Like your own aquarium. Awesome job filming and editing all the footage. If you ever want another 'friend', I'm available. Lol. I haven't spearfished in 15 years. Used to go scalloping in Steinahatchee and there were always huge flounder, monster trout and the occasional grouper. I speared a 32" flounder on a generic one band short speargun. He was just laying there and didn't move. We woukd see trout in the grass flats where the scallops were and we would pop a few. Then the red grouper in the deeper water near structure. So much fun.
We love your videos Braden. Just moved to North padre and got a couple koah shortie 38s to start. We shot some nice sheep's head yesterday at a rig 15 min out. I hear we need to head out deeper to get into some clear water. Maybe we will see you on a rig sometime.
Wow! The abundance of those spadefish is beyond me. I can only wish to be there and encounter the same amount of fish around me while spearfishing the bigger meatier predatory ones. What an Awesome video editing /shots bro!
Haha I’ve actually had them a decent amount.. we used to shoot some when I was earlier starting out with spearfishing. They’re no snapper but definitely edible fish. Might have to do a taste comparison after a trip
Epic filming while being part of the reef! Cool to see the small Kagami (African pampano) around 4:45 on your right. And yeah, anyone else’s adrenaline start pumping as he was extracting the first fish? Sheesh dude, fish with a lot of life left in him, dyneema and structure above head. Got a sense of what it’s like diving a rig. And can see how it could get super sketch with the big boys!
I’d have to go back and look but it was probably a ‘lookdown’ fish! They have a similar profile but are much smaller to the AP. Yup.. definitely have to be very careful..
Hey @BradenSherron what jigs are you using to get those Cobia? Love the videos by the way! I fish with my grandparents about 40-50 miles out of Matagorda every year.
I think most spearos' first fish is a spade - pretty tasty, and super easy to shoot! They get a bad rap because the meat is an unappetizing gray color, but they taste fine.
Correction....Jim used to,be a friend until you snapped off his cobia. J/k. Every fisherman has had that happen. I cursed my mom out with my dad, uncle, and his girlfriend on board because she kept hitting the fish with the net and it was a monster gator speck. My dad's biggest trout was 27" and this one was bigger than the 30" diameter of the net. Huge. I was so excited and then my mom starts bashing the fish with the net
So I just got into spearfishing about a year ago I got my own guns and everything. I was just wondering if you or if you know anyone that could help get me out there. I have my own boat and everything I just don’t have a group to go with.TIA
Thank you friends, I see you from Mexico God bless you and keep you well ✌️🇲🇽
I like all the snappers and stuff looks so cool😊😊
Thank you!! It’s awesome diving with them.
Left Htown for Florida.. your vids always make me think about coming back and trying Stx one day.
I'm starting a freediving course this weekend. Spear fishing is my end goal.
Awesome!! Smart way to get started 👊
How did it go?
That fog horn was going crazy!
It was trippin out lol

Really appreciate it! Awesome!! It’s a time of year thing too. In the summer it will clean up nice in closer.
Great video. If I am ever in Texas I would love to go on one of these adventures.
Really appreciate it!!!
Really enjoy watching you.
Thank you 👊 really appreciate it
I’m getting at 24 ft offshore boat in 2 weeks if you want to go someday. I snorkel but not experienced in spear fishing.
That’s exciting! Awesome 👊👊
😁 So much fun! Hooked! 🙌
Ever thought about droppping a camera from a line to see what is down there before you dive it?
I have before at some spots but rigs usually I just go in and check it out
Recently found your channel, love your videos, I may just need to get my jetski out to an oil rig in the Gulf of Thailand. 😛

Really appreciate it!!! The spadefish are pretty wild. Definitely a trip when you’re in the swarm of them. Thanks for tuning in for it 👊
Nice video. Freediving is the proper way to spear, even in Florida :)
My goal is to catch one of those spadefish up here in NY on Long Island….GREAT footage dude !!!!
they taste like shite but if catch and release good luck
Nice! Really appreciate it ! 👊👊

@@BradenSherron that’d be cool to see man!
@@TheGoat-sv6sw yea I’m a catch and release guy, I don’t eat any seafood….just want to scratch it off the bucket list
I've found that a can of cheese whizz can be a lot of fun
if you want to stir things up a bit, the spade fish like it
Haha I already can see that frenzy
Braden you should try 1 of the angel fish..nice when you foil it with some Al purpose season
We call those ‘spade fish’ .. they do actually have pretty good meat. Will probably do a spear cook video on the ‘less targeted’ fish this season!
So cool 🎉🎉
Thank you!!!

Didn’t know that species existed, thanks for the response.
Be awesome if you did a little hands free equalization tutorial. I been working on it but can’t quite get it yet
Will think about how to explain it!

These shots are stellar bro
Really appreciate it Anthony!!
👊👊
Awesome videos like always keep them coming buddy 🐠🐬🦈🥽
Really appreciate it!! Thanks for watching!
😂Micro fish and battles too much to hold, be careful and trim your spear line✌️
Awesome video man.
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching 👊
Очень зрелищное, яркое, живое видео. Смотрел на одном дыхании, класс!!!👍👍👍💥🔥👋!!!
Reallyy appreciate it!!! Thanks for tuning in

Yup! Mine definitely was.
Completely agree...
Braden? I'm guessing you're one of the lucky ones that can equalize hands free?
To a certain extent! Once it gets deeper though the frenzel method is my best bet!
Hey big fan over here I watch all you videos, can you please give me the coordinates to this exact spot ?
Really appreciate it!! Haha it’s a secret spot 🤫🤫
Good one !😮
Appreciate it!!! 👊👊
id like to get into diving but its intimidating.
Start off with some easy snorkeling. Maybe at a clear lake or a pool. Then go do some out in the ocean
Amazing 🤙🤙🤙
Thank you!!
About how long are these mangroves you are shooting? a lot longer than the average we see here in Pensacola.
Probably 22 -27 inchers. That’s what the ones I shoot normally are around. Believe my biggest has been 28.

For the life of me I don’t understand how you guys don’t harvest spade fish 🍽️ try it
Cause we’re getting the snapper!
Bro
👊👊
Its chill to just do some nice freediving sometimes to. Much life in the sea and great visibility🤿👍
Absolutely! It’s always great to just dive and enjoy it.
