The recent Viking survival hit Valheim comes with a lovely score by Patrik Jarlestam, and so I felt like arranging a couple of the tracks for piano.
The menu theme does a nice job of setting up the wild, dark aesthetic but keeping beauty and a sense of space close to the surface.

I've played 300 hours of this game so far, and I can certify that this guy is FUCKING GOOD.
Yo this is sooooo good. I'm so glad you got the crunchy low note because it's so subtle on the title screen music but once you hear it it's essential.

@@Shinzizzu if you listen in the original soundtrack version it's at 10 and 14 seconds.
It's the same horn instrument that flares up in the initial start of the song. It blends super subtly. You might need good headphones.

You truly fuel my inspiration, ever since I first discovered your Shadow of the Colossus concert performance a long while back. I've been playing since I was very young, but a lot of things got in the way of my progress and I ended up needing to stop lessons at about fourteen years old or so. My career path leaves me very little time to myself, but I try to practice every day, even if just for 30 minutes, but I know my skill would be much better if I stuck with lessons as a kid. I try not to get too down on myself, since I love playing, and watching you really helps me be at ease with my regrets and I'm improving so much every day. Thank you for being such a positive light in my musical journey. Your music helps me through a lot.

So it's transcribe, arrange for piano, notate, practise, record, and some editing.

After the introduction to the instrument and the absolute basics, a beginner should be starting to play with both hands almost straight away, within a few lessons, starting with the simplest material played slowly!
As with anything, you just become used to it. To be honest I started so young I don't really remember learning it, but people I teach tend to adjust to it pretty quickly regardless of age. Just have to start really simply.
