While elements of the esthetic are similar, Motley Crue and Ratt MUSICALLY and TALENT wise are light years apart. Motley Crue is one of the greatest frauds in music history, they SUCK, every one IN that band is mediocre and producers had to work HAAAARD to make 'something' out of their 'talent'. While Ratt needed help and polish, too...they had talent and their songs were better written. Their issue was mainly Bobby Blotzer and his constant complaining about royalties. As far as I'm concerned, if you're IN a band, split the money evenly to keep the SHOW together, mutual interest intact and the peace between members.

Right on brother! Ootc could of had 7 singles off of it! God bless all the ratt n rollers. Jesus saves!
Fame, money, creative differences, drugs, partying, Pecking orders causes divisions and infighting. It's easy for us being on the outside to judge them, but it's nearly impossible to avoid. Good video.
Missed the fact, Cruciae (sic) was originally the bassist for Dokken, on Breaking the Chains.
And Blotzer rented from Dokken lived next door in Hermosa Beach
There has NEVER been hair metal. There was glam metal in the eighties
Way Cool Jr. was probably my favorite from these guys - such a cool groove.
Love that song
Warren Dimartini is awesome. Ratt...not so much.
I grew up in San Diego. I remember my little sister telling me that she saw a local band called Mickey Ratt and they were really good. I dont think I payed much attention about it back then.
Bring back hair bands...no music isnt as good as that
Mtv - Heavy Metal Half Hour - Ratt was one of the first bands to turn me on to music and led me to being a musician...
Best band to come out of the '80s. Change my mind
lmao, that’s ridiculous, here I’ll change your mind, Metallica, Megadeth, Guns & Roses, Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Judas Priest, Queensryche, Skid Row, AC/DC, Accept, Dio
RATT was great! I love all there songs!
I saw them in 1984 in the old Salt Palace. It was general admission so we were about 10 or 15 feet from the stage. Great show. I always looked forward to watching their Round and Round video on MTV.
Ratt was the perfect 80s band in every way what I find crazy is how did those bands get such good recording deals crue had super good ratt must of if they all had a million bucks
I do love that commercial where the couple says they love their house but they have a rat problem then Ratt is playing Round and Round in the next room.
Grung n alternative was a huge mistake,
Lol this is crazy. Was playing their first album last night. Now I see this. One of my fav albums ever!!!
Decent band for a short while albeit very 80s.
Such a great band … Great songs and fun stuff … good times!
My favorite band ever
Ratt was huge! Round and Round is a forever top ten rock tune! Pure classic
Lack of Communication!! We'd smoke pot b4 school and jam RATT at 7am doing powerhitters!! 10th grade was a bliss!!! 😂
i liked steven and demartini, and the well known early songs.. i dont consider bands like this in the early days hair bands though.. they may have turned into hair bands in the later 80s, when things got sucky.. and everyone started looking like these other ratt guys.. you know, all those guys in hair bands that i dont know their names, or pay attention to in videos.. the cringy guys doing moves
Love RATT!! Love their last album, “Infestation” too, but a little muffled sonically. Musically, it’s great!
My first real concert was Ratt w/ Bon Jovi at Mecca in Milwaukee, 1986. You can't overstate how huge that Round and Round video was-- MTV in the mid 80s could just launch a band with a well-timed video!
