@ble909 Thanks for the corrections, and still complimenting on my video! I'm glad you liked it. I know some stuff about air horns, but the Nathans are more complicated than the Leslies!
#2452, Definitely an RS3L. Technically RSL3LR (because of the low-profile manifold). I think the 44 bell is reversed anyway. Looks like it. #2461, that's just a K5L(R2 maybe? R3 possibly). The K5H and K5L sound exactly the same, but are mounted on different manifolds. No need to call it Canadian-tuned. #3642, Oh yeah. S3L for sure. 44 bell has gone silent though. #402, probably was a P3 or something at one time. Don't see many P2 that often. #211, again, just K5L. I can't tell if there's any bell reversals. No need to call it Canadian-tuned. #2453, K3H(R1). Has the high profile manifold. #2423, Yepp. P5. Not sure if it's mixed cast or not. Definitely more in-tune with itself. Not the best sounding (sounds like it needs cleaned) but different from any new cast I've ever heard.
The K5Hs are the best, probably my favorite horn, but I'm sure they didn't pass. I never understood how a train horn can be "too loud"...it prevents people from getting hit. The P5 is a close second, also factoring in that that's my favorite engine on the DL roster.
@cweis127 I doubt. Probably built with an S3L... I doubt it was mounted where it is now too. That's a Canadian thing to have the bell/horn where it is.
@CSX6000
That would be nice, I personally like the beat up old NY&LE paint.
@CSX6000 She has a Nathan K5H.
The Alco with the P5 is an EX New York and lake erie Alco locomotive
I'm usually a Leslie guy, but 2461's K5L stole the show. That P5 aint too shabby either.
@cweis127
DL 3000 must have been tested, the last time I was there, her K5H was replaced with a black S3L, which stuck out on the red engine.
Those K5L's are real boss. And the S3L has one bell silent, so it of coarse wouldnt pass. Why didnt they test D-L 3000?
Damn that P5 is beautiful
Especially because of how rare the Mixed cast P5 is
@@Alco16-251F Mixed Cast P5’s aren’t necessarily rare. Certain combinations are but mixed cast P5’s as a whole aren’t.
@@ArturoRailProductions Thanks for the correction.

I can listen to this all day. Music to my ears!
Agreed! Music to mine as well!
normal horn for crossings
@GenesisSanctuary They were added when they belonged to BC Rail.

2423 is mixed cast
@@ArturoRailProductions Nice! There's an NS Engine with a mixed cast P5
@cweis127 It was in for repairs I believe.
@CSX6000 was that its original horn?
Great video.1st time I have ever seen something like this
@NJT4111 I'd love to see that engine painted in a PRR scheme.
Hm... I see some potential for simulator horn sounds... ;)
Awesome video and best horns I've ever heard!
Daaaaaaaang that's freakin awesome!! Once again great video Adam!
@49MCURLL49 I do like the P5 the best. The Leslie on 2452 is a close second though.
Just wanted to say thanks for the video, I am a huge deisel fan and think American locos are some of the absolute best.
Very, very awesome video Adam! Loved that Leslie on 2452!
Killer RS3L on 2452...my favourite horn!
Agreed! 2452 and 2461 HAve the horns that throw the others out of the Ballpark!
@LycoValleyRRFan I can't remember exactly. I think the P-2 was the only horn that passed.
WOW nice RS3L best one ive ever heard
Me fav is the P5!
Wicked awesome video!!!
ahhh great horns and great alcos, what a sight and what sounds, well done!
@cweis127 I have to agree.
I like the last one the best. Cool video!
@bonehead1902 I agree!

So many ALCO's starting at the same TIME, great shots. my favorite is when they were smoking it up leaving Moscow.
Literally K5LA means the American Tuned version of the K5L which was designed specifically in Canada.
When I was a little boy I went up to Jim Thorpe and Scranton. History written all over these mountain railroads.
@cweis127 They might have done it another day.
For some reason it feels so unusual to see four units all facing the same direction.
R&N RailProductions I agree
Interesting!
@CSX6000 not CN but BC Rail owned it for a stint.
2452 has one of the best RS-3L's i have ever heard!
100%! I've heard it many times, and it never gets old!
This is a perfect horn for a 90's action movie train scene
No horn is ever too loud. If it's quiet, it needs to be cranked to the max! That's what I think. Lol.
i completely agree with you 100%
@shininghappyperson7 acceleration
So which ones passed and which ones failed?
No way!
@cweis127 Check out the link I just put at the bottom on the description.
@cweis127 I doubt. Probably built with an S3L... I doubt it was mounted where it is now too. That's a Canadian thing to have the bell/horn where it is.
Why to loud? thats dumb the louder the better!!
i would love to be train pilot
07:58 that is playing the chord of a K3L, no way that's a K3LA.
Lackawanna means I don'' wanna!
P5 All the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
