Loving all the updates Beginner mode Sounds fantastic
Still throwing my hat in the ring for testing!❤
As someone who has always had trouble with starter, I am so excited for this to come out. The beginner mode sounds like just what I need.
I’d love to be a tester! Love sourdough bread!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE what you guys are doing and have done !!! Take a BOW !!!! I can't wait to get in on this and order mine !!! Kudos !!!!
I love it so far. I really want to test one!
Me too!
I hear ya there.. I plan on getting one for each of the girls and us..can't wait
Love the plan and very excited for the release. You really hit on a lot of the points and the only other thing I saw that someone put out there was maybe a little battery back up to get you through a day or two of power outage. Definitely a good time for release. It’s gonna be a good Mother’s Day birthday present. Can’t wait
I am so excited for this!! As a beginner in making sourdough I love all the automation so as to help me become more advanced. So far so good on all the different features!!

This looks so cool! Can’t wait to see the final product and give it a try!
Very excited for this product! We bake bread at least weekly and this would simplify the process!
I'd love to test this, the idea that I could have my starter fed without having to think about it and make homemade sourdough every week sounds great
This looks amazing! I can't wait for this to be available.
I'd LOVE to get one (preferably in stainless please) so I can finally start making my own bread bowls and sourdough loaves
Excited! Can’t wait to order!
I am so excited to see the final product
Excited 🎉
Looking so forward to this!! Gonna make me some bread and then smoke it in my Arden!!
We've tried it and.....it's not good. Now some of the smoked condiments that then go ON the bread, those were pretty good.
You know when I was a little boy my mom baked all our bread. Dad forgot it when we went camping and my mom fashioned a wood fired oven..after all these years that smoked bread is my most memorable
@@wendlo1 That does sound amazing. Having personally put lots of bread products in the indoor smoker...non of those tasted good. The bread seems to absorb so much smoke it ends up tasting bitter and like ash. But maybe we should try baking a loaf in there with the smoke level turned down. What a great memory.
Would love to purchase once it’s ready.
So excited to try it!
Love it!!!
Love it! Can't wait!
Sounds great!
Looks great for a newbie who’s afraid I might kill my starter.
That's a great thing with starting with a small amount and add in till you get the amount you need. And it tells you when to do this step by step! We need to name her. Yes a her. She's a producer.
The Lievitare
rise, leaven, grow
I want one ❤
So excited. Can't wait!
This looks awesome! I’m a high school culinary teacher and have been wanting to include sourdough in my advanced classes but the starter process presents several problems making it difficult to do - this looks like it would avoid those obstacles. I’m happy to test it in a class setting if it could be useful and, if not, will be interested in purchasing when available. Is there any info on what the price will be and when it will be ready?
As said in the video, Not yet on final price and we plan on crowdfunding in March (SUBJECT TO CHANGE). As with most crowdfunds, we won't have an estimated delivery time until much closer to launch (March)
Looking forward to seeing the final product
I need this.
Do you feed a little starter each time and clean it once it's used? I get that how you start it, but how do you maintain it?
I love it..plan on buying one for myself and the daughter's.. I just wish you got it ready to sell
We are getting there as fast as we can. We want it to be the best it can be.
It looks amazing, you say the water & flour reservoirs will hold a week's worth of products. Will this allow the flour and water to remain fresh. Just curious. Thanks, can't wait for this to come out.
Do you need a new starter everytime? I'm a little confused . If you program it to make the amount of starter you will need, Do you use all that is in the container or measure out the amount you need and leave the rest for the next batch.
For someone who already has a sourdough starter I'm feeding and using regularly, this would be nice to have but not a deal breaker. Even if someone is just starting out, I think they need to understand the basics of starting a starter. This might be for someone who is toying with the idea and has the extra money, someone who is dependent on tech to do the job for them, or someone who isn't in the kitchen on a regular basis. I want to like it but how much effort does it really take for a few seconds to feed and stir?
Or to busy..for us it would be perfect..I bake once a week but seriously I could bake every couple of days
Does the SideKick keep the mix at a certain temp or ambient temperature? If it uses ambient temp, does it adjust to colder or warmer temps? Is there a strip on the bowl that lets you know the temp of the starter? Just asking, incase I wanted to try on my own, I'd know what temp is best. Does it ever over or under grow a starter or does it feed once a certain height is reached?
Hope that this is not too many questions. I love this idea! I'm a healthcare worker and it is hard to maintain a starter till I'm able to bake.
Is this is actually building a pre-ferment from a mature starter? Is it temperature controlled?
I need it❤
Mot sure if it was mentioned before but can the mixing spatula be stainless steel? Or if it can’t be are all the parts chemicals free? Are all the easily removable for washing purposes?
Thank you
@marcogreco2769 we hear you and we are working on it. Lots of folks with the same concerns
Thank you, I appreciate taking the comments and suggestions in consideration, can’t wait for the final product. It will be awesome 👏🏼
Preciso de um aqui no Brasil, quando??😊
Will high altitude affect the Sidekick sour dough process ?
That's something we just aren't sure about yet and would need some very specific testing controls.
I can't wait!!!!!
Will it be able to help me make my starter to begin with? I know you said you can add a little starter and it will take care of it but can it help me make my starter in the first place?
Question: I already have a bread machine that has a mode to create sourdough starter. How will the sourdough starter compare to that?
Well that's really tough to answer without knowing the full scope of what that bread machine does. We are working on a mode right now that should be able to get a starter going from scratch. That mode isn't for sure yet but we are working on making it a reality. Hope that helps.
Very cool. But I don't discard, nor do I feed a little every day. I make my bread. This leaves a small amount of starter. I mix that with a small amount of flour and water. Might up to a quarter cup or so total volume. Could be less. Let it sit on the counter a few hours, or overnight if I forget. Put it in the fridge. Waits for me to use it in a day or two or five. Done this for years. Does it look like the pretty fluffy fed starter. Nope. Does it work beautifully. Yes, yes it does. I'be bought bread from well known great bakeries, and my bread is on par. ..... Bonus tip: make your regular daily bread as slice-sized rounds of flat bread on an electric griddle. Won't suit everyone, but if it suits you, it's fantastic.
When is this available? Where do we sign up?

I have a lot of recipes that use "discard". So that feature doesn't interest me. I just took my fave French bread recipe and added 1C of discard. It is fantastic! For breakfast we like our sourdough Belgian waffles - discard. I bake a rhubarb sourdough bread that is great toasted for breakfast and my list goes on. I have a stash of about 2-3C and a discard vessel that is 1-2C. They both get fed. Why wouldn't you want discard? I am not an expert baker but enjoy it very much. I purchased my starter from King Arthur Flour and use ONLY their flours. All my breads and pie crusts are made with their Bread Flour, other than a couple of specialty breads like their Irish bread. Again I ask - Why wouldn't you want discard?
The sidekick will not prevent you from using discard at all. Sorry if this was confusing. For bakers that have a routine where they feed and discard daily, you can set the sidekick up so that it feeds for you exactly the way you always do it. We call this “Custom” mode currently because you are customizing the feeding routine. Discard is needed in this mode. The beauty is, the sidekick wont get distracted or busy, so it will execute your commands with consistency.
“Auto” mode is really geared toward people that just want the sidekick to grow the amount of starter they need for their dough recipe without the daily chore of feeding, measuring, discarding, cleaning utensils etc. These bakers tend to bake slightly less frequently and really want to offload the “chore” aspects of starter maintenance so they can focus on making sourdough bread.
Basically, we are designing the sidekick to be useful for both types of sourdough starter “parents”.
If you don’t mind sharing, what is your daily starter feeding routine? Are there ever days where you have to alter it to fit your schedule?
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Me too!
I do want one send details I will preorder

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!
So which model is it? Your showing 2
A survey ask 3 prices all were under 250 maybe was 200,
So are you raising the price now?
You say leave comments ,but not answering doesn't look good
Loosing some faith in your company.
Why put are you a scam, your actions say alot.
Lets hope you prove yourself wrong.
Ill buy one ,once released as kickstart ,if questions we ask are answered.
We are showing 2 models because one of them is the current working Prototype for testing purposes and the 3D models/renders you see in the video are very close to what the final product will look like. We are working on getting physical final models as well as working prototypes that incorporate the final design elements into them. So the ones you see in the video that are just renderings, are what we are targeting the final product to look like.
The survey(s) that go out have lots of various questions, including price, to better gauge the community's thoughts. It's always a careful balance of price, features, and materials. Some people might want it to have every feature under the sun but ultimately that would raise the price. Our goal is to offer something affordable with as many features that people want as possible. The surveys help us understand that balance. We don't currently have a final price to announce, nor are we raising the price (which doesn't exist yet)
Most of the questions we are seeing, simply don't have answers yet. Price, exact release date, etc. Which we are very open about why we don't have those exact answer yet in our video(s).
Hope this helps.
@Firstbuild ty
This helps some
But now you put no price exists, yet you ask certain numbers in surveys.
So you gave a lot of people the assumption that it would be around those prices.
Waiting to long and just keeping people wondering when it's available is going to make people go elsewhere, not buy at all, or think it is scam.
Your track record has some flaws. So you need to win some people back
Ill give you a bit of slack since your based were I was born and raised.
Next video give us more definitive answers.
As we have asked
Thanks
