Nadasurabhi is pleased to present the concert of highly talented vocalist from Karnataka Sri. Dilip Simha. He is a senior disciple of Vidushi Neela Ramgopal. Dilip learnt from Neela Mami from the age of 7 for over 30 years. He is a graded artist of AIR and Doordarshan. Dilip has won several awards from prestigious organisations both in Karnataka and Tamilnadu, including The Madras Music Academy.
In this concert he is accompanied by young highly sought-after artists Vaibhav on violin, and Sunil on mridangam. A very senior veteran ghatam vidushi Smt. Sukanya Ramgopal is on Ghatam.
Concert recording was done at Crossfades Studios, Bangalore.

I think I am the first to comment. Today I had a programme which I could not go and hence wished to listen to good online music. Raghavan sir's whatsapp post came across. I decided to listen to this video. I had attended Dilip's concert at BTM cultural Academy several years back.That concert was a duet as another sishya of Neela Mami also sang along with him. I vividly remember the duo sang Navarathri krithis particularly of Deekishithar. They sang with a very low sruthi-perhaps to say 1 kattai( as we old timers are familiar with this jargon). Dilip's father was among the audience sitting beside me. The concert was ok mainly because the sruthi was low. After the concert Dilip came and sat beside me. I asked why he sang with a 1 kattai sruthi. He said his guru has always advocated singing in low sruthis. I pointed out to him that top class performers in carnatic music sing in 3 kattai and above whichis necessary to capture the audience.He smiled. I am very much pleased to listen to his singing today.He would have forgotten the incident mentioned above. This concert was flawless, and his repertoire has become wide with good manodarmam as evidenced by his kalpana swara singing. All in all he made my day. I am sure he has sung in higher sruthi for this concert. I have to mention Vaibhav Ramani for his extraordinary talent. Kumaresh's flavour was visible in his Kamboji alaapana. In fact he used several phrases for playing this raga which were innovative and soothing to ears. I am sorry for the long winding review. Sunil Subramanyam was very good. I am eager to know his Guru's name. Sukanya madam is such a senior that there is no need for review as she excels always . Thanks to Nadasurabhi for uploading such a wonderful concert.
