I love every time you do this, it's always so fun to see it turn out like that, it's like magic! also, Hi John! Love when your hubby's in the dye studio. I hope you really do keep one, I know you often say you're going to and then you don't end up keeping any. 😉😊😊😘
I didn't mention it in your short but I had a feeling there was silk in there, it had a nice sheen to it. I was right... :) "sparkle"...I could see it. I really should do a resist because it does look fun and the results are cool. What's your mom gonna make with it? Did she say yet? I should have waited a little longer to order LOL. Socks for John, NICE! I too like be wrong in a good way LOL...or happy accidents.
Wasn’t there a project that you used this yarn in? I remember seeing it on one of your videos a long time ago. Was it a knitted Christmas tree? I can’t remember what it was but I do remember wishing I could get some of that yarn! Can you share the name of that pattern please?
I did spin some yarn for a Christmas Tree tea cosy. It was this one. www.ravelry.com/people/FiberLoveDiary/new_library?type=all&search=Tea&filter=type%3Aall&sort=title&view=shelves&volume_id=397293276 I think it's poetically what you remember. I knit socks for John when I dyed this before
Question: why do you use cotton for resist vs something like acrylic (red heart etc) yarn? Is it because yarn content doesn't matter and you just use something you have/like?
That's a great question that I never thought to explain about. The cotton is very grippy on itself, so I never have to worry about the knits and bows slipping. I need them to stay tight to provide the resist I like and keep the dye out.
Beautiful! If you can increase the volume that is recorded, that would be very helpful to your audience. Some of us have damaged hearing, but haven't gotten to the point of being able to shell out thousands for a good hearing aid yet.
You make it so easy to follow.thank you.
That is absolutely gorgeous!!!

The dyed yarn turned out perfect, what do you knit up with it?
Sometimes accidents are happy. ;)

What about using a manual potato masher to push down in the bath?
Good idea. I'll add one to my tool stash out there

I use the closed captioning feature! Even if the volume is fine.
Barn??? What did I miss?
