I just came here before watching your video for the Kaweco Classic Sport pen, and, before watching, I thought to myself “I wonder if the Kaweco Sport keeps up with this pen”. When you showed us the pen at 2:24, my chin dropped to the ground and stayed there for a while. Now, I have no words.
I'm sorry....usually I wait until the end of the video before commenting, but I can't stop laughing. It's....seriously tiny! That is amazing, really. They gave it a clip and everything. And I can just imagine Azizah's reaction to how cute it is hahahaha
I love seeing stuff like this, very fascinating! And judging by the price, that's one hell of a collectible...
(If anyone's wondering, it's currently priced at $3500)
All kidding aside about size matters, this is an awesome piece of historical memorabilia. So good of the owner to let you show it to us.
This is absolutely ridiculous and a complete riot. What a great opportunity to be able to review it! I am pleased to see the degree of seriousness you granted to this pen in your review. Great job, as always!
Bravo on keeping a straight face throughout and for not springing the nib with your super-sonic strength of a thousand mortals.
I've seen some small 8 cm ballpoint pen before. They are actually quite popular here in Sweden amongst those who spend their time betting on horses. Anyway, I would never have thought it was possible for there to be a fountain pen in this size. O_o
I enjoyed you enjoying this really fun and unique pen. I anticipated that a laboratory grade micrometer would appear and you would tell us what size the nib is! I'm thinking a #.015 is about right.
lol 8 minutes and 31 seconds before the first "that's what she said" I am impressed
“I am impressed” - That was _not_ what she said.
Thank you, slightly younger Stephen with your old musical theme. Could be used with the bizarre Traveller's collectible tiny notebook set.
Anzan Hoshin Roshi That would actually be an amazing match :-).
'Does it post?... Does it matter?!' haha
If you're worried about losing the cap then posting would be good.
Amazing! I never thought I'd see a review of this pen. It somehow reminds me of the Sheaffer No-Nonsense, at least in appearance.
If anyone is about to pull a great stunt, is by using this pen for an hour straight for making a long and detailed presentation draft. Probably a very good tool and exercise to increase your hand's endurance for small grips, if you don't cramp your hand that is, hehe.
I actually laughed out loud when you were about to post it - or not, as the case may be. You should see it next to the contemporary Waterman's 20. It is extremely cute indeed. And super rare. I just realized that Gary Lehrer sent it to you. He's a legend, and a great guy. He literally wrote the book about Waterman's, and he lives one town away from the city where Waterman's hard rubber parts were made. I grew up two towns away. I even got to spend a lovely afternoon with him at his house last summer when I bought a Waterman's 552 1/2 LEC with a fine superflex nib from about 1925 from him, and we've talked at the Commonwealth Pen Show in Boston the past few years. I love how connected we all are. And what an honor for you to have had the opportunity to enjoy it, and what a treat for us to see it. Thank you.
Never heard/see you smile and giggle so much in a review 🙃
what a wonderful fanciful thing
Cheers Stephen
This is the funniest video I've seen for a while. Very cool opportunity to see one of these in action. Solid work, Dr. Brown.
I would love to have that sticking out of my shirt pocket. So cool.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video! Amazing pen both historically and mechanically! And then the comparisons you were doing were hysterical. Also, I just can't help and think what prof. Danglebury thinks of this pen!
One of these with a damaged nib and scratches on it sold for around USD 2,000 on Ebay. Well...
Remarkable! Such precision! I can't imagine it being made today.
Thanks for this Stephen! Great fun! And thanks for making me aware of Go Pens!
how did they create that microscopic masterpiece!! ??
Quelle merveille de miniature! A work of art for collectors.
Your review was so much fun to watch. The pen is adorable, and I'm very glad you showed it to us.
Ah, Stephen - what an incredible pen and review! It is smaller than the toothpicks I use! I truly wish I could afford such a precious little thing, but I'd lose it almost immediately. Keep it away from your cats! THANK YOU for the review and THANK YOU for the folks who very generously lent it to you.
Enjoyed the Orthodox Chant music too. I've had withdrawals. :D
This is such an unusual item! Thank you Stephen for sharing and reviewing. I really think this review shows how deep you and and people following you are into this great hobby. We are all insane! I bet many of us are moved looking at this cute baby fountain pen :-)
This was absolutely amazing! I want one now!
Yo Stephen, i have an original pen pouch for this pen. Ok, so its a No 18 pen sac but it works.
Grandmia Pens Haha :-)!
Makes me think of the Cristopher Walken / wristwatch scene in Pulp Fiction... :D
That was some impressive writing for the size, I wouldn't be able to use it haha
You could stick it in the end of a lead holder...
Never knew anything like this even existed! Wow! Cuteness overload!!! :)
And a writing sample? Seriously? Lol You never cease to amaze!
Seems like a good workhorse pen! Does it flex? And what are the nib options?
Maravillosa. One of your best reviews.
Wow! That is smaller then The Pet. It is adorable!! But I would loose it. It would get lost in a pen case!
I watched all your videos and this is the most interesting and laughed alot.
from Japan.
I've got the normal-size version of this! (still a small pen, as most vintage ones are)
If you're talking about the 52, that is not a small pen. It is a fairly standard sized fountain pen, and thicker than 99% of ballpoints. Many, but not even most fountain pens made today are oversized, and the notion that most vintage fountain pens are smaller is simply untrue. There were ringtops made for women (ladies, in the parlance of the time), vest pens, standard sized pens, and oversized pens, like the Waterman's 55 (of which I have three - they're the perfect fountain pen, to my way of thinking), the 56, which is really big (about the size of the Pelikan M1000), the 58, which is enormous, and the 20, which is comically huge - even bigger than the Emperor. These pens were all made concurrently, and to see the doll pen next to the 20 is absolutely hilarious.
you made my day Stephen 😂 😂 😂
I'm amazed at how well that writes.
Cool. It's real. I wish it had a clip for small back pocket notebooks.
Wow, i laughed so hard! 😂😂
Thanx for sharing..
Saw one go for 750$ Odd that there are not that many of these
Is that a pen in your pocket, or are you happy to see me? she asked.
Hilarious! This pen was made for you to review it. Gladly see you later :)
Maybe it was for doll's houses?
Writing sample 7:02
oh i do believe that is what she said
How much it cost ,???
$1,000

Sir I want a review of ink tank fountain pen
Of course this wasn't useful but it sure was a lot of fun!
Does it post?
Yes, according to the information on his website (the link is in the description), but for more practical information, see 4:38.
Waiting for the opposite side review...
Wow, this pen is amazing.
I'd like one for my doll :)
If I have it, I am gonna lose it within a week.
Finally Barbie has a fountain pen too lol
oh that sweet sweet monk sound mmmhmmm does a fellah good
actually I think your writing looks better
Does it flex??😂😂😂
What is that? Wow...lol
Should have used something milder than a Pelikan Royal Blue on a rare vintage pen, since it known to be highly acidic.
Dr. Brown i believe our president Donald Trump could use this pen for is small hands! I hear money is not a problem for him anyways.
Bouvard C. You wish. The Namiki Emperor as shown is more fit.
you wasted your money
Ghazanfar Abbas It is not my pen, as explained in the video.
ok fine
