Great double reaction. Yes this is an emotional song ... to really get the emotions you need to see the 'Unfinished' version from Legend 1997 ... just Su, piano and strings (no drums in that one). Budokan 2014 and Budokan 2021 ... that was the same Kami Band. 'Akatsuki' (Ak-ats-kee ... the U is almost silent. Su called out "Akatsuki da!" at the start) means red moon. It is also an homage to X Japan's song 'Kurenai'.
Akatsuki daaaaaaaaaa! ❤ As Su once said: Don’t think, feel! I love how Su was able to deliver the emotions of the song at the age of 16 at the 2014 Budokan show. The musicians were pretty much the same in both of those shows (Kami band east). You definitely need to check out the “unfinished” version of Akatsuki from the Legend 1997 show! 🤘🦊🔥
Ok, only 2 performances/songs from Babymetal can get me teary eyed Akatsuki Unfinished and No Rain No Rainbow from Legend S concert (Su's 20th Bday concert)....(Monochrome from first take can almost be #3).... Akatsuki Unfinished is probably what you're looking for, since you said you were distracted by the drums... When you see Unfinished next to any Babymetal song, it's basically a stripped down piano only version.... The emotions she put into Akatsuki Unfinished is unreal....Not only the singing, but her expressions, just everything, is pulling on your heartstrings.... 😁😁🤘🦊🤘
Nice double feature, thanks! The first video is from 2014 (not 2017). There are 7 years between both shows and you can tell how Su-metal's vocals have matured over the years (she was only 16 in the first one). She says "Akatsuki daaaaa!" (It's the crimson moon!") in the beginning. It's pronounced "Akatski" (the "u" is mostly silent). The Kami Band lineup is almost the same on both shows with the only change of Leda Cygnus on the 2014 performance and ISAO on the 2021 one. The rest of the band lineup is: Takayoshi Ohmura (the guitarist with the glittering pink guitar), BOH (real name Daisuke Bohte) on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. The fighting scene in the second video is a reminiscence of two previous live performances. Pure fan service and, in my opinion, distracts from the amazing guitar solo. "Akatsuki" lyrics are about the memories of a lost love but from the perspective of being thankful for having experienced it. It's quite a poetical thing. It's a power metal based song, a power ballad in steroids, as I like to say. This is one of my top favorite songs of all time. There is also an acoustic ("unfinished") version from the concert Legend 1997 held in December 2013. You probably may like to check that out. Until next time! 🤘🦊

Nice reaction. A great tune with multiple versions and they change things up from performance to performance. Like having Su do a shadow fight with a masked version of herself during the dual guitar solos. I don't think to this day anyone knows who the masked person was. Another reason why live Babymetal is best Babymetal. As far as the tempo of the song goes. One the Metal in their name is there for a reason. Second it makes those tempo changes feel even bigger and helps drive the song. All the versions are fan favorites. All of her solo songs are fantastic. Even her two cover songs they did when they first started because they didn't have enough songs for a whole concert. Next Su solo try Amore , then Rondo of Nightmare with intro. Then lastly I warn you have tissues near by for one of the best rock ballads you'll ever hear. No Rain No Rainbow second warning that song gets blocked a lot. Babymetal didn't leave Yui and Moa out. Due to child labor laws they had to take a break. For Su's break they did a duo of Yui and Moa called Black Babymetal first song is has to be Song 4 . Many fans hope now that Momoko joined that they might bring back the duo songs. For all three of the of the originals checkout Uki Uki Midnight. A lot of fun. For something newer. Metal! Akatsuki is one of my favorites, there are many different versions of this song, the 2013 unfinished one, basically it's unplugged , the fighting scene was first introduced with SU facing a masked copy of herself, this version came back in 2017, in her 20th birthday show, Baptism XX, then came the Dark Era, during their 2018 tour, the first without YUIMETAL, two dancers were placed on MOAMETAL sides, they were indeed also martial arts experts and soon became known as the Muscle Metal, during the Dark Night Carnival show, they exhibited themselves in this choreographed fight. Then of course they were replaced by the Avengers, but Akatsuki was not played anymore. Until their coming back at the Budokan in 2021, so this version combines the very first one (without the initial pause on "made"), the standard one, the fighting from TDC, the unfinished one, so it's the Ultimate version indeed! BTW Akatsuki means crimson moon 😊. 🤘🦊⚡️
The kami band members on both the videos are the same. Well actually first one had Leda and Takayoshi on guitars. On second video it was Isao and Takayoshi. Bassist and drummer are BOH and Hideki in both them. Those musicians are probably in top 1% that Japan has to offer.
At the start of the song, Su says "Akatsuki Da!", which I believe means this is Akatsuki. This is borrowed, and honors X-Japan, a monster of a metal group in Japan in the 80s and 90s. At the start of their song Kurenai, their singer would yell "Kurenai Da!". There's a lot of little things Babymetal does that honors X-Japan. The word Akatsuki comes from the character Aka (red) and Tsuki (moon), and together means Dawn. The thing with the pinky is the thought that two souls can be connected by an invisible red string tied around their pinkies.
Yes! Listen to it again. That's normal since you're still new to BABYMETAL. You're brain is still processing everything because of BM's mixing of genres. That was my initial reaction as well. But I have listened to this song a hundred times and it still makes me teary eyed until now. Such an amazing song next to No Rain, No Rainbow and Amore.
NEW Babymetal song. BABYMETAL AND Electrical Callboy collab. 1.6 million views in 2 days. There is a unfinished version of this song where the kami band never goes hard. It is an emotional song. She is crying in the unfinished version. This is of course when she is younger.
Akatsuki @ Nippon Budokan:- This is one of 4 Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) solo songs. The other 3 are:- 1. "Amore" (Wembley Arena). 2. "No Rain No Rainbow" (Legend A Baptism XX). 3. "Rondo Of Nightmare with Mischief Of Gods" (Budokan Black Night) same venue. Su-Metal have a powerful peircing voice to penetrate the heavy musical instrument and still sound so clear. You should listen to X Japan "Kurenai", a legendary band from Japan 🇯🇵 which Babymetal get a lot of their inspiration from. There is a slow ballad version of "Akatsuki", the Unfinished version perform at Legend 1997 Apocalypse concert same venue as Headbanger @ the Makuhari Messe. Akatsuki is just Crimson Moon, but the original kanji for Akatsuki is the one you see in Naruto (暁). The original meaning is the time when night fall ends, or dawn. But there is a double meaning of "The time you waited after your dreams/wishes came true" . If you listen to the lyrics both crimson moon and akatsuki play a role in the song Akatsuki. Benitsuki -Akatsuki Information:- Kanji Title: 紅月-アカツキ. Romanji Title: Benitsuki -Akatsuki English Title : Crimson Moon -Dawn. Akatsuki-Benitsuki: Akatsuki- is the couping song from BABYMETAL's 3rd single Megitsune, by SU-METAL. The song is also included in BABYMETAL's first original album BABYMETAL. Nippon Budokan (日本武道館, Nippon Budōkan), often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. Originally built for the inaugural Olympic judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics, its name translates as Martial Arts Hall in English. While its primary purpose is to host martial arts contests, the arena has gained additional fame as one of the world's most iconic musical performance venues. A number of famous rock music acts have played at Budokan. The Beatles were the first rock group to play there in a series of concerts held between June 30 and July 2, 1966. ABBA ended their last tour there. Their final show on March 27, 1980, was the last live concert ABBA performed together. Numerous acts have recorded live albums at Budokan, including Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Cheap Trick, Dream Theater, Duran Duran, Kiss, Mr. Big, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Journey and Deep Purple. LYRICS OVERVIEW:- Crimson Moon Going over thousands nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. Shining in the depths of the eyes, the moon is about to cry. Red tears overflow and dye the night sky. In the silence, the two damaged blades stand face to face. Our loneliness and our uneasiness slash even our hearts. Going over thousands nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. In the passage of time, I keep my eyes shut. Even if the red thread flowing in my hand breaks, I still feel we are tied. In the silence, I hold the damaged blade face to face. My loneliness and my uneasiness, I slash, even my heart, now. Going over thousands nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears someday... Going over thousands nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. Dye crimson! Comparing the two performances it feels to me almost like as a 16 year-old she was battling the song and the band to be the one in control and she was singing one song while the band played a different one (I still enjoy her performance and her singing was as good as ever). Then in 2021 as an adult she had become powerful enough and confident enough to bend the band and song to sound exactly how she wanted.
Great reaction! Akatsuki was my very first absolute number one favorite Babymetal song. Now, five songs occupy that top spot! You really need to watch Akatsuki unfinished version from Legend 1997. It is exploding with emotion! Keep up the good work. Kitsune Up!
Thanks again from Japan 有り難う💛。On Feb.19, 2021, Akatsuki became a very special song again for BABYMETAL fans in the world. I witnessed the revival version at the venue. After the silent and blackout interval in the middle of the performance, Su-Metal showed up like a goddess standing solely in the center of foggy lake. It was divine beauty. Honestly I can not remember clearly what I saw and what I heard because it was too surprising and too mesmerizing. (Even after I viewed Blu-ray videos released thereafter) There is one certain thing, however. I felt celestial bliss there, especially with Su's matured richer voice.
Great reaction and welcome to the Fox Hole ❤️❤️❤️You choose the best examples of Akatsuki, one of the Classic Era and the other of the Galaxy Era 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✅✅ And you are right, both sound different, because in the first plays the #KamiBand (all japanese members and more technical sound) and in the second video performs the #KamiWest (all american members and more "rude" sound) both bands are great.... I hope you do more reactions of Babymetal, Metalverse.... Greetings 😁😁😁

_Akatsuki daaaa!_ 🦊🤘🔥 It means something like "This is Akatsuki!" Another nice suggestion to enjoy a SuMetal solo, the deceiving slow ballad intro turns out it becomes a stripped unique live version with Akatsuki Unfinished Version live at Legend 1997 in 2013, another highly recommended version. Just a couple of hours ago they finished the first day of FOX_FEST festival in Japan but this song wasn't part of the setlist unfortunately. They also played along with Electric Callboy and the new collab song released a couple of days ago which was the highlight along with another song they got with Polyphia's guitarists as a special guests called Brand New Day, but i highly suggest to react Electric Callboy - RATATATA collab first while is hot. 🔥 While SuMetal is performing this, the other girls are taking a break to come back after this song and perform their own songs under Black Babymetal subgroup. This is live at Budokan 2014, reaching this huge goal with only 16 and 14 yo, big international artists performed here like The Beatles among many others, so you get the idea how huge this is. This song got a tribute to X-Japan, is a power/speed metal ballad, if you want to know legendary Japanese band you should know X-Japan, Yoshiki one of the founder member was the one who suffered serious injury while headbanging during a live concert, that's the tribute in Headbanger!! song live at Legend 1997 is a must. In this song our queen SuMetal is fighting for a neverending love. Akatsuki it pronounce almost with the "u" silent so it goes like "Ah - kats- ki", it means "crimson moon" or "red moon", that's why is a homage to "Kurenai" (crimson) by X-Japan, even the beginning with that shout is a tribute to "X" live version. This is one out of four solo she has on the repertory, the other left are "No Rainbow No Rainbow", "Amore" and Rondo Of Nightmare (if you didn't), same for Black Babymetal subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal, you can find songs like "Song 4" (with Metallica riffs) at this same venue or "Onedari Daisakusen" live at Legend 1997. Like i said before you can find Akatsuki Unfinished Version live at Legend 1997 which is a ballad version with only a piano playing behind, similar to the new Monochrome Piano Version. The Kami Band in this Black Night are the same at Rondo Of Nightmare clip: Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Takayoshi is the one with the pink guitar (aka pink-chan) and was Mikio's pupil, he also got a golden guitar, everyone loves Taka. Akatsuki was one of the highlights live at Budokan 2021 when celebrating their 10 Years, of course this SuMetal performance is one of those beautiful and powerful solo she had back then. The fight choreography is another tribute to early performance either when SuMetal was fighting against her doppelganger at one of the Legend "IDZ" in 2012/2013, or later in 2018 when the muscle-metal (that's the name fans gave to these backup dancers) did the fight between them at Dark Night Carnival concert. When the music stop and switches to the ballad piano version is a tribute to Legend 1997 held in 2013 when performing Akatsuki Unfinished Version. The crowd unfortunately was a prerecorded sound because this was made during pandemic situation and no one was allowed to shout or doing mosh pit, also the capacity was cut to half, everyone had a great time thou. Btw the drummer was the same from Budokan 2014 (Hideki Aoyama), the only one who changed was one of the guitarists Leda Cygnus for ISAO. Next suggestion to meet a Black Babymetal song: - Onedari Daisakusen live at Legend 1997, Gans Tomas got this clip safe to react. See you next time and don't forget to put your kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥

Great reaction! I can really recommend that you watch the unfinished version at Legend 1997 concert of this song, it's even more emotional 🙂🤘🦊
Great reaction! And looking forward to From Dusk till Dawn, one of my favourites.
These two versions are really cool, perfect, you can also see the Akatsuki unfinished piano version which is more emotional
Akatsuki @ Nippon Budokan:-
This is one of 4 Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) solo songs. The other 3 are:-

LYRICS OVERVIEW:-
Crimson Moon
Going over thousands nights,
some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes,
until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
Shining in the depths of the eyes,
the moon is about to cry.
Red tears overflow
and dye the night sky.
In the silence,
the two damaged blades stand face to face.
Our loneliness and our uneasiness
slash even our hearts.
Going over thousands nights,
some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes,
until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
In the passage of time,
I keep my eyes shut.
Even if the red thread flowing in my hand breaks,
I still feel we are tied.
In the silence,
I hold the damaged blade face to face.
My loneliness and my uneasiness,
I slash, even my heart,
now.
Going over thousands nights,
some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes,
until my life disappears someday...
Going over thousands nights,
some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes,
until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!
アカツキ (Akatsuki)
One of the best twin guitar solos from Takayoshi Ohmura and Shinji Yuuto aka Leda Cygnus.
Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult.
Good job👊🏽⚡️🦊🤘🏾Babymetal introducing pop fans to speed metal .
One of my favorite BabyMetal songs... I believe this was the first BabyMetal song I did a drum cover of... (I have done MANY since then) ua-cam.com/video/K0QZD8EXSrs/v-deo.html
The drums are basically the same in both
Hermosa reacción cómo siempre. ❤
Conclusión: No dediquen Akatsuki. Xd
This song, along with Amore, fits SU-METAL's persona perfectly. Well, SU-METAL must be SU-METAL too, wearing cat ears and getting excited.
15:48 I think it's determinism, the strong will to fight
For me I love the "unfinished" version but it's great anyway. Good reaction!
Thanks for being here! I recall someone mentioning that (if my memory serves me right). Where can I find the "unfinished" version??
@@sassjastans It's on the Legend 97 concert - alongside a lot of unique stuff you'll have trouble finding anywhere else - the whole concert is STUNNING. It even has an EDM version of a brilliant track - "headbanger" (as well as the original). Akatsuki unfinished also kinda fits with the "story" in Legend 97 (if you look at the whole thing :P)
Please check out "Amore" Live at Wembley. Another Su-metal solo and lyrically a follow-up to Akatsuki, singing of the Blue Star instead of the Crimson Moon.
@8:24 doki doki!
Im here only for babymetal react from you 😅❤❤
Welcome back to Babymetal Kabayan. Yung Kami Band line up nung first video ay sila
Takayoshi Ohmura - Guitar on right
Leda Cygnus - Guitar on left
BOH - Bass
Hideki Aoyama - Drums
Yung second video almost same line up
Takayoshi Ohmura - Guitars
Isao Fujita - Guitars
BOH - Bass
Hideki Aoyama - Drums
AKATSUKI. Tamang pag pronounce AKATSKI silent U. Nung sumigaw si Nakamoto sabi AKATSUKI DAAAAAAA!
_Akatsuki daaaa!_ 🦊🤘🔥
It means something like "This is Akatsuki!"
Another nice suggestion to enjoy a SuMetal solo, the deceiving slow ballad intro turns out it becomes a stripped unique live version with Akatsuki Unfinished Version live at Legend 1997 in 2013, another highly recommended version.
While SuMetal is performing this, the other girls are taking a break to come back after this song and perform their own songs under Black Babymetal subgroup.
Next suggestion to meet a Black Babymetal song:
- Onedari Daisakusen live at Legend 1997, Gans Tomas got this clip safe to react.
See you next time and don't forget to put your kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥
I wish this song was still in their live performance rotation. /sigh
Maybe they'll bring it back. Let's not lose hope! 😩
🦊🦊🦊
React to black babymetal gj or sis anger. Its a duo of yui and moametal.

Wow Sassja, you have spoiled us today with two versions of the same song. An excellent reaction video.
You are right, this is an extremely emotional song and both videos you reacted to are beautiful in their own way but there is another version of this song that I would love you to look at when you have time; I am not requesting that you react to this version, this is just for your own experience, I would never expect a third reaction to any song from anyone.
Ang paborito kong version ng kantang ito, sana magustuhan ninyo: ua-cam.com/video/-Mh5nrXIw6s/v-deo.html
This is peak Su-metal IMO (2021). So powerful. Can't even imagine how she'd perform this song nowadays
New band more skillfull and amazing sound...FANTASTIC!!🤘😎
Yaaaaaazzz
This song is really popular in Japan from what I understand. Doesn't do much for me
i think it's really popular with babymetal fans globally, and you're in the minority. which is fine; we all have minority opinions.
@@sirmoonslosthismindThat's very much your opinion. Polls I've seen say otherwise which is why I commented
@@apoc519
akatsuki is literally #22 out of 126 babymetal songs on spotify. and it's rather odd for you to assert that the global (un)popularity is why you commented when your original comment didn't say anything one way or the other about global popularity. basically, quit being such a tool; it's embarrassing.
