A few PIXAR 'secrets': 1 ) John Ratzenberger is PIXAR's lucky charm, and they ensure that he has a speaking role in every film. In fact, they were wrapping up post-production for The Incredibles when they realized that Ratzenberger was absent from the film - they wrote, recorded, animated, scored, and spliced in the final scene with The Underminer in a mad rush to avoid jinxing the film with his absence. 2 ) While Luxo Jr is PIXAR's official mascot, the Pizza Planet truck has become their unofficial mascot. Early CG modeling was extremely onerous, so any assets that could be reused were a blessing. (A major factor in A Bug's Life being their second film as they could reuse the same model for all the background characters.) It quickly became something of an inside joke to find some way to include the Pizza Planet truck in every single PIXAR film. 3 ) Every PIXAR film also includes some reference to the next film: ~ In Ratatouille, when Remy encountered a barking dog, you can see from the dog's shadow that it's Doug from Up ~ In Up, as Carl's house flies past the little girl's room, you can see her Lotso Hugz bear (from Toy Story 3) ~ In Cars 2, in the British tavern, you can see the automotive version of the family tapestry from Brave (I'll let you guys find the rest of them for yourselves.) PIXAR does a ton of research for their films - the research for Cars included a month-long road trip along Route 66, and every aspect of Radiator Springs is based upon one or more real-life sights along The Mother Road. Even Mater (like tuh-mater, but without the tuh) was based on a real person they met on their research trip. Fillmore is based on the real Mater's VW bus and they wanted him to voice the character, but Mater was a strict vegetarian and he didn't want to be associated with the Happy Meal toy. George Carlin took the voice role (Fillmore's license plate is Carlin's actual DOB) while Mater still did a voice cameo as McQueen's Biggest Fan.
A couple notes to your observations and questions: This film takes place in 2006, same year it came out so that's your "when does this movie take place." Flo's licence plate says "shogrl" because she was actually a show girl. In a deleted scene, Ramon told McQueen how he and her got married. Flo was with a traveling car show called The Motorama Girls; 1950's era cars with "fins that went on for miles." The show stopped in Radiator Springs because the manager of the Motorama Girls blew her transmission trying to keep the girls in line. The girls took the time to enjoy the town and eventually made their way to Ramon's and got some paint jobs. But Ramon couldn't paint Flo because she was too beautiful to paint. When the Motorama Girls left town, Flo stayed with Ramon.
This is a film that was part of my childhood 😍 And today, at 19 years old (almost 20), I still watch it several times 😍 It's also a film that moves us a lot 🥺
@@deadpoolisawesome20 true, because someone is always a little bit faster than the others, and the 2011 Talledega finish was the closest finish we gotten to a tie
"Aint no need to see where I'm going. Just need to know where I've been" Is a sentence that truly encapsulates Mater and how he approaches life. He walks into every situation, every moment, with wide open eyes and a completely honest demeanor, focusing more on who he has been shaped into by his previous experiences than what he can gain from the moment. Also, my best estimate is that this movie takes place around 1984. We know Doc Hudson won the piston cup in 1951, 1952, and 1953. And we know he took a year to come back and get told he was history. This puts us in 1954. And in the 3rd cars movie a time skip of 30 years is mentioned, in regards to Doc. Which means lightning arrived in radiator springs in the summer of 1984.
The only thing that conflicts this is the scene where the Delinquent Road Hazards show up along with one of the bloopers in the end with the blue Hummer SUV and his large diameter chrome wheels. Those cars all reflect the tuner and DUB scene from the early to the mid 2000’s, so if anything the movie takes place within the 2000’s, otherwise the cars I mentioned wouldn’t have existed. And Jackson Storm in the 3rd movie is an electric car or at least a hybrid race car, which in real life have only become more common within the last 15 years.
Considering the NASCAR stock cars look like the 80s/90s versions of their cars, this makes sense The only thing that drives that theory into the ground is the Fast and Furious style cars that distract Mac
@@blinkachu5275It’s a fairly sensible timeline, and it’s not necessarily that every model shown has to have been made in the movie reflecting the year it was made in the real world. Though, I’d personally push up the timeline towards 1994 ish which would allow for a earlier but very close time for those cars to exist, plus Lightning’s body style more closely reflects when NASCAR took a stronger interest in aerodynamics and came up with a more rounded design. This would also put Doc in his 60’s which would make him more solidly an old timer but not so old he can’t still do a few tricks.
The announcers are voiced by Bob Costas, represented as a...Cutlass, and Darell Waltrip, a retired NASCAR driver wh does NASCAR commentary, represented by a version of his own NASCAR race car. Other drivers, like Dale Earnhardt, Jr, have cameos as their cars. Doc's story actually matches with the real life Hudson Hornet H-Power. Rookie year, three Cup championships, a wrecked season 5, then banned from racing.
Fun fact about that final scene with King and McQueen, it actually happened in real life 6 years ago where a Nascar Driver Chase Elliot(rookie at the time) ran outta gas during his cool down lap, and a 7 time champion Jimmie went up behind and pushed him throgh the finish line, it was so cool and awesome to see that moment was finally echoed in real life,

This movie as a whole got me into college. I became a mechanic and I’ve been working on cars since 2020… bit of a rough starting year but it worked out. My pa taught me how to build a car from scratch, or take one apart and put it back together. He also taught me how to do those kickass custom paint jobs. College was a breeze! But since this is America, College costs you your soul.
Cars when I was younger it was my favorite Disney movie that I watched and used to have it on repeat some much, while some may like others in the trilogy more I personally love this the most it just brings a more of tone/vibe from the music and the story that I love the most. They called it piston cup cuz when they were pitching the movie nascars title sponsor was Winston cigarettes. So obviously piston sounds like winston
Best reaction ever 😊❤😊
3:28 In nascar wrecks, nowadays, it’s not really possible for anyone to die. The last death in NASCAR was the legend Dale Earnhardt sr. 2001. Crashed On the final corner of the Daytona 500.
Guido saying PITSTOP IS SO BADASS .
That line has its separate fan base.
Back when the world was actually good , with no "much" hidden propaganda. Really ICONIC CHILDHOOD MEMORIES 😂❤. Most of the car peeps might have been inspired from this exact movie .Showed a lot of emotions Rollercoaster thoughout . Loved your reaction as always ❤😂

The Cars movies were made for the fans of NASCAR.
Cars 3 is the best out of the 3 in my opinion such a good way to end Lightnings story
Cars 1 is the best but Cars 3 is close
Nice take but Cars 3 was super underwhelming to me. Still a great films regardless tho

It's kinda funny that Larry the Cable Guy is voicing Mater, a tow truck. Who has a tow cable... No? Oh well...
Hey, I just thought of something, if Luigi has an italian accent, shouldn't Sally have a german accent? 🤔I guess we should be glad there is no Volvo in the movie, says me, a swede.
