Hey Jamie, James your "Sol Goode" crew member here. Always respected your work ethic. Midwesterner who Did crew 1993-2012 (LA 2000-2012). Not missing it. It seems it's now "official" you do not need to be there in the Hollywood neighborhood yo described (with all the closed storefronts). You could do a "time out/away" for inspiration. If that time out becomes indefinite - and a new life begins elsewhere, just know you did good.
On my now long time away I thought of 3 great "film-ey things" to do, but honestly, even if they dropped 10 mil on me tomorrow to make them with final cut, I couldn't get excited. There's no more film stock, no more distinctive actors in their prime, I would cringe at festivals or interviews, and who cares if the modern day audience approves of it - I'm not interested in what they think or impressing them, so they can forget it next day. I'm Not above it all, I truly miss having the desire to romanticize creative endeavors, and the pursuit of getting in on the action of moviemaking. It's just not there.

I’m with you, there’s so many distractions across all forms of media, not that all of it is bad, but they have us all by the balls with all these distractions. I truly feel like the last time things were somewhat right was a decade ago. The people we reference control all this shit and feed everybody what they want us to believe and think and sadly a lot of people are gullible and sheep-minded.

As a long time admirer of yours who recognizes you as a real artist, and a fellow artist myself coming up on 11 years in LA, take this for what it's worth - your comedy and acting are second to none. You've brought so much joy to so many people over the span of your career and while surely the real world is sorting out it's mad, chaotic problems, artists cannot lose sight of what matters most - bringing their best selves to their crafts and creating things that give people a break from the fu**ing hellfire outside all of our doors. Please do not let the ever changing politics of Hollywood sour your idea of where things are going or what it can be. I'd be lying if I said that even in my decade in LA that I haven't seen things change so dramatically out there on the streets and corners. Change is relentless and inevitable, for better or worse, but any artist who has made a living of their art is no stranger to adapting while the sh*t goes down. I personally fear that conspiracies and darker social issues are pulling some of our best creators into a state of mind that eats away at creative inspiration. Try to remember that in your earlier days during Scream, Romeo and Juliet, the world still had serious problems, albeit different - but your youth and excitement kept your eye on your purpose and gave you the freedom to focus on your passions. It becomes harder with age, surely, but it doesn't mean that age-earned perspective has to devour our inspiration. We just need to find different ways to dial our focus without being dismissive of the real world.
Get excited for the fall guy. It's an original IP tentpole in a world of preexisting IP prequel/sequel fast-food-film. Get excited to tell your stories from back in the day and for what's ahead. We need them from you and everyone else dedicated to giving the world something to click on and escape to when the hard work day comes to an end. That's all I got man.

Jamie I admired you since the Jamie Kennedy Experiment. I looked you up today and found out you're doing comedy this weekend in AZ. I bought tickets. Now I found out you're awake to the BS happening. I'm so excited to find out you're open.
LA is different now. I remember being a kid and walking around downtown and Olvera Street and Hollywood Blvd with my parents and seeing all the shops and tourists. Back then it felt great. You could feel the excitement of the tourists being in LA. Things felt hopefully. I went back a year ago and nothing felt the same. It felt gross and dirty. There were people on the streets and your couldn't tell if they were on drugs or demon possessed. It's all different and it makes me sad.

JFK's voice didn't affect him until he was 43. His sister definitely has it too. Their Aunt had severe Neurological issues, His Uncles did too. So likely hereditary. It's a Neurological issue where the nerves in the vocal cords become damaged and they start to tremble. Botox every 3-4months will fix it but it's bad for his bad heart. It's called spasmodic dysphonia.

They Live is totally a documentary- more relevant today than at the time. Sorry about that guy who just wanted to hassle you about SotM. I realize even with my own positive and negative comments that I've done that to filmmakers on social media and I just want to slap myself in the face when I remember what and how much I said. Even if its positive, just the gushing excess- I think of my own work and I don't need anyone to say those things to me.
