It says this Volbeat song featured Johan Olsen (Magtens Korridoror) as a guest vocalist from 2006... It was on their 2nd album in 2007 - 'Rock the rebel/ Metal the devil'... Apparently, Volbeat debuted in 2005 in Denmark w/ the album 'The strength/ The sound/ The songs'... followed by this record. Then, the 3rd album 'Guitar gangsters & Cadillac blood' in 2008... Their 2010 album was their big break in the USA - 'Beyond hell/ Above heaven'... which had the hit "A warrior's call" and the record sold gold (half million copies) in the US... I saw them live on Megadeth's Gigantour 2012 w/ Motorhead, and Lacuna Coil... Hank Shermann (Mercyful Fate) played guitar on that tour for Volbeat... then, former Anthrax lead guitarist/ producer Rob Caggiano joined the band for their 2013 album 'Outlaw gentlemen & shady ladies', which also sold gold in the US. Volbeat opened for Metallica around this time... they will open for Metallica in 2023 as well. Their last few records have been... "Seal the deal & let's boogie" (2016)... 'Rewind, replay, rebound' (2019)... and 'Servant of the mind' (2021). Volbeat currently is: Michael Poulsen (vocals & rhythm guitar), Jon Larsen (drums), Rob Caggiano (lead guitar), and Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass).
I know a few of their songs - Shotgun Blues and The Devil's Bleeding Crown are great. Didn't know this song. The lyrics are about the death of a loved one, who is buried in a beautiful garden under a tree. The other singer is not in Volbeat but Johan Olsen from the band Magtens Korridorer was brought in to sing in Danish.
Thanks for checking this one out mate! I had no clue they got so much airtime all the way over in Michigan.. that's brilliant! 😀
