Awesome that you got the axle replacement covered. It’s always the blend door. I see so many issues with vehicles now a days I’ll stick with my old school vehicle Looking forward to seeing the repairs.
Ahhh yes. My 2020 ranger stx xl had this problem about 10-12 months ago. It sucked in the winter cause I had no heat in my new truck.. and it was making a clicking noise when I would try to turn the temp knob.. they fixed it right up and it's been fine since. Glad to finally see the steps they took to fix it! Thanks
@@senghunter1010 luckily it was under warranty.. I wouldn't want to guess how much it would cost without warranty. Probably 1k+... Just for the fact they had to take the whole dash off and replace the whole entire climate system...
Always a fun job lol, just did one this week on a 2012 Edge, most guys hate pulling dashes, maybe I’m just weird but oddly enough I actually enjoy pulling dash’s lol
Ford still haven't fixed blend doors. Obviously doesn't matter what country they are all the same. I'm in Australia and have a 2009 Falcon. Same problem until 2014 when they changed blend door shaft design and made them with a steel insert. Before then just a plastic shift that was lucky to last 2 years. Dash out job and Ford Australia quoted 8 hours labour for it. Had mine done 3 times on the space of 6 years, luckily covered by warranty. Last one that broke only lasted 5 months. Have updated steel one now and been good for 7 years now🤦♂️
Yup I’m constantly hearing complaints on the FB 2019+ Ford Ranger pages about this. Not mine I got a 21 Tremor that somehow doesn’t have the other complaints of tinny sounding doors because apparently ford stopped putting/ or decreased the amount of sound deadening in the doors in 21 🙄
2019 Ranger Ext. Cab. Quoted $3K for this repair. Ended up ordering a new Blend Door Actuator, which is smaller than the original and does not fit. (New actuator design is probably for new hvac box) As a work around, used the plastic piece connected to original actuator to adjust blend door manually. Now I have ice cold A/C and don’t have to worry about this again until the fall/winter.
I'd like to see how the repair goes. It looked like it was just the upper part of the hvac case seperate from the evap and heater cores. Seems like a simple dash though.
What a crock of shit... just had this heater / AC diagnosed by our dealer and was told its going to cost me almost $1200 for a known defect, and the box is on backorder.... Not fing happy with Ford....
I took my blender motor off and played with it and got it to work, it seems to getting stuck in the heat position, no matter how much pressure you put on it while its trying to go to the ac position it won't go. It just binds. Its the arm between the motor and the box.
No issues at all honestly, I have a video on a 20 in the library where I had to replace the bcm because of a Auxiliary Power Supply Issue but that's it
Yikes one thing about dash jobs there always seems to be a noises after the repair. They engineer these HVAC boxes like there will never be an issue!!!
Great video, I own a 2019 Ford Ranger and while I don't have the snapping noise when changing temperature my a/c temp at the vent never gets below about 55 degrees, even today for example outside temp is only 67. Do you know what temp I should be getting from my a/c? Concerned something is wrong with it.
Just bought a 2020 Ranger XLT and makes a clicking noise when I turn on the heater in the morning, then goes away after 1-2 minutes. Doesn’t do it any other time in the day when the heater is on, only morning. Doesn’t do it for ac and ac blows cold air fine. I tried to recreate this issue at the Ford Dealer, but wouldn’t click, since it already clicked in the morning when I drove to the dealer. Not sure if this is a normal noise for the Ranger .
@@BeardedFordTech same here. I have the stx too and it has turn knobs. I had this exact issue a while back. They told me they replaced the whole climate housing. Which Im assuming this is exactly what fordbossme is showing us
@@champinsoccer9 yeah I know what he's showing. Wasn't sure if it was with the mytouch system that was in that truck or regular turn knob like ours. Mine hasn't done it (yet) I'll call him later and see what's up
So I just took my 19 ranger in today for this and they said it’s the blend door actuator motor. So I’m wondering if they are just replacing that or the whole box. What would you think or should I mention that sbm to them?

There he is. Thanks brother fer being you
How's your day going
Really good looking out for the customer with that axle seal. Man those dashes are a job I’m sure the more you do the easier it is.
More ranger videos please. Thanks love your channel.

Have you seen any post mid 2020s having the issue?

Its the arm between the motor and the box.
Can that arm be ordered?
Idk unfortunately
I've been considering getting one of these Rangers. Aside from this issue how have they been holding up in your experience?
No issues at all honestly, I have a video on a 20 in the library where I had to replace the bcm because of a Auxiliary Power Supply Issue but that's it
I have a 2021 and had it changed. It would leak inside the cabin.
Yikes one thing about dash jobs there always seems to be a noises after the repair. They engineer these HVAC boxes like there will never be an issue!!!
Yeah I don't necessarily agree with that because I've never had a problem after doing a dash job but I'm done a lot of Dash work

It varies based on climate man you're going to have to get it looked at at the dealership
Thanks man

Hey Rich do I need to disconnect negative terminal to do spark plugs on my 2016 F150 coyote 🐺
No just have at it
i'll never bitch about a pinched or siezed heater control cable again.thank god for old trucks.
Mine doesn't have the button. Mine has a knob. Is this for XLT? Mine is a XL STX package
It didn't specify a model I don't believe

Sorry 4.4 is a garbage labor time i mean with the multiplier helps but still thats bad for pulling the whole dash.

I hate the heat controls on the ranger some of it can only be done through the radio. Very bad design.
This is a good example of why you shouldn’t buy a first model year of any vehicle. If the customer had to pay for this it would be expensive!
Especially from Ford they love using customers as R&D
Mikey?! Seriously
That's any manufacturer not just a specific one

Well if everyone thought like you did then they wouldn't make new cars lol because nobody would buy them 😜
