I remember thinking it wasn't possible to adore her any more until I came across this tune. She's otherworldly. Now, on Christmas Eve, when everyone else is sound asleep, I sit with a drink and watch it once again.
I am a little bit sad also because Floor anounced today on her instagram that she is suffering from breastcancer, it wil be treated tomorrow by operating and removing it, and she hopes to still do the European shows with Nightwish! She is very brave! Let us all wish for the best for Floor, Hannes and Freija and of course her family.
MerchantOfAlba I see you don't usually read the comments but sometimes you should look, I don't know if you know that our Floor really needs our prayers, she was diagnosed with breast cancer two weeks ago and was operated on last 10/27/22 but is doing well , but we will send her many positive energies, and that she recovers as soon as possible, a kiss from Brazil
It's ok. I cry too. Every time. This week's news reminds us that as easy as it is to think of Floor as a Goddess, or a mountain, invulnerable and indestructible, she is a human being. Everyone pray for her safe recovery.
Her voice was exceptional in that performance. Even more powerful than usual. Maybe the "passenger" in her belly was allowing more resonance or something. ^^ Floor is a jewel. I'm not religious but if angels are a thing, she's one of them.

"Raskasta Joulua" (Heavy Christmas) is an annual Christmas tour in Finland, where the heavy/metal musicians play classic Christmas tunes with heavy touch. In 2016 Floor was still living in Finland near to the other band members and studying Finnish language. In fact she sings the song in very understandable Finnish with good pronouncing. Now she lives in Sweden and speaks fluent Swedish. Swedish is one official language in Finland (along Same). So, I guess the band can speak Finnish, Swedish and English in the tour bus and still understand each other.

I literally got tears in my eyes, even though I've seen this performance so many times. You can see and feel the happiness in Floor: expecting her baby girl and singing to her heart's content.
She got the cancer diagnosis couple of weeks ago and has since then toured Latin America with Nightwish and has given her all to the audiences. She didn't even talk about the cancer before the tour, probably because she wanted people enjoy the music and the experience without worrying about her. I just can't imagine how it feels to perform like nothing has happened, right after she got the cancer news.
The letter hit me personally hard and I'm still processing what I read yesterday. I just wasn't expecting any updates like that from her.
She's a wonderful person and I really hope everything goes well! It's gonna be hard time to listen to her singing without tears...

Raskasta Joulua tour 18th Nov - 18th Dec. 22 shows and Marko appears in 20 of them. This years lineup is very interesting and strong. The last show will definitely be shown again on Finnish television, so people will get new Christmas songs on their playlists.

I have watched vocal coaches mention that singing while this pregnant is not easy and Floor decides to sing this very difficult song anyway, and is still able to sustain that high note at the end. She is truly in a class by herself.

Raskasta Joulua (Heavy Christmas) isn't so much a band but a series of Christmas concerts in Finland put on by metal musicians. Hugely popular and most of the popular performers participate. Dominika, its totally fine to have a tear or two especially listening to Floor, I had them before you. I am not a fan of Christmas songs full stop and I havent been a big fan of Christmas ever but especially after my mom passed away, its not the same. This song makes me feel warm inside and gives me some happiness again regarding Christmas. Its the only way I could listen to Christmas songs (heavy) although I think its mainly because of Floors heartwarming voice. Take care both and enjoy Christmas in Poland, I will have a glass or two of Zubrowska as a toast to you. take care

Not harmless, but benign.
@@TomTomson81 I don't think there's such a thing as benign cancer. Benign tumors aren't considered cancer. But apparently, Floor's breast cancer does not seem to be aggressive and there are good reasons to think that she will get rid of it with proper surgery and treatment.

Tumors are cancerous growths.

Those emotions you show here are smack in the crux of the Finnish Christmas tradition as well, I feel you so strongly! Longing for the Christmas times of our childhood, holding dear the memories of our loved ones, past and present. These sentiments are deeply rooted in the Finnish Christmas. Many of the songs performed in Raskasta Joulua concerts are arrangements of well-known traditional international songs, but they perorm many Finnish originals (by some of our finest composers, like Sibelius, even), too, and those, my dear friends, tend to be true tear jerk material, especially if you get acquainted with their lyrics! Those songs are immensely popular in Finland, of course -- year after year, generation after generation...
One such song would be Varpunen Jouluaamuna, Sparrow on a Christmas Morning. It is a composition by Otto Kotilainen (1868-1936) on the original poem by Zacharias Topelius (1818-1898). The story hails from the times from the early 1800s and beyond, when the child mortality in Finland was rather high, and almost every survivor had lost at least a sibling or two. All that had a lasting effect on certain aspect of Finnish culture, especially the poetry and lullabies of the time. This song is in my top3 Christmas songs and Christmas means family traditions as well to me. As I have grown and getting older I have also started to cry because of a beautiful music. 🇫🇮 👍I just learned that Floor has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She shared the information on her Twitter account, but fortunately the cancer is not aggressive, but still needs surgery and radiation treatment, but she won't lose the breast. So lets all hope for the best for her.

It is really sad news, I think she is being optimistic about the tour though the surgery sounds straightforward, she mentioned radiotherapy which can be gruelling after working in oncology for ten years I've seen how radio can really knock the stuffing out, and the tour starts next month, let's hope she can do it. Lovely reaction there is never any need for being emotional.
