I love cauliflower and have a suggestion about its shelf life. I've notice that these wonderful heads start to have brown and black spots as they age on the grocers shelves with little to no refrigeration. What I believe might help institute a longer shelf life is if after spray washing or handling them, they coat the heads with a light spray of paraffin wax as they do for apples and won't hurt your digestion or flavor the florets. I see many heads of cauliflower set on the shelf and wither until some idiot buys it or the grocer throws it away because it can no long be sold with black spots all over the head. The cost of course will increase only a slight amount which most shoppers will not even notice if they like Cauliflower. Anyone have any other suggestions ?
@@daveklein2826 What makes you think I am fucking-up a "perfect food"? Because I speak of dark spots on the heads? AND NO, I am not going to eat black spots, because I am not that hungry nor poor. Have at it, you might even have fun eating all those throwaway leaf stalks on the head that the processors leave on to gain a price-per-pound advantage.
This takes so much man power in my india also many farmers grow cauliflower and pack in bags with only 3 people in one day pack minimum 100 bags of 55kg with no help of machine that's why india is great in natural agriculture.

Paraffin wax isn't edible. It's insect or plant waxes that are used.
