  • Pro Staff Rob Choi recently got his Predator 13 (now the Sportsman Bigwater 132) out to target carp in Virginia.
“Carp are notoriously persnickety about what they want to eat and also spook at the slightest movement or shadow. I was denied over and over again so when I finally got these to eat I was stoked. The first one was easily in the mid 40-inch class that immediately took me into the pads and broke me off. I still thought it was awesome, especially watching it come up and slowly slurp the beetle fly. The second, which wasn't quite as big, came tight and stayed tight. The quiet stability of the Predator 13 definitely helped in locating, getting in to position, and fighting these super fun fish on the 7 weight fly rod.”

Its cool to see someone catch a grass carp!! Theres a pond near me where the grass carp are so large i can feel the kayak move when they swim under. Theyre huge. Ive always wanted to try for one...you just reawakened the urge.

Wish kayak companies would show more videos of true fly anglers not conventional guys moonlighting with fly gear .
