That Blake Hahn hat is really cool. My Parents when I was just a kid took to the Fair grounds speedway in okc and there was a black #12 sprint car his grand dad Emmett drove and he was our favorite.
I've never been a fan but his crew guy saw me walking the dreaded loooooooong pit road at Devils Bowl last year and stopped to give me a ride. For the short time we talked he seemed like a great guy so maybe I need to meet Blake.
You won't see a lot of drivers from WoO and Late Models jump into a big block modified. Though Big Block Modified drivers seem to be very versatile when moving up to 410s and Super Lates. The same has never been the case in mods. Except for a few very exceptional drivers, few drivers have been able to come from other top classes and be competitive in a big block modified. Especially in the last say 20 years. Guys like Schrader, Bodine, Stewart, and a few others had good runs. Kinser and Swindel were always fast at Super DIRT Week on the mile in a modified. Same with Dave Blaney. I mean it's not like it's a regular accurance either. No one is going to move from a national tour to regularly race a typically local one. But there are quite a few drivers who have wanted to get into a Big Block Mod but have yet had the opportunity. A young Jeff Gordon and his father were turned down by Brett Hearn to try during Florida Speedweeks. Kyle Larson has expressed a lot of interest to have an opportunity to drive a big block modified. In the early 2000s drivers like Vic Coffery (TMac's teammate and partner at the time) raced Super Lates, as did drivers Billy Decker, Tim Fuller, and Larry Wight. Fuller even getting a chance in the Rocket House car before Sheppard would jump in and dominate the World of Outlaws late model tour. All had some great runs and should talent in the cars. Jeff Heotzler once drove a Bloomquist car at OCFS during a late model tour race. I have noticed especially in the lower Sprint classes like 360 and 305s modified drivers seem to excel in them. Even drivers who had a mediocre time in modifieds seem to find success in the sprint car ranks. I really would like to see some of the big touring teams to look towards the Big Blocks for driver opportunities. Right now would be a great time to poach say a Payne or Yankowski. Two drivers really coming into their own right now who should be looking to step up in their carriers to bigger and better series.
Man if I were young again I'd jump on the Lucas Late Model tour as a crewman in a heartbeat. But if I didn't move up I'd have to move on after 5 years at the most.
Well thank you Kasey Kahne for all you’ve done for sprint car racing, I wonder if Spencer was jmr racings first pick because going from day to him it’s gonna be a huge letdown
Racing (all classes) isn't really all that different from the regular work-a-day world. I always tell people, "Help is hard to find, good help is rare,"
Let's face it,racing in a touring series is big business. Anybody who is successful in business has to be a workaholic! This causes problems in the family because of time away from home. It takes a special woman to deal with that while raising children and running the household.
id love to go out on the road and work for a top team, but even then the pay isnt worth half of what those guys do, u have to do it for the love of the sport and that doesnt pay the bills unfortunately
The Donny Schatz crew chief change is not a good comparison. The fans know the real reason why Donny Schatz dropped off. Same reason why Zeb Wise dropped off......we all know
If by take a few years off you mean from series racing I totally agree. He's in his mid 40's. I love Kasey but before long he's going to be Bill Rose. I too think he should put a shoe in his car and then pick and choose what he wants to do in a third car. Kind of like he did with Sweet and McFadden.
He’s not trying to win the championship guys. He’s a racer and racers want to race fast cars, the man is out there living a great life with his family on the road and seems to be enjoying himself. He is all smiles and friendly to the kids with long lines for autographs after races too
Would you rather make less money being sweets crew chief picking up wins/championships working for a top tier team like KKR or make a little more money to work on a mid pack car and be lucky to get one win a year?
Absolutely the team /crew road life is tough.
Just think though, guys used to cross the country in dually crew cab pick up trucks with a bench seat.
Before getting the ride that would lead him to the Lucas Championship, Tim McCreadie was racing out of a dually single hauler.
Great job, Justin, as always.
Rtj testing at Charlotte in a sprint car, well he called it having fun...lol
Is there any news on where Justin Peck is heading if not in the 13 car?

I hope more drivers are at World Finals in all divisions. It will just about be the only show in town. Great show

Wolfgang didn't want to work with Crouch
Im wanting to get back into the crew side of racing again after doing it when i was younger. Id like more info
Great show Thank You.

I like this move for Kasey K too. I hope he runs better, when he decides to scratch that itch.

A special woman and a good boyfriend that understands when the husband is home, he comes first... literally
Chase worked miracles in the 2ks.
Who has been constantly fast in that car? Anyone. Anyone?
Austin McCarl was years ago
@@jamiecrawford8133 true. Did Austin or Terry set it up or have input? Who knows.
Pay them more money. Pretty easy to figure it out.
The team owners are losing money every year probably 300,000 plus this is a heavy blow.
great show
Is Rick Eckert going to race in the Phoenix city national 100
Do you think McCready run the chili bowl this year?
No Rico and Marks.

I would not look for Reutzel to go HL in 25. He is perfectly happy running close to home.
As of now, he’s going on the road. It’s confirmed. They (RSR) want a charter.
@@NicoleSignorCreative Awesome!
Who do you think Mark Richards will take as the new Rocket1 house car driver ?
JOSH RICHARDS
B Shepp
BShepp to R1.
wheres Lee Stauffer?
Tanner Thorson to the cbj 5?

Is TMAC running the national 100 this year
Wow
In my opinion, Kahne should take a few years off and hire someone like Sye Lynch to wheel the KKR 9
Or Chase Randall? Timms is amazing also.

@@champeyon489 I thought jr was going to be a west coast car next year. I hope you are right- that would be killer!
Hey why not just pay them more they are making money and your dumb to think not

The crapierer your race season goes the more your family commitments grow ,
Go figure . .
