This video worked on me like a sun in my heart ....
It is so refreshing when people simply tell it as it is, with no preamble.
I am sending you all my love ... You are the best!!
I recognize this so much ....
I have called the ambulance around five times for the passed two months, thinking that I was about to die, but it was panic attacks. My heart was poundig around 160 beats per minute and I just couldn't grasp that it simply was anxiety, but it was.
Thank you! This video was exactly what I needed right now ... So full of love and warmth... You made me laugh and cry and those both things are so healing!
I also need to learn about my own boundaries ... It is so important and cucual to learn about self respect. We are doing the best we can!
    Take care, dears!!

This is such a beautiful comment, thank you so much, Nenne, it warmed my heart just reading it 🥺❤️ I’m sorry to read you’ve been having frequent panic attacks recently, especially so intense you’ve felt the need to call the ambulance 5 times! I can only imagine how scary those moments were for you. I’ve been given a lot of advice to “accept and allow” my anxious feelings, not to fight the bodily sensations and to trust my body to do it’s job… which has been really helpful in smaller episodes but when the rational brain shuts off in bigger episodes it’s so hard to remember 🙈 but you’re so right, we’re doing the best we can and I’m understanding better every day that a lot of patience is required haha I really hope you’re able to find your peace with whatever is triggering your anxiety. I am sending you a giant virtual hug 💛

Spade.. Jar.. Puppy. Puppy was always going to be the best therapy! I used to suffer from anxiety & found the cures to be:
    1. Ageing ~30yr (if I wake up, it's already a great day).
    2. A simple (unprocessed) diet.
    3. Cats! I've always loved cats!
Always striving for goals is almost bound to lead to anxiety, as the goal is always the next step/level, so never attained. Dare to pause, sometimes, & be happy with where you are for a while. So endeth the advice from someone twice your ages.

Haha I still can’t believe how lucky we were to get PUP 😆🙌 Thank you for sharing what helped you, I’ve actually found starting my day with a quick 5 minute gratitude audio to be a big help for me, so your first point makes a lot of sense. As for the unprocessed diet… that’s still something I’m struggling verrrry hard to get serious with. Just the thought of giving up sugar makes me so sad but I know it’s just the sugar addict in my reacting 😆
But gosh “Dare to pause” is going to be my next mantra haha What you wrote about always striving for goals really hit home for me. I’m realising the state I naturally want to be in is more in the present, living at a slower pace and appreciating the day-to-day, but I’m constantly battling against that when I’m striving for ever-evolving goals and mentally thinking of the future so much. Anyways, thank you for your thoughtful comment and for prompting me to reflect a bit more 💛

@@SteAndRach Before I was 4yo we got cat #1&, to me, she proved that God existed. So! The part that I missed out is that cats remind me that I've accepted God's offer of eternal life. I'm not religious & like a good dollop of science but science is the What & How, whereas the Holy Bible is the What & Why. I see 2, complementary fields of explanation, rather than one superseding the other.
Evolution insists that I'm a random, short-living scintillation, within an unimaginably vast Universe. God insists that I'm potentially an eternal being, even if I don't recognize such. Aggressive atheists state that the latter belief is simply a comforter for those who cannot face the stark reality of the former but I strongly disagree! What I like about the HB is that everyone who ever lived gets a fair trial (opportunity of eternal life). By default, God is inclusive (as expected) & only His knowing enemies get shown the door.
What I'm trying to say is that God's got you & that you don't have to be anxious about achieving certain goals before your clock runs down. Once you accept that your eternal future is guaranteed, you'll become free to adopt a more relaxed & playful attitude to this short, high maintenance phase of existence. Dare to live forever!
[ You very likely will, whether or not you dare.😂🙏👍 ]

Super creative video! Props to Ste for coming up with the idea!
To Rach: I hope your anxiety gets better! A quote that I like whenever I feel stressed goes like this:
“Stress is an ignorant state. It believes that everything is an emergency. Nothing is that important.”
It’s a good reminder that 99% of the time, things aren’t as important as we make them out to be in our heads. So keep your head up, and keep working hard!! Love you guys!

    • @SteAndRach
      @SteAndRach  2 роки тому

Thank you, Jed! I love that reminder. I recently started using an app to help me with coping and it said something similar: the alarm that goes off in your mind to trigger your anxiety is the same as the fire alarm in your kitchen. It goes off in the same way if your house is burning down or if you simply burnt a few cookies in the oven. The alarm isn’t the issue, it’s the way to interpret the situation 😅

Sometimes we really take ourselves outside of our own limits and it can become really discomfortable, but being able to experience those situations and being able to take the time to consciously reflect on those body and mind signs and identify patterns is something to be grateful for and an important step towards self-awareness. Thank you for sharing your own experience in such a raw way. You two are so inspiring! ❤️

Thank you so much for this thoughtful comment, João! You’re so right, I’m learning every day that having my anxiety now has been more of a blessing than anything. Its forced me to pause, reflect, and be brutally honest with myself in a way I hadn’t prioritised doing for too long. As always, really appreciate your positive outlook and support ❤️

Probably the best advice to deal with anxiety (as far as I (a person that has suffered from anxiety a lot) know) is just to STOP trying to get rid of it. It has happened, then acknowledge it and treat it as a good friend 💖

  • @elisabethm.6447

Rach this was so brave of you, sharing your struggle with us and giving some advice for what you think might be the solution to your anxiety.. I think knowing our limits is a constant life struggle for everyone, since in each phase of life new things come in and new limits have to be set.. Of course we always have to step out of our comfort zones to evolve, but to the point where we don't push our bodies to feel overly uncomfortable.. To feel overwhelmed is a perplexed feeling, but with self care and people like Ste around you, going over the top to help, things get easier in time!! Sending so much love to both of you and hugs to you Rach, you are not alone 💛💛

Self care scrabble should be a new trend! I love the idea and your video. I wish that Rach can take time for self care as well - especially during times like COVID and what's going on around the world now. In fact Ive recently learnt a few very very simple breathing exercises which can help with anxiety :) hopefully these can help Rach when she feels overwhelmed. Good luck and keep the great content running !

My gosh guys what a brilliant idea, I would have never thought of that! You are so full of resources when it comes to creating extremely entertaining videos, well done! wow Rach, I had a client today telling me the same thing while crying, I was so moved! I tried my best to comfort him and he was so grateful at the end he thanks me like 10 times! I work in the civil service at the moment and I deal with lots of vulnerable people but hey, lucky them as I will qualify as a counsellor next January so I know what to say and how to say and it always helps! When we will meet we will have a girlie chat ;) That being said, 99% of us go through anxiety sooner or later so you are not alone in this. I have anxiety episodes every second day even though I am fine with my life. I guess anxiety just happens, we only need to learn how to deal with it when it comes. Much love you awesome guys! xx

I’d definitely love a girlie chat about this, I can already tell it would be amazing 😄 I do find a lot of comfort in knowing that even if my anxiety goes and then comes back later in life it won’t be the end of the world, if anything it’s teaching me so much more about myself and helping me build a deeper trust in my ability to keep learning and doing my best day by day ☺️ Anyways, thank you again for your kind comment, sending you lots of love 💛

Feeling overwhelmed is not the cause of anxiety. The cause of anxiety is probably trying to make everything perfect and overreacting to your bodys signals, for example take increased heartbeat as a sign of heart disease which it most likely is not😉 Try to challenge your anxious thoughts with something like what if it not is true? Or write down every thought that cause anxiety on a piece of paper and then tear apart it🤟
