Waterman Dauntless - A Restoration Journey

Thanks for the restoration. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. I wish I had the patience to do this. I have a Waterman that was not used or cleaned in over 70 years. I took it to a store that is known for their expertise and it came out wonderful. But there are times that I should be able to do the repair myself.

Thank you! It was a learning experience but I enjoyed it. Probably the largest step I skipped was polishing the body and cap. But this pen is in pretty good shape, and I kind of enjoy seeing small signs of use.

Wow! What a pen with a little elbow grease and you have a great pen. It came with extra's with the Flex nib. Congratulations.

Especially the nib.

this pen should use a #18 sac, but i believe you measured the sac size without first removing the old sac bits still attached to the nipple, thus increasing the size you needed...

Thanks for the information! I thought that I cleaned the section pretty thoroughly, is there a tool/technique that you recommend?

@@fortheloveofpens I use a dull X-acto knife blade to scrape all the old sac off the nipple and after it’s removed I use 800 grit sandpaper and give it a couple good twists
