My advice: If you're a mage being hunted, put everything into Necromancy. Surrounding yourself in a wall of skeletons makes you much harder to capture.

The most powerful mage this world has seen since Mordenkainen! The one whose power was acknowledged by Mystra herself! So there’s nothing that *any* mage can do that you can’t prepare for. You’ve proved that countless times and by the time we’ve stopped The Cult of the Devourer he’ll just be one more defeated foe.” (Puts a hand on her shoulder and smiles) “As our leader, and as your friend, I guarantee it.” (Sigh) “I don’t think time itself can heal these wounds but… I’ll keep trying. I can’t let destiny down now that it’s chosen us and I don’t want you guys getting hurt either.” “That’s the spirit. Now let’s get some rest and in the morning we’ll come up with a plan to defeat those assassins.” “…I don’t think that’s a good idea.
