Lemongrab used to freak me out lol I remember once my mum walked in my room when lemongrab was swallowing someone and she said (in a African accent,) "Mololo what is this bullshit dis boy has gone mad" and I was banned from watching it
Good to know I wasn't the only one banned from watching this show
i was banned form watching stevan universe because my mom walked in on Rose quartz
I was also banned from adventure time!
Are you still banned?
The movie when I’m watching it: Finn an Jake fighting bad guys
The movie when my mom comes in:
I would be suspicious too if the one person that created me, both my mom and Godess kicked me out because she hated me. That's some deep trust issues.
Lemongrab really did have a deep arc and evolution. Especially on "the mountain" where he struggles with his own existence, being neglected by his mother, having caused so much pain to his earldom and brother and being a sour greasy lemon, he just could not accept himself. He tried to escape his problem by disolving into matthew where he would supposedly become a step toward the perfect being without having to deal with his own existence but on that journey he managed to realize perfection is unatainable an infinite stair and thus destroyed the false promise of perfection amd accepted himself for what he was, even filling the hole in his ceiling with lemonjohn grease, a part of himself and proudly admits he is grease. That is actually a really powerful and inspiring message and journey for this character 🍋
I kinda hoped that this video would have delved into Lemongrap actually more than just on surface level went over his story. But I guess that's on me since: "Explained" in titles haven't really meant anything for a good while now. There just is stuff to pretty easily analyzed in the story as well it being interesting one
this comment was far more interesting than this whole video, which is just lemongrab's short story
@@aleksisuuronen5969 @Aleksi Suuronen i think what you were looking for (it was a year ago sorry for the ping xd) is more akim to this video titled "Lemongrab: a character study" by lavaman
I actually understood the logic behind a large amount of his decisions. His intense punishments come from a misunderstanding about how you should handle that stuff: he likely believes that in order to prevent crime, you must metaphorically hit it as hard as possible- so anyone who breaks his rules is given exorbitant punishments because he thinks it'll deter crime. He watches people sleeping because he believes there is a distinct lack of order- he's not fapping to it, as it were: he's trying to police people. He believes that food should not be on a blanket because it'll make it hard to clean- because eating on bed blankets does that.
Even though the episode was inconsequential in the grand scheme, Wasn’t there one where Lemongrab was stuck in a dungeon with the Ice King, Tree Trunks, Neptr, and Shelby?
I can confirm, there was. I wouldn't say he was stuck in it by random events happening though :P
And the minecraft one
In that Episode he knocks out a giant rat and eats apple pie from its mouth. Also loses a lot of his juice
Yeah we learned he has a photographic memory. That's why Ice King brought him so he can remember the Map on the wall so they could escape.

This video is.................ACCEPTABLE!!!!!
Agreed
Lemongrab clone: UNACCEPTABLLLLE
SAYING ACCEPTABLE IS UNACCEPTABLE
@@starplatinum3945 SAYING UNACCEPTABLE IS VERY ACCEPTABLE
MMMMN YES
I found the funniest part to be when lemongrab wrote a note saying unmake me when golb shows up
I like how after Lemongrab saw his granduncle destroy a lemon, that he writes a note to his mom asking her to unmake him, because even he is done with this insanity.
When did that happen?
@@lunakingsley.7247 The pink dude is Princess Bubblegum's uncle. She made him, but he played the part of her uncle.
@@lunakingsley.7247 the finale
It's just "kill me" but family friendly fr💀
eating an apple pie from the mouth of a gigantic unconscious rat while saying "very acceptable" was the moment that i finally understood. He is crazy and also funny but more crazy
MAKE PIES SLAVE
Lemongrab 2 was always the kinder of the two Lemongrabs. It's even shown early in the Lemonhope episode when Lemongrab 2 cuts his food in half to feed a lemon whose food was taken by the gluttonous Lemongrab 1. I think this shows he was made with more kindness than the original when PB learned how she screwed up the first time around
I think the reason why he was kind is because, unlike Lemongrab 1, Lemongrab 2 grew up with someone. He wasn't just shut in a castle: he had another Lemongrab to talk to and work off of. This made him more considerate because he had someone else to think about rather than himself. I see him as look at what Lemongrab could have been if Bubblegum spent more time with him or gave him friends in his youth, which makes Lemongrab 1's comment of "we hate you," in the grables episode sting so much more. Lemongrab 1 hates 2 because 2 is a reminder of everything he is not.
I think the writers of the show based Lemongrab's personality on the symptoms of autism. A lot of the subtext in the show is that he can be accepted and accommodated despite his differences from most of the candy people. Another facet of his character is the agony of being an imperfect creation. He's clearly pained by the fact that he was made different from the other candies, and alternates between blaming himself and blaming God (princess bubblegum, in his case). His story is one of learning to accept that you've been created as a flawed being.
I was diagnosed as an adult a couple years ago and always kinda related to his character in a weird way since I was a kid
This is literally my internal turmoil every single day
This, exactly this.
Found Lemongrab oddly relatable for this exact reason. The agony of trying to figure out what feels so fundamentally off about my existence.
I wouldn't consider autism a "flaw" tbh but okay.
It has been a long time since I’ve watched adventure time so feel free to correct me if I’m missing a vital piece of information about princess bubblegum’s character. Doesn’t that make her a massive hypocrite in the Netty episode. She explains to Finn that her brother is different, but they don’t have to understand it, just accept it. But she doesn’t treat lemongrab with any acceptance, and mainly does what she can to get him out of sight out of mind.
Wait. If Lemongrab and LSP tie the knot would that technically make bubblegum lumpy space royalty?
No as all the lumpy space royalty of that union would come LSPs side. So Lemongrab would become Lumpy space royalty while still being candy kingdom royalty as he is the heir to that throne(as seen in too young). Which thinking on it, if Lemongrab and LSP have a kid (supposing LSP is and continues to be heir to lumpy space) that kid could potentially inherit both the candy kingdom and lumpy space someday
Fair enough. In the moment i wasn't thinking about how royal hierarchies worked but either way something like that is where i was going, i just thought in the wrong order and tbh idk how the finer details of the passing of the crown past familial bloodlines and the duke/dutches either in real life or in universe.
There's a choose your own adventure time book where that's lemongrab plan, hes thwarted by bmo
The people who disliked the video is very *UNACCEPTABLE*
7 years DuNgEoN!!!!!
Those mutated creations look like forced fusions clusters from steven universe
I agree
This video is garbage tho. It’s so cringe and awful for many more reasons
Blackmore 「Catch The Rainbow」 you are cringe for exaggerating
The fact that people don't know who he is truly *unacceptable!* This story however is acceptable
Jesus Christ is Lord. Please read at least three books of the Bible. The first book of each testament and one you chose yourself. As you do practice forgiveness. It is literally important. To be forgiven we must forgive. Jesus Christ taught that, but so few read enough to figure that out for themselves. It is mandatory,
@@jamesmayle3787 when had they even mention Jesus in this a comment? Are you talking about the classic UNACCEPTABLE? -
Lemonsweets is actually adorable
Lemonjon is by far the greatest thing the Lemongrabs have done and even as a flawed creation he ultimately exibits more empathy and compassion then the other two could muster combined. Well done Lemonjon you will be missed.
Sometimes i feel like he's staring at me when i sleep at night just like he does with the candy citizens
Relatable
Thanks for the new addition to my intrusive thoughts
Pb was doing that long before he did
This retrospective made me realize another nice touch of lemongrab’s development during the end of season montage.
During his journey notice at 8:22 that princess bubblegum is shown wanting to play catch with lemon grab (with a glove as a ball but that’s not important just typical adventure time cuteness).
Look again at 11:08 what’s on lemongrab’s hand.
I think he’s come to accept his relationship with bubblegum or maybe learned to give himself what he couldn’t get from bubblegum .
I hope he doesn’t show up in distant lands. I really like how his story ended.
On the start of the episode where he climbs the moutain we see that he alreadt sleeped with a baseball glove on his hand at that point, so i think that PB playng baseball with the glove is an explanation for that, he sleeps with a glove cause his deepest dream is to be accepted by his creator.
Yeah and when Fin and Jake first went to the Lemon Castle they saw a lot of empty rooms with baseball gloves
In the spanish version instead of lemongrease they call him lemonogre. And its funny when he freaks out everytime they call him an ogre
When my role model to pursue healthier life choices is a lemon.
i wish this had gone into his psyche a bit more. lemongrab definitely exhibits some behavior on the spectrum and his relationship with pb alone was worth exploring in depth. i think he's find. change is slow and he does seem to gain more humanity with each new version of himself.
as someone that has lemon grab screaming “UNACCEPTABLE” as their text notification tone, this brings me immense joy (also confusion as each time I hear unacceptable I think I’m being socially interacted with-)
Despite how creepy and disturbin Lemongrab could be, I love him with all my heart!!!
"PB turns back to 18 years old" yeah, 1,800 XD
Crush: *I love you*
Me: *I find your proposal HMMMMMMMM AccEPTABLE!!*
I feel like Lemongrab was the best character besides Marcy
MY FAVORITRE!!!!
idk BMO and Simon are pretty cool
I like tree trunks so sassy
Marcy seems to try too hard to me.
@@rustyshackleford9588 I get what you mean tbh, but at the same time they pay it off very nicely
I always found intriguing the fact that all the society is based around lemons, plants, people, animals, all lemons, yeah, the original lemongrabs are tecnhically made out of sugar and candy, but all the people that live in the lemon city are made out of the lemons grew there. Its fascinating to think that they are what they grow, what they eat and what the ride
Lemongrab really went from weird to North Korean dictator to hero.
Lemon grab in later seasons reminds me of a Neuro-divergent person who slowly learning to cope with his atypicality
Oh gosh, even Lemongrab managed to turn his life around. Mrrr... my current life style is... UNacCeptAbLE!
*sigh* time for that self care stuff, I guess
Good luck, man.
Hell yea brother
I believe in you dude!!
You got it you lemon man
Lemongrab is a perfect example of why PB wasn't a great ruler, when she created him he was in total pain and anguish and what did PB do? She abused him and isolated him driving him further insane.
1,000,000 years dungeon to the 3 people that got here before me
*UNECCEPTABLE*
We can't blame him for being the way that he is. Considering PB didn't really help him with his social skills, it's no wonder he can cooperate with others.
1:12 She didn’t know how to deal with her own failures. And where did that bring her? Back to me.
“Lemon not need SQUEEZE lemon to survive”. One of my favorite lines from the show.
Lemon need squeeze lemon to survive that's the only way
Those who not proceed will have 7 years dungeon
It’s a tragic story in many ways. Lemongrab is really fucking weird, intense and uncomfortable to be around…and not only is he *painfully aware of it* he doesn’t know how to fix it.
oddly neglected the fact that Lemon Hope is incredibly selfish and resistant to helping people, only doing so he could stop thinking about it.
As a neurodivergent person I find Netty and lemongrab to be very relatable. I too do not like picnics on the ground I mean do people just sit down and eat on a damn blanket with ants and bacteria!? I think that Nettie is an example of a neurodivergent person who has nothing wrong with them and just has a way of coping that might be abnormal to neurotypical people. Lemon grab is an example of a flawed neurodivergent person who has trouble grasping reality. It takes him a while to learn how to be with other people and I understand that.
What's interesting about picnics is they were originally meant to be treated as a sort of luxury activity that was a showcase of wealth. Once it became more common it stopped being seen that way. So, on one had it's treated as a thing that is meant to be a social activity, but there also used to be classiest implications as well.
Yeah, your point makes sense and I respect it. I just don't think it exactly excuses some of Lemongrab's worst actions like EATING HIS BROTHER!!!
With me... I just like the unmake me line at the end of the series... Last episode was great but that was one of the funniest line in the episode...
Okay so I know nothing about Adventure Time and I also think he's a creep but here me out: Lemongrab is an allegory for a mentally disabled child who was neglected (and grows up into a horrible dictator). Right from the start, Lemongrab has great issues (obviously), but besides being annoying, this video doesn't give a lot of introspection as to who he was before PB disowned him. After a while, he turned, well, sour, because all that neglect was probably traumatizing for him. Through his life and later incarnations, however, he learns how to overcome his trauma and become a better person.
Am I just an outsider who's making broad assumptions in the name of awareness/acceptance? Maybe, but it doesn't hurt to voice your observations.
Well, actually he was just made that way. So he was always just cuckoo. As PB stated, "There's nothing wrong with him, he's just like this." But I like your perspective.
I always viewed him as an allegory for a child with autism. He’s strange and no one understands him, and his mother isn’t sure what to do with him. It describes how not to handle the situation. Casting him off to live alone and not interact with others made him sour and bitter, pampering his every whim and will makes him greedy and foul, what it takes is giving him responsibility and having him interact with others to make him a happy healthy individual
@@irwinos719 man, that is so true!
I don’t really see lemon grab 3 as the same guy as lemon grab 1. He just seems more wise, less entitled. It almost feels as if he’s a completely distinct entity from the first two lemongrabs
I felt like Whitney had the best fun recording this episode 😂😂 committed to the screeching
Lemon 3 is my favorite Lemongrab. He has the best parts of his predecessors.
I say he is the most “ humble” of them. The first one is annoying, and the second one is just straight up terrifying
@@ebanimations6315no lemon grab one was evil, annoying and terrifying and the second lemongrab was the humble one cause always tries to be sweet to their subjects while the first one bullies them
All this shows for me is that PB is a terrifying person. One can’t play at god so whimsically
I love the part when he sees a lemon getting destroyed and then hands pb a note that says “un-make me” XD
The lemonhope episode terrified me so much as a kid. That was the worst episode of the show for me, even with all the twisted stuff that went down in adventure time.
For me Lemongrab went from the scariest adventure time character to the most relatable.
I think we can agree that we have a bit of Lemongrab in us all
Yup
Yup! 💖👑✨
Nope, im just perfect
Princess Bubble Gum is disgusting for creating Lemon Grab and not just destroying him like she did to many others.
This is one of the most disturbing character arcs I’ve seen
HE'S SO WONDERFULLY AWKWARD AND I LIVE FOR THAT
Shoutout to Lemonsweets and that rat who ate the pie
I also love the metaphore of him being too full of himself to consume the good in him. That was use pretty literally.
You forgot the wish wizard episode. He was funny in that one.
Yes
when lemon grab turned his head all the way back to give me nightmares for five years
Coming back in 2023… talk about unacceptable.
5:05
Day 463 of quarantine the Doritos are gone we have no choice
5:08 I would like to make my sibling hear that at night while he's trying to sleep
Nice. Imma go blast lemongrab screaming in my room at 9 pm
That made me chuckle.
Good summation of a good character. One point I'd like to make, though. The Lemon people didn't dislike Lemonhope. It was just Lemongrab who disliked him. Ultimately it was the entirety of the Lemon People who helped Lemonhope to escape. I don't think they would have done that if they disliked him as much as Lemongrab does.
4:46. Is anyone else not a little weirded out by the brains of the Lemongrabs? I just think it's a little weird to think about. I forgot about this and just assumed that they were solid lemon material.
Also, where do the organs come from? That's another weird thing.
as an autistic person i really relate to lemongrab
Me watching carol and Tuesday, and seeing Cybele
THIS IS UNEXPLAINABLE
The thing is when the two lemon grabs are sowed together he only talks about himself but all the times before that he would obsess over the faults of others
Episode with Lemonhope where Lemongrab 1 ate his brother traumatised me as a child so much, when I saw it for the first time on TV. For a long time I was too scared to watch Adventure Time XP
Mmm... This video is acceptable.
I have to assume that when lemongrab 3 got made it was with parts of both lemongrab 1 and 2, since 1 & 2 had very different morality and personality toward the end while 3 seems more like a combination of the two
The fact that the thing he wanted the most was to get along with his momma is just so sweet- i mean sour but y'all get what i mean ☺💛
Is it me, or Lemongrab is really interesting to me in a weird way? I don't find him creppy just....interesting
Him, and Iceking before the crown took over is my favourite characters possibly.
Lemongrab fucking tramatized me as a kid, mostly because of the episodes were he ATE the lemongrab 2.
I appreciate Lemongrab now that I'm older now.
He has really become a better version of himself in the end.
Creep -> Lemon H*tler -> Happy
5:07 Lol that "ONLY OOOONNE!" part was funny.
I would always watch adventure time as a kid, my dad will always come in whenever lemongrab is there. Yeah.
Lemongrab: *is just screaming*
Me: I don't wanna lose my hearing 😢
I actually have autism and strangely enough I relate to the third incarnation of lemon grab. Especially when I was younger. Incredibly awkward and very very uncomfortable with seemingly normal things.
Those guys aren't lemon Jon they are the collective of Mathew
I'm disturbed by how relateable lemon grab is
I identify so much with Lemongrab that Im going to get a tattoo of him
Lemongrab eating his clone was my first introduction to adventure time it was on a public tv that was muted with no subtitles so I had no context whatsoever
lemon grab devouring his brother is just so disturbing..
compared to later episodes it's tame, but was pretty screwed up for it's time
I only started watching the show after seeing a meme of Lemongrab screaming “UNACCEPTABLE” and I got hooked on the show 😂
this character deeply disturbed me when I was a child. Now I'm 19 and he still deeply disturbs me.
I don't know why but I imagine that Kim Jong-un and lemon grab are the same person
Lemongrab reminds me of my brother. Loud, obnoxious, but can be really funny and protective when he needs to
Your vocals are impressive and I can honestly say I'm jealous. You sound amazing! Thanks for the backstory on lemongrab, put all together it makes a lot more sense
"I AM GOING TO EAT YOOOUUUUUU!"
_horrible screaming_
"I DID IT!"
6:04 I just realized something
Look at the toilet in the background, it’s a manual juicer
Now try and picture lemongrab taking a dump or takin a piss
YOU REVEAL MY LEMON BUSINESS YOU ARE NOW 1000 QUADRILLION YEARS IN THE DUNGEON FOR 7000 DECADES
also lets be honest, the real villain there is princess bubblegum
Also At the end he writes on a pice of paper "unmake me" And gives it to PB after he sees some one squeeze a lemon. I was laughing Soo much at that seen.😂
5:08, 6:20 Okay. That hurt my ears.
White lemongrab or lemongrab 2 was always alot kinder and actually sort of felt empathy as he shared a piece of bread
Lemongrab couldn't have been the first experiment gone wrong, because her family was made before that. I understand that was written later on, but it's a little hole. Adventure time has less of those than most show, so we'll let it slide.
He’s gotten the most development out of any character
The scene with the Lemongrabs fighting over a doll that they refer to it as "our son" is so f*cking weird and disturbing that even David Lynch would leave the room...
So Lemongrab is King Saul with a redemption story
Liked purely for the commitment at the end there. 👍👍
But we all still love The
U N A C C E P T A B L E E
I want to know what PB intended Lemongrab to be. It's difficult to imagine.
When lemongrab is in his armor i can tell he has becomed a good companion
