i had that b&b tp (unopened in box) as deco in my downstairs guest bathroom for years. unfortunately, my mother in law had no idea what it was (collectors item) and cracked one open searching for tp years ago. made for a funny story.

vintage sneaker education for Riff and anyone else interested:
most athletic style sneakers from mid 80s and on use a polyeurethane midsole -- thats the squishy yet firm part between the rubber outsole (touches the ground) and the synthetic/natural "upper" (where your foot goes). Over time the poly dries out and cracks and crumbles like dry cake crumbs. If worn daily, this poly stays hydrated and lasts a lot longer. so its possible that old sneakers can be wearable. It is when old shoes sit and are not worn for many years they begin to degrade. That said, on Nike models with the rubber outsole that is stitched all the way around like yours has an inner-polyeurethane midsole that can dry out and crumble but will not be visible. It would be wise to try them on, or really just push your hands into the bottom of the shoe from the inside, and make sure you dont feel any crunches. also, check the tag on the inside tongue for a production date. the older the shoe, the cooler but also the more likely it isn't functional anymore. super old and poorly maintained shoes will have hard rubber outsoles that don't bend and want to crack. edit: general consensus is that nikes quality has a big drop after 2006/2007. so stuff made before then is cool to find. true 80s and early 90s nike is natural leather
I used to restore old Nikes when I was obsessed with wearing the originals. I would buy the modern day "retro" version of the shoe, use heat and acetone to remove the midsole from the shoe, and use special cement to glue the fresh midsole into the old, original shoes. a true labor of love. Thats the only way to get the true vintage quality and patina with modern comfort/functionality. Some shoes like the original Agassi collection used a material called Phylon for the midsole that doesnt deteriorate, but they used synthetic leather on the uppers called Durabuck so the upper deteriorates instead LOL cant win. Imost of the OG nikes are high quality leather and were engineered for performance. modern day sneakers are 'replicas' and made to look like the old shoe without having to fit or form like the originals. same story in most industries that re-release old products

Really informative! It also makes sense because I never understood how old Nikes held up when newer ones will start to fall apart after a year or two. Oddly enough, despite being the "lesser" of the brands, I was a Reebok guy because they held up so much better. I still even have a set of Reebok Iversons that are over 15 years old, and all I've had to do is replace the insole.
@@Chronis67 some 80s/90s Reebok’s I’ve had and even a old 90s Pumas were still wearable without repair after 20-25 years. Nikes never the case seemingly lol it’s a bummer because the nicest condition sneakers you find usually are nice because they weren’t worn. And that’s what causes the breakdown of the midsole. If you buy a sneaker new and you wear them a lot, the midsole will not deteriorate but the upper will and the outsole will as well, just from more daily use.
Sadly sneakers just aren’t meant to be worn forever, that’s what the classic fully leather shoes are for. But newer sneakers in general seem to break down extra fast these day. The glue comes undone in areas within a year or less. It’s something people who collect tons of sneakers and hardly wear them don’t think about and especially when they are displayed in the open they deteriorate faster 😅 yikes
FYI, Some VCRs and early DVD players would come with that display cardboard or "spec" stickers on them in the box. Still a good find.

It's our job as collectors and resellers to get AS MUCH as possible, for AS CHEAP as possible, so that we can make AS MUCH as possible on profit.

Just as a heads up that VCR having the cardstock standee on top doesn't necessarily mean it was a store display unit. Years ago I worked at a store that sold VCRs and worked there still when they started getting DVD players. Many companies shipped the VCRs and DVD players with those standees stuck to the machines in the box. It was just a quick features label and doubled as a point of sale attractor in case a store decided to display a unit out of the box. This carried over to many DVD players when they first got big at retail. In later years these were transitioned into flat stickers on the top and then pretty much done away with altogether. A lot of people just never pulled those standees or stickers off their machines. They are in the same subset of people that don't pull the protective plastic off of control panels and remote faces. I still occasionally see VCRs at thrift stores with those standees stuck to them. I even bought a Sony DVD player at a thrift a couple of years ago that still had one on it.

Sneakers are about finding what you love and personal preference. If you like it you like it. But….
You can get new AF1 for around 100. 8 bucks isn’t bad, but typically people like them super clean so from a resale standpoint they aren’t worth too much. But if you want them to wear them out, 8 is a not a bad price. Old school sneaker heads won’t like dirty AF1, but it’s in style for younger people to make their af1s dirty.
Solid find. If you want to know more about sneakers. Full Sized Run or Sneaker Shopping on UA-cam as a entry level.
One last thing. Check the NikeID. The color of the sole is a bit unusual they might be “Nike Air Force 1 '07 LV8 'Timeless Classic, Keep Em Fresh'” which are a little rarer and worth a little more. But they also could just be older and yellowing.

Why the hell do these swap meets take place so damn early!?
They say you gotta go early to get first dibs. Not true, I live here and go to these same swap meets (weekly). 90% of the vendors aren't even setup this early. I hear they go early and talk with the vendors they know and that hook them up, so they can plan the episode accordingly. Also, the prices they are portraying are not accurate either. 99% of the time the vendors are giving them a price that you or I wouldn't get.
