Too funny, my name is Crystal and my father’s name was Wayne… ‘Wasteland’ is my favorite Mission song. I’ve always loved that opening line of the song because there is always a Crystal view from my window! Great to see them still out rocking it! Long live The Mission. 🌹
Was there at Birmingham Powerhouse when they announced they were changing the name from The Sisterhood to The Mission. Always loved Craig's bass playing. Awesome times.
I lived music history in NYC, when the Mission, came through town. They played the Ritz, and when "Tower of Strength" was played, I met John Paul Jones from Zeppelin fame! He was there to play Keyboards on that song, which he did, he also produced that album. I got his autograph and my friend knew him by his real name, not stage name, and he invited us in. We were on the balcony overlooking the stage and we hung with greatness! One of the best nights inNYC I ever had.
RIP Crystal. Cripes Wayne looks great, and sounds just as heavy as ever. Long live The Mission! 6:30 I was singing along too! Thanks for posting this footage... did they happen to perform their cover of Neil Young's "Like a Hurricane" during the show?
SAW THEM 1984 IN UTRECHT,WHILE THEY SPLIT OFF FROM ANDREW ELDRICH,***THEY PLAYED WITH THE ASSOCIATES ***I DON,T UNDERSTAND NOTHING FROM ELDRICH,SO I THINK ALL WAS A FAKE BIZNIZZ WITH THE SISTERS OF MERCY
I still believe in God and God no longer believes in me There's a crystal view from my window And I can see the years to come I live for the burn and the sting of pleasure I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun I can tear down the walls, storm the barricades Run to the place where the frightened crawl Desire lurks beyond good and evil So I dance on the graves where the hallowed fall Over this land All over this wasteland Over this land All over this wasteland You can touch, but please keep your distance You're innocent and pure and with no shame The spirit is willing, and the flesh is craved You tease and you taunt with the pleasure of pain Over this land All over this wasteland Over this land All over this wasteland Heaven and Hell, I know them well But I haven't yet made my choice I'm feeling scared 'cause I'm shouting loud And no one can hear my voice I'm walking the tightwire, can't look down Strung out high, above you all Fateful wind blows through this land Howls my name, heralds my fall Over this land All over this wasteland Over this land All over this wasteland
I got to see them in concert as a replacement opening act. The previous opener had quit the tour only days before the show in Toronto which was a day before the show scheduled at Darien Lake just outside Buffalo. When i heard about it I hoped they would join the tour and play at Darien lake. The change for my concert was never announced so i didn't know til the show started. I can't remember who they opened for bcuz i saw quite a few shows there. I do recall that i had zero intrest in the previously scheduled opening band.....ok i hated that band. I was so happy that i got to see not just one band that i liked but two! I do recall that it was an awesome show!
Andrew Eldritch is sat laughing his arse of at this bunch of goons trying to scratch a living in their pensionable years , whilst sat counting wads of money from licensing Merciful Release to W.E.A.. Without Eldritch you wouldn't have your Mission Muppets . Hussey would still be playing gay disco with Dead Or Alive. You did ask .
Still rocking..Thanks Wayne....Sounding better than what's left of The Sîsters...
Yes a lot better!!!!
I saw Andrew E. this years, It was rather sad.....

Absolutely 💯 agree, but at the time we took those 80's years for granted, wish I could go back 😢😢
