In this case, most of the characters in Smiling Friends are animated in a ridiculous way - moving very fast, crazy poses and facial expressions - Meanwhile Mip is always moving at a steady speed, doesn't have any exaggerated movement patterns, and is meant to emulate the style of older more traditional animation with how on-model he's made to be.
The fact Mr. Boss also goes into beast mode in the Frowning Friends episode implies that critters can just morph their bodies to match their moods, which explains why Charlie isn’t phased by it
Pim doesn't descend into madness purely because of his jealousy for Charlie, the real reason he loses his mind is because he feels he's being replaced by Mip. His name is even a reversed version of Pims name, and the moment Mip dies Pim immediately goes back to normal. Pim is okay with Charlie being a hero and doing questions, but he's not okay with being replaced as a friend.

Meanwhile Charlie wants nothing to do w/ the EF yet he's the one going on all the amazing quests, slaying monsters, and acquiring magical items/rewards from the grateful inhabitants of the forest. They could've done typical cartoon slapstick w/ Pim getting hurt throughout the montage, but they don't. Instead they cut to a close-up of Pim silently glaring and each time they cut back to him he's increasingly pissed off becoming dirtier and dirtier. It gets funnier and funnier. By the time it got to 1:08 I was laughing so hard that I was in tears.

Usally my least favorite episodes of TV shows are the ones focusing on medieval fantasy or one of the characters becoming jealous, but this is my FAVORITE episode of smiling friends so far. I don't know how they do it. Pims jealousy is actually sort of realistic and not anoying. Like he's just upset he's not the hero and then starts rationalizing his anger by imagining that Charlie's upsetting him on purpose. He's also fairly restrained till he gets time to actually dwell on it and let's it go once something actually serious happens. There have been so many TV shows where the jealousy plot is purely just one character becoming a self centered asshole and it's usually always out of character and annoying.
Funniest bit is that Charlie doesn't give a single shit about the adventures either, he just happens to be doing the thing that gets the quest done, oblivious to the fact that he's a 'hero'.
I really like how the whole adventure is just one giant RPG-on-rails spoof. All the quests and rewards are perfectly set up for each other. Charlie gets the sword from a simple, 0 risk 'quest', and then a mermaid is caught in a net. He gets sabatons and immediately has to cross lava. Right after he pulls a dragon scale for a shield he encounters a gorgon. Everything is perfectly set up for Charlie to effortlessly breeze right through while they're singing about how fucking cool Charlie is. The whole adventure is just one giant metaphorical act of fellatio for Charlie.
Honestly I love the expression in Charlie’s voice when Pim is taking the package. it conveys like that feeling of uncertainty, like if a brother caught his sibling stealing something.
I like how they portray lava as being dense enough to walk on as opposed to being a quick sand like substance they really did their homework for this show

I mean Futurama was a comedy show but it still had plot moments where it could be serious at times.

I don't think either POV is superior to the other...Charlie never experiences the emotional highs or lows the Pim does, so its emotionally stagnant ...So there's Pro's and Con's to both.

I love how Mip is animated based on the Ralph Bakshi Lord of the Rings, that film has been unnoticed for the longest, time, it's not as good as Peter Jackson's, but it was the first
It is actually based on the Rankin/Bass adaptions of The Hobbit and Return of the King. Ralph Bakshi's film primarily used rotoscoping
I just love how much attention they paid to mimicking the Rankin and Bass animation style, complete with reversing the animations just to pad out the motion
