Classic car electric choke conversion - choke heater disassembly. 4150 Holley

Classic car electric choke conversion - broken electric choke heater disassembly. 4150/4160 and other Holley carburetors. The choke heater on my 1957 Thunderbird stopped cooking and was not pulling the choke off so I replaced it. This is the failed one which I disassembled looking for why it stopped working. After looking at it I have no idea what makes it get hot. Looks like the parts are fully insulated from each other. I expected to find some kind of "heater coil" but there is none. If you know how it works, please comment.
