This place is just awesome for what they are doing!!!! My buddy lives in Florida and has a chunk of land and has a few that come around and say hi!!! And back to the trees they go to do what monkeys do!! Just really awesome when we can coexist
Farmers work hard to make money and feed their family -cannot afford a troop of any animals to destroy crops over night. They are not monsters, they are faced with difficult decisions. Try to look at the big picture and appreciate the VVF trying to help as they can.
monkeys cannot destroy a farmers crop overnight, only a farmer can destroy wildlifes habitat overnight, if natural areas were left for them to forage on minimal crop would be eaten as in any business proper planning is essential

Baby monkeys are so prescious. It's too bad they become so aggressive as they mature. They certainly aren't candidates for house pets and the Vervet Monkey Foundation deserves unlimited kudos for recognizing that and giving these babies the opportunity to survive as what they are intended to be. I cried reading this & seeing those precious babies! What is wrong with humans? How could someone hurt or kill these beautiful animals? And leaving little babies helpless without anyone to take care of them! Thank God someone found them & called VMF! Can you just imagine all the moms that were killed & no one found those babies? I don't want to imagine what happened to them. Thank you VMF for being there for these little angels! I wish I could come out to volunteer for a little while, like, 2-3 weeks.
That’s nature majority of monkeys die because they’re parents get killed by predation significantly more than humans killing them and there is no difference when human kills and eats a monkey than when any other predator.
Maybe bc the adult monkeys were destroying their property, attacking humans for food, killing children for no reason (which they have done before) and a million other reasons why a monkey deserves to be shot

I've never seen a baby monkey or any wild baby animal not show any sign of fear when humans are holding them and they're in an automobile driving down the road and be 100% comfortable with the situation. Thus the comment. For all practical purposes those 2 little ones are pets. I'm aware of the work the Vervet foundation does and I support it. I do know that Vervet babies are a little more jovial and rarely throw fits for any reason. Unlike their notorious cousins, baby Macaques and baby Baboons.
