found is I don’t breathe, I just inhale. I have to stop when I remember and just take deep breaths.

@ hazel coate…….reduce carbs, healthy Keto helped me, plenty of veggies too, it’s due to inflammation, cereals and bread which are grains aren’t good and stick with healthy oils. We shouldn’t be afraid of a bit of fish and meat in moderation and don’t be scared of fat, our brains and every cell in our body needs it. Also sea salt is good for us. I feel so unwell without a bit of fish or meat, I don’t get all my B’s etc and amino acids otherwise. I feel home made non processed foods are the best. By the way plant milks have been proven to be less healthy than dairy….they just pour water over the oats for example and add vitamins which aren’t natural…..it’s really difficult as I’m dairy intolerant. To get calcium, leafy greens are good and B’s are in brewers yeast. I eat tinned fish for calcium as you can eat the small bones for the calcium. I also take d3 with k2.
@@angelataylor2049 keto dieters are morons. Carbs have nothing to do with high blood pressure. They also have no more impact on weight gain than any other food. You gain weight depending on how many calories you eat. It does not matter if the source of calories is sugar or fat. Anti carb zealots are twits. Almost everything they say is bogus.
@@donwinston I lost 50 lbs on the healthy Keto diet, I was insulin resistant and I came off blood pressure tablets,,,,,,,not everyone can tolerate a high carb diet, with me I think it was the processed stuff especially and the cereals, pasta and bread, fries etc. when I say Keto I don’t mean just meat….healthy Keto isn’t just meat…I know it’s important to have a varied diet and vegetarianism isn’t the answer! Do your research!
EXERCISE!!!! If BP stays high even on WFPB low sodium diet, just add some aerobic exercise. If I don't do this 3 times per week for at least a half hour, and really get my HR up for 20 minutes of that, my BP creeps right back up, even on WFPB. It's not 100% diet. Mostly, but you need to get that heart rate up regularly and keep it up for 20 min.
When one caller said 106/70 you said excellent, why the pulse rate was not asked. If on the Blood pressure measurement if pulse rate is 50 for elder is it ok or not. If not how we can increase pulse rate. Does blood pressure medicine decrease pulse rate too. Awaiting eagerly a reply
It's all about Portion Control.... Salt Fat even Sugar are all bad when "Over consumed" if consumed in moderation they can be part of a "Normal" diet. Of course eat more Whole foods which are better than anything that comes out of a Box, Shop, and make your own meals of Meats, fish and Vegetables.
We really seem to bash table salt here…. But I can see why - there is so much salt added to EVERYTHING in a box or packet these days that we are having waaaay to much. If one prepares one’s food only at home and eats a WFPB diet exclusively, having a small pinch of salt here and there is NOT going to affect one. Which leaves me with another concern - that of not getting enough of the other mineral salts (magnesium, calcium, potassium etc) that we need traces of. As our soil becomes poorer, unlike previous generations, we are now not getting enough of these trace elements in our vegetables and fruits. And all of these mineral salts (including a touch of table salt) ARE needed for the good functioning of our body. There is a lot to be said for growing or buying organic produce where the soil the plants are grown in, is looked after.

I have been diagnosed with blood pressure since 22 years. I eat a plant base . My bp is still high and taking meds . I don’t eat meat dairy and cheese and lots of other food. I eat the green beans and all the good food you are talking about. Exercise and so on, but I have a sleep problem and maybe stress. I need lots of help . Can anyone please help me.
Stress can be the killer secret for you that you need to work on. Praying more and/or some meditation finding solutions to reduce your stress or who makes you stress. Sleep is another powerful punch in either way. Meaning sleep plays its part 100% so not getting atleast minimal 6.5 to 7hra can be major for your situation. Everyone issue with BP is different.
Me too Ms Karen that is my problem as well,I do all of the good things but if I could get my sleep habits under control I believe I would even be better
Resistant hypertension = consult health-care team and get tests done
Try cutting coffee out of your diet and go to sleep early. Go fir brisk walks every day for at least 30 mins
Weight is other factor I was over 150 for yrs in two 121 weight loss and drinking lemon water . Blood Pressure is when your veins become smaller forcing blood thought a small tube .
Make your own fermented foods then you can control the sodium. Avoid pickled foods until under control.
I still have high blood pressure, and I eat whole foods plant based , probably stress and probably need to cut out coffee and salt too
Exercise regularly. An hour or more of "brisk" walking if you can't run or do anything more vigorous.
How about exercise like walking and plenty of sunshine and water? Please don't be discouraged. And your gut microbiome?

Hie if you take medication is there any chance to stop medication when BP is normal
Thanks
EXERCISE!!!! If BP stays high even on WFPB low sodium diet, just add some aerobic exercise. If I don't do this 3 times per week for at least a half hour, and really get my HR up for 20 minutes of that, my BP creeps right back up, even on WFPB. It's not 100% diet. Mostly, but you need to get that heart rate up regularly and keep it up for 20 min.
I cannot eat oats, fish, penutbutter so give me some suggestions. I am from Jamaica ny.
Less oils, butter (even if vegan). Try more raw foods. Just my two cents lol
It’s insulin resistance that causes high blood pressure, we lack potassium in Western diets, our soils are mineral deficient
Yes, most blood pressure medicine does slow your heart down
What about taking fish oil capsules?
.my wife is in seriously severe headache now because of high blood pressure what can I do now to Be Nomal? From Abuja Nigeria

How is sea salt
Make your own meat and fish? Kill your own animals??? Saturated fat in flesh will clog up your arteries. Stick with whole food plant based
12:42 how about if a person is allergic to grains?
You don't have to have grain. Lots of people do not.
Places like Mezeh, Panera, and CAVA are also places that are fast and healthy and you can order ahead.
Is pink salt better than ordinary salt
This was excellent. Thanks! ❤️ The Exam Room. Keep doing what you're doing. It's so needed...
Do you have a cook book?
Does super food green blend works if u can get a hold of leafy greens?
