I turned 16 in 1986. I never in my wildest dreams believed that Iron Maiden would still be still rocking out and be EVEN MORE popular almost 40 years later. Life is a crazy journey.
Anthrax look to be in good spirits despite this being about a week after the Metallica accident. Nicko's comment that the Maiden British tour starts the next day dates this to October 2, 1986. cool footage
Like someone said before, this happened exactly on October 2, 1986. Interviewer: "You just started your latest world tour..." Nicko: "we did Eastern Europe (...) Yugoslavia, Hungary, Poland (...) 12 gigs, Waysted supported our first 6 (...) UK tour starts tomorrow night..." Well Somewhere on Tour started in Eastern Europe in September 1986, for 12 gigs, they went to Yugoslavia, Austria (Nicko miss it lol :D), Hungary and Poland, and Waysted supported them, and their first UK tout gig was on 3rd of October 1986. That makes sense.
Hmmm... not late '85? If in late '86, seems odd that Scott Gorham would say nothing about the passing of Phil Lynott. Just, "Yeah it's been a few years since I left Thin Lizzy." RIP Philip... :'(
D.R & Quinch! 80's Brit metalheads had access to all the cool 2000 AD shirts. Can't count the number of UK metal interviews where someone has a Judge Death shirt on.
TOO RIGHT HE DOES!! haha I only found that out recently that he got adrian into playing guitar through watching the bonus features to the 'Rock in Rio' DVD ( where they basically follow each member of the band around on their day off) I tried to post the link on here but it wouldnt let me... just search " Iron Maiden Adrian Smith Relax Day Rock In Rio " = )

Metal Hammer was a great magazine. Should be preserved online
its still published in Germany. But all the people from back in the days are gone.
Dave Murray is the king! And so are the rest of the Iron Maiden-crew!!
Loudness = pure quality.

@@stevewheels9773 Nope. It was in 1986. Because in 1985, they were still on the World Slavery Tour. And Somewhere in Time was released in 1986.
You saved me some man hours here. Thank you.
