I am so glad you posted this. I grew up behind my dad's TV Sales and Service shop in NYC and learned how to run one of these at the age of 4 in 1958. It was a little suitcase of wonder for me. I used to admire the punch cards and understood that the little holes were allowing contacts to be made when I pulled the little grey handled lever that configured the machine to test that particular tube. I also remember that the machine had a couple of grounding caps for those tubes that used them. It really gave me joy when a customer came in and asked to have a tube tested and my dad would volunteer me to the customer who always marveled that a little guy like me could actually run the machine. I asked my brother about this, which is how I found your video, and he still has the unit in the basement. Many thanks for helping me to relive one of my childhood happy memories. And if my brother reads this, you broke that lamp ! 😎

Can I suggest that you use the "shorts" position before testing quality on a tube? So you can avoid damaging the tester from shorted tubes!! I have one of those almost working but it needs to change a handful of resistor and capacitors.. Very good test machine!!
