That's that grain alchohol boy you ever got smashed off a nice big bottle of handy sanitizer add salt then re add salt for taste then drain it with a cheese cloth heat it up let it cool then add some nice cranberry juice mixed with sprite that shit will get you SMASHED
This is not alcohol that you’d find in a cocktail from your local neighborhood bar!!! It is NOT haram! This is a preserving agent and it is commonly found in almost every single processed food specially anything with nuts, dairy, or eggs (bread & chocolate). Similarly, you’d use alcohol to clean up a cut on your arm right? It’s not the same as grain alcohol so it’s safe. Well, so is this.
I mean though technically it is *_exactly_* the alcohol you'd find in a cocktail. Ethyl alcohol literally is grain alcohol. Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) is different, but the preservative alcohol in those croissants has the exact same chemical structure as the alcohol in beer.
Assalamu Alaikum sister ethanol produced by anaerobic fermentation and ranging between 1 and 15% is considered to be haram, whereas ethanol produced by natural fermentation and less than 1% is considered as preserving agent and its Halal status is allowed. even medicines contain alcohol / drugs
Indeed sister Even some fruits already have ethanol in their contents like grape and dates before fermentation process, so unless it's not from khamr (wine, beer, etc) it's halal to consume.

Fermentation causes alcohol to be produced. In Malaysia some food that are fermented like fermented rice ( tapai pulut), tapioca (tapai ubi) and coconut sap (nira). Most food products that have any cream or anything that spoils quickly has barely point something of the alcohol and prevents bacteria or mould from growing. That alcohol is present even in medicine and is good to preserve the organic compound of the food, medicine, lotions, perfumes etc. if you don’t add alcohol in the lotion for example, there’s a possibility you get skin infection. Also, when you injure yourself, you use alcohol to clean the wound. Alcohol has many benefits if used appropriately instead of drinking it on it’s own to get drunk.
We are clear about that, but we need to differentiate if the alcohol is the byproduct/preservative OR the manufacturer themselves added liquor to enhance the taste. Im not sure if the ingredient specifically mention any types liquor added or they just stated them as alcohol in ingredient list in packaging. Plus the alcohol ruling only for consumption, not for external use.
This is why islam is beautiful and simple. If it intoxicates when you have a lot then even a little bit is haram and if it doesn’t intoxicate when you have a lot of it then it's halal.

it's literally the result of fermentation from the yeast, so that it rises. u cant have bread, pizza, croissants or anything else with yeast without expecting this. it's just natural. and it doesnt really do anything much, since the amount is so little. i believe it isnt included in things NOT to eat, so it's safe imo.
It’s basically used as a stabilizer or sterilizer so the food doesn’t mold in the packaging. It’s just for anti microbial purpose. It’s considered to be safe for use in micro amounts(mainly for bread foods), but it is still a form of alcohol

Editing because I got my info wrong and was kindly informed about it. Unfortunately it doesn’t specify a percentage of said ingredient, however it is an alcohol which could intoxicate you. It’s used as a preservative to stop bacteria growing but the below passage might allow it to be consumed because the intention isn’t to get intoxicated, also I doubt there’s enough to even reach that desired effect: “Alcohol derived from honey, wheat, barley or corn is haram when used as an intoxicant, in an amount that intoxicates. But, if not used in any such manner, and intended to use for medical purpose, hygiene, perfume, etc., then it would be permissible” Hope that helps sis.

If you don’t use then you can’t sell 7days off the shelf it will rot.
yeah even Durian has alcohol in it but still halal
“Now I can’t eat this anymore with a cup of coffee that barley has any milk in it” I felt that bro 💀
As a Muslim I agree that finding things that are not halal pisses me off and makes me waste money
I really wish people would learn basic food chemistry instead of freaking out lol. Almost every baked good contains a minimal amount of alcohol, that's what yeast does. Most fruits also can contain alcohol. Different kinds of alcohol also are used for preservation.
None of those teeny tiny amounts of alcohol will get you drunk or affect you in any way, and if you consider a ripe fruit halal, this croissant is also considered halal.
The thing is we dont know if the alcohol is from fermentation or from liquor added into the food.
@@evanoeva89 of course you know that, it's a different term.
I understand where you coming from, trust me not everybody have education or take chemistry class, especially in muslims country imagine explain to our parents generation 😅 its very hard, 😂😂 plus with stubbornness, me and my siblings just laugh when their favourite perfume contain tiny amount of alcohol
@@hazimsam-kh1yf well perfume isn't meant to be edible now is it

I mean seeing alcohol could be jarring
This is not alcohol that you’d find in a cocktail from your local neighborhood bar!!! It is NOT haram! This is a preserving agent and it is commonly found in almost every single processed food specially anything with nuts, dairy, or eggs (bread & chocolate). Similarly, you’d use alcohol to clean up a cut on your arm right? It’s not the same as grain alcohol so it’s safe. Well, so is this.
What Muslim would go too the bar

I mean though technically it is *_exactly_* the alcohol you'd find in a cocktail. Ethyl alcohol literally is grain alcohol. Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) is different, but the preservative alcohol in those croissants has the exact same chemical structure as the alcohol in beer.
Assalamu Alaikum sister
ethanol produced by anaerobic fermentation and ranging between 1 and 15% is considered to be haram, whereas ethanol produced by natural fermentation and less than 1% is considered as preserving agent and its Halal status is allowed. even medicines contain alcohol / drugs
Indeed sister
Even some fruits already have ethanol in their contents like grape and dates before fermentation process, so unless it's not from khamr (wine, beer, etc) it's halal to consume.
Let the ulema decide whether it's halal or haram. If the 7 days company doesn't want to lose its muslim customer base, they should ask for a halal certification from the islamic council. That's up to them.
@@ahmadrizaldi7039 🤦🏼♂️

Fermentation causes alcohol to be produced. In Malaysia some food that are fermented like fermented rice ( tapai pulut), tapioca (tapai ubi) and coconut sap (nira). They are delicious and are considered a delicacy. It's halal because the content of alcohol is negligible. You don't get drunk or feel tipsy unless you keep them too long.
Guys, just to let you know. If you're extra picky about alcohol, you can't eat anything fermented as well.
We r not picky..but we r always aware..bcz in Islam.. alcohol and pork is forbidden for us..

I AM SO SORRY THAT HAPPENED 😭 as a Muslim tho I can relate-
Etyhl Alcohol is not used as an ingredient , it is only used for the pack so that the croissants are not rotten
Thank me later
This is for me now the most interesting fact. I thought it is used as a moisturizer in it. Never thought about packaging stuff. 👍
@@juliane8014 ethyl alcohol is more astringent than moisturising though! It causes skin dry, not moisturised.
We can't eat anything with alcohol even an atom of alcohol cause god gave us brain we should keep it and not get drunk.
Most food products that have any cream or anything that spoils quickly has barely point something of the alcohol and prevents bacteria or mould from growing. Ethyl alcohol is also present in your hand wash and hand sanitizers. It’s not intoxicating.
Please know if you want to avoid this . .. consider freshly baked products and avoid packaged food if you are so particular.
I’m sure that the packaging says halal because there are ranges of ingredients that are categorized as halal and the amount of denatured alcohol it contains is probably next to zero .

It's forbidden for Muslims to consume alcohol

That alcohol is present even in medicine and is good to preserve the organic compound of the food, medicine, lotions, perfumes etc. if you don’t add alcohol in the lotion for example, there’s a possibility you get skin infection. Also, when you injure yourself, you use alcohol to clean the wound. Alcohol has many benefits if used appropriately instead of drinking it on it’s own to get drunk.
"BUT MUH HULY BUUK..."
I swear I ate that in Makkah from Bin Dawood 😂

Seriously? I’ve never had this before but my friends have it.. but seriously alcohol in a croissant?
It's a preservative, nowhere near enough to intoxicate. If you really don't like the taste you can leave it out for a while to let alcohol evaporate. Check your intent (and that of item) and effect. Use your akal, you don't intend to get drunk neither was it the item's intent for you, combined with you not getting drunk so in my belief it's perfectly acceptable to consume. Different case if you ordered a drink or dessert where it was added for flavour or if your intent was to get crunked. All forms/ stages of sugar can act as a preservative depending on effect you want to create. Fruit starts as sour or starchy, then converts to sweet. This ferments and once alcohol fully evaporates it becomes vinegar. All can be used to preserve, nature is beautiful, it's our interpretation which we need to be mindful of. Hope this clarifies any doubts.

I looked it up online and it says that muslims can eat it because its used a preservative in the fermentation process. It's like when bread is made, it has yeast in it - same thing.
Brooo I wanted to buy this at my local corner shop :(
It's alright dude just a simple Google search will tell you it. People should really stop being ignorant and trusting random TikToks of people yelling at their phones. When you see one that yells "I found this!! What is this?!?? This has to be bad!!!", then literally just find out for yourself what that is. Then your own logical reasoning will tell you yourself whether it's fine or not instead of listening to hearsay. Allah loves the curious that pursue knowledge.
it's literally the result of fermentation from the yeast, so that it rises. u cant have bread, pizza, croissants or anything else with yeast without expecting this. it's just natural. and it doesnt really do anything much, since the amount is so little. i believe it isnt included in things NOT to eat, so it's safe imo.
It’s basically used as a stabilizer or sterilizer so the food doesn’t mold in the packaging. It’s just for anti microbial purpose. It’s considered to be safe for use in micro amounts(mainly for bread foods), but it is still a form of alcohol
Lol, I hope this girl won't read the the ingredients list on her skincare products. She would fume.
Dhuuh, alcohol in perfume and skincare is not the same consumable alcohol. Seriously?

Unfortunately it doesn’t specify a percentage of said ingredient, however it is an alcohol which could intoxicate you. It’s used as a preservative to stop bacteria growing but the below passage might allow it to be consumed because the intention isn’t to get intoxicated, also I doubt there’s enough to even reach that desired effect:
“Alcohol derived from honey, wheat, barley or corn is haram when used as an intoxicant, in an amount that intoxicates. But, if not used in any such manner, and intended to use for medical purpose, hygiene, perfume, etc., then it would be permissible”
Hope that helps sis.
