what an amazing work... never heard a better cover, no matter where. I would like to get the pure basstrack for doing a mix 🙂Again, great Job, Thank you
I always loved Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Pleasuredome was an epic album. For me, the baseline in Welcome to the Pleasuredome was the driving energy and the melodic centerpiece to the whole song - extending beyond just a basic rythym foundation for the other instruments. Great cover and well executed!
This just popped up on my feed. Wow! I got this album when it was new I was 16 and wore it out. You NAILED it! This is the 1st FGTH cover I've seen. Fantastically underrated bunch of musicians. I hope you do some stuff from their 2nd album as well. Awesome!
Baixo, instrumento maravilhoso e nas mãos de um musico competente, o som é brilho, qualidade sem limites. Obrigado por expor seu talento. Deus o abençoe.
c'est juste magique , cette aisance ,ce feeling . Ce qui me donne envie de persévérer et de me faire plaisir à jouer de la basse . Merci pour ces 5 min de pur bonheur . Et j'adore , la fin qd tu montes ton dernier 1/4 de volume pour laisser sonner ; ) ;
Take a bow, sir, that is superb!! Looks like a more than decent workout for the hands too! Brand, spanking new and crisp strings too from the sound (I think) 👍
100% accurate 😂 brand new set of Ernie Ball Regular Slinky's, which I still have on 6 months later and they still sound amazing. My fingers were in knots, wrecked my shoulder/elbow which I still feel it to this day. Was worth it though. Thanks for the great comment, much appreciated.
@@ralgex I know how difficult this was for you to play perfectly. You nailed it! How many takes? Even my imprecise version on my exact same Jazz Bass is hard on my left hand. Please do Tears For Fears’ “Head Over Heels” next. ❤️🔥
@@foodog777 Thanks for the great comment. I believe I got it on the third take. I did rehearse the song for about 6 hours daily for a couple of weeks, so I was in great shape. I think it temporarily broke both of my hands in the process though, not to mention my left elbow 😂 Head Over Heels has definitely been in my thoughts for a few years now, maybe one day I'll do it. Thanks again for the comment, much appreciated 👍
Deffo ! I play the accoustic guitar and taught myself at the age of 39 when we had a really bad winter here in Liverpool. What stopped me from picking it up earlier was for example was stuff like ' if only ' I started when I was a teenager .
Superb, Brian! But also, how good was Mark O'Toole's original scoring for this? I can remember everyone saying that 'Frankie' couldn't play their instruments, simply because TOTP wouldn't allow them to do so. Just shows how good they actually were. And yourself too, obviously!
Horn did not allow them to play on Relax as they didn't shape up great in the studio. However they were undoubtedly musicians who could play. I think they were a bit too unpolished for what Horn wanted.
What pedal is that in the bridge? This is the best version of “Welcome…” on UA-cam by far. Mark O’Toole played it live with a pick too. The music video version you played is so precise because it’s a Fairlight computer synth sample. You nailed all the recording’s fills and added some of amazing fills your own. Such an incredible achievement. Bravo!
That's a fucking bass line I allways loved ! You perfectly play it. Do you think possible to play it without a pick ? I'm not used to playing with it. Not sure ... It could loose its powerfull sound.
Thanks for the comment. I'm sure it can be done without. So many versions of the song about. The album version sounds like it could be slapped, but also sounds sequenced. Thanks again for the comment.
@@ralgex very nice job. Best of my understanding the original was sequenced but yes there are also many good fingerstyle versions of this song on YT, but most also slap the middle section. I’ve never been a big fan of bass with a pick but that’s how Mark O’Toole plays it live and in this this particular case it relentlessly drives the song where it needs to go.
The definition of crisp timing! Absolutely in the pocket the whole way through!
Best cover on UA-cam. Nailed it in rhythm, feel and funkiness. Kudos friend 🫶🏻
Thank you for the great comment, I appreciate it 👍

Awesome!
Very good groove, timing spotless, nice variations. I never will be able to play with a pick like this.
Love this 👌
Bravo!!! Velmi propracovaná basa zahraná s exkluzivním přednesem a geniální rytmikou = SUPER!
Liverpool's finest! great job by the way

You absolutely nailed it! I was hoping someone would play a cover of the (Escape Act) version on this song!
Thanks for the comment, appreciate it.

Ricordi della mia gioventù
Brilliant playing , pic technique nailed 👏 timing 👌
Thank you for the comment, I appreciate it 👍
Really Cool! Should’ve kept playing my bass at 15, dang it! I Love the bass power and sound.
Always time to pick it back up 👍 Thanks for the comment.

I'm only using a Billy Sheehan signature drive pedal, mostly for compression. It sounds an envelope filter on the original recording though.
Who is this guy at the beginning playing the Guitar i need to know ??
Marc o' toole????? These were a step yonder in the 80's. Love them
God your good.
Bravissimo Brian!! you have the Tab I would like to learn it!?
Sorry, I don’t have the tabs.

Well done!💥💥 And Awesome sound ❤ Are you using flats?
Cheers, appreciate that. They were roundwound 👍
Sorry folks been drinking it must be Brian Moran
Beautifully done.
