Thank you so much for this video, I came here looking for advice and structure on running a book club with my 8th grade students. I know that you SHOULD wait and not answer your own question and follow with another... but after 16 years of teaching, these basic and important rules have been broken by myself too many times out of impatience and feeling uncomfortable in the silence. THANK YOU so much for reminding me about how important a foundation is to build anything on, including a discussion.
I am about to host my first ever book club for a coding related book, this was very helpful and I hope I can embody some of this advice on the first attempt!
Thank you very much. I found this tutorial very good. I would like to ask you - when you said that you can ask the circle and have each participant ask a question - did you mean that then everyone also tries to answer it? Because if you have ten people it sounds like it would take a really long time to answer everyone's question. Do you limit the answer to 5 minutes?. which leads me to next question: is a book club for an hour? 45 minutes? 1.5 hours? Where is the tutorial about five dif questions and about discussion rules And one more question: when you talk about reading skills, is this for English speakers or do you mean reading skills for young readers or foreign language students? Thanks so much!!
Thank you for the tips, all much appreciated. It would also be useful if you linked the videos you are referring to, in the description box as they would be easier to find that way.

Yes! The silence can be very uncomfortable but if you hold tight others will feel more uncomfortable than you and break the silence! :) Good luck.

Boring
Why do you say it is boring? All the other comments say how much they liked it and how beneficial it has been.
