Here in Australia nothing can be mounted under the dash, like gauges, I've been told it's even illegal to have a aftermarket oil gauges because too many have leaked, radio looks excellent, sounds half decent, some AC/DC or Metallica would have been good 😅🤣 car looks nice, wishing you a great and prosperous New Year
Nice setup !! Everything is looking very clean on that 65 !!! Great job Joe. My old Demon just has the AM radio. Looks like this could work for me. The bluetooth is nice when you travel and loose stations from town to town. Have one in my Freightliner for OTR. Thx for showing us ! 👍
Nice, been thinking about one of those for my '68RR. They have a roller knob kit to use in place of the regular knobs. I don't know how good it sounds but it sure looks good and saves that dash.
I bought the RetroSound Redondo for my '69 Roadrunner convertible, which had only two door speakers. I also replaced the speakers. It sounds good, but most importantly I can connect my ipod and use my cell phone Bluetooth. 😀
Thats pretty damned cool! So about the antenna. Back in the day I saw some retired marketing videos with old muscle cars and such in it. One of the vids was from 1967 and featured a wild early 20s couple sitting on the beach in a Coronet jamming to some station, sitting on the hood on a blanket.. in the corner of the shot was that antenna fully extended. Later in the ad it showed them driving but the antenna down all the way. I mean thats pretty indicative of what the manufacturer was intending.
Hey Joe. This is the first I've seen of this stereo.. Always learning!!! As usual, it's hard to see in the video, but the accessory deal looked like it could take the place of the lighter in the ashtray. NO??? That would be a cool place for it!! I'm not just sure how most people do it, but I have seen many of these cars with 6x9's in the package tray and looking very factory... In all my previous 65's the music has come from the two pipes..... ;)
My 68 D200 still has the original AM radio, had a RadioShack add on FM under dash, took that out. Radio didn't work so I decided to put my vintage guitar amp skills to use and fix it. Antenna was unplugged, works great. 😂 Might see if the FM dohicky works someday but I'm happy with an AM radio anyways.
@@JustMoparJoe Time to throw in a Baby shark, or a Rick roll on the memory. Some sort of ear bug song will do as a substitute to make that memory volatile. P.S. The install looks great, just like a factory install.
I just asked the owner. “That radio is solid and everyone always things it’s original unless it lights up and gives it away. If you don’t have to hack the dash it’s always better. This one is better than mounting one in the glove box”
Cool Joe! Too late for me, chalk it up to young & dumb, : / (in '78-'79) some day maybe I'll find a decent '68 B'Cuda instrument cluster, but? Good work Brother!
Great job on the install as usual joe. Looks like it belongs in that dash. Do think it only has one speaker cut out in rear deck is so if you ordered it with rear defogger you would have a place for the blower motor? Just a thought you know.

Send that old 8 track radio and I will make it Bluetooth for you for a fraction of the cost, you will lose the 8 track option but still have the AM and Bluetooth or loose the AM and keep 8 track whichever you prefer but then you can play through your phone and use your phone as you equalizer to tune it to you liking. Can also do some cool stuff with you guage lights that are so dim on these old cars. Can make them led dimmable but also track mode will make the dash lights change colors making it like a built in shift light. Green up to 5500rpms yellow up to 7500rpm and red at 10000rpms where we usually shift these mopars at or any color or RPMs you want..
Awesome Video! Very well put together, and the installation looks great. Thanks for sharing!🙂
Thank you!
It's nice to see there is a solution to give us all the 21st century creature comforts without the hackery!! Thanks Joe!!
You bet! Thanks buddy
You said 😊 it!!!
Great installation! Awesome radio! Another classic dash saved!👍
Thanks brother!
Good job. Looks real nice. Under dash work is hard!! The older I get the less ability I have to turn into a pretzel.
It’s hard for me at 34!
It’s Mopar time! 🤘
Always! Thanks brother
There are so many kits that do not require cutting up the dash! It makes me cry 😢 when I see cut up dashes!
Absolutely! Thanks John
I got the RetroSound Hermosa for my 71 Superbee. Easy install, great sound.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. It’s good to have options
I wish my dash wasn't already hacked. I'd do this for sure!
Definitely! Pretty slick kit.

My 74 needs a new radio. You always seem to be doing something that I need done and showing us the new products or the easiest way to do it....💯😎
Thanks James! This one is costly. I just found out from a commenter.
@@JustMoparJoe You're welcome!!! Unfortunately none of this stuff is cheap...😔😔😔
This was the only video for an old Mopar installation I found. I might have to make a video putting one in my 1966 Barracuda
@@briank1671 awesome! I would have added more detail if I had known more people were interested in this.

Absolutely is. I noticed while working on it today, it instantly hooked up to my phone when I turned on the key.
Thanks JMJ, that is a game changer for my '66 D100. Looking forward to better sounds.
Awesome! Glad it helped out. This one has it all
That's a real nice setup Joe. 👍
It’s pretty cool! Looking forward to cruising this one until it’s picked up soon.
The display color is adjustable. I choose blue to match the color of my car.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
I’ve been seeing more of these but I haven’t actually heard one. Also I have many CDs I wouldn’t have access to. Nice to not cut up the dash.
For sure. I’m assuming a cd changer would be an easy addition to hook into the auxiliary on it.

Didn’t sound bad. The speakers under seat were a little weak. 6x9’s will definitely rock more

@@dogdoc1 that's what I was wanting to do.
It looks really good in there. I checked out the website they are around $500.
Woo! That’s a chunk. Definitely should be a less expensive version

That’s cool to hear! Thanks brother. It picked up well with it down. Stations from 100 plus miles away
I've been wanting to try one of those radios for years, it looks pretty legit 😎
I’m convinced it’s pretty cool. Not flashy. Does the job.
I have custom autosound. I can’t change the color but it does have a display dim
I just heard this one dims and changes colors. Thanks for sharing.

Non volatile memory? That is cool stuff for someone that wants music in their ride
He’s driving it about 10 hours home. Few tunes won’t hurt! Lol

Great video.
How about a 1 year update?

Thanks Dan! Mine was actually cut in my car before I got it too
That is pretty cool. Jam that Traveling Wilburry's.
I had Bob Dylan on, but even 30 seconds of it got flagged and they were cutting the monetization on the video
@@JustMoparJoe Bob was in the traveling Wilbury's
I have the same car do you have the part numbers for all the stuff that you installed in your car?
I’m sorry I don’t. The customer bought this kit and had it shipped. It’s very universal
Thank you
Nice Joe 👍 Now you can play Burt’s album “Ask Me What I Am” from your IPhone 😊

That’s interesting. Did they have them in 65? This car literally only has one wiper speed!
I guess if there is a inch by twelve or so slot in center of rear deck it probably could have
I hate to find one thats been hack...but plenty was in the 70's to 90's builds
Absolutely true. Any find now is good
Every Retrosound unit [at least 10!] I have installed has had issues! Very cheap quality. Better to send stock radio out to have internals updated .
Thanks for sharing. What type of issues should people look for?
@@JustMoparJoe Mainly the tuner 'stalks' not working or acting up and even had a head non op right out of a sealed box.
My car got hacked in its first 25. But that looks a lot nicer than what I have. Too bad
All good Stan. I’ve never cut an old car, but always had a boom box In my old truck.
I hate when people cut the dash up

Great job but DSP isn't display it stands for Digital Signal Processing. Just my 2 cents.
