I know it's been a while.
Things started to get a little bit unexpected starting this fall but the silver-lining of all this is that I got the time and chances to reflect on things in a way that I normally would not.
I made snowy mooncakes and katsu curry for this fall, organized all the recipes I printed out over the years, routinely did housework, did some reading, and kept up my journaling.
I also ended up thinking a lot about my relationship with myself.
It's funny that the friendship a person needs most and lasts the longest may be one within oneself. We spend 1/3 of our life eating/sleeping and then 1/5 for work and entertainment. With people around us come and go, we are the ones that are and will be always by our side.
However, in the process of growing up, we are always taught to learn how to properly treat our friends and loved ones, how to provide comfort when others are hurting, and may have neglected to treat ourselves the same way.
So I decided to give myself some forms of positive self talk or self affirmation every day even without a specific reason. Hope you can as well.
