Thanks for the honest review and when these where purchased silver was more. Also it shows we didn’t know which bag you would get since there was some disappointment. Obviously if there’s an issue we would refund.
Hey Daniel, no need to refund! I had fun opening the bag and I think it's clear that at the very least, the bag was not a rip-off, which is the main worry people have. Hopefully you get some good feedback in the comments too and it helps you make even better offerings :)
@@Silverpicker thanks. I meant silver was higher lol.
@@CoinHELPu I personally don't look at spot price since that is "paper" silver. For every 1 ounce of physical, there are 406.83 ounces of paper, according to the US Debt Clock.
@@josepchwill1304 I am the same way. I have many videos mentioning this, but it's what silver was selling for and my replacement cost is what effects how I price. So you can't ignore the spot either. As much as I want to, I can't. When this lot was purchased is relevant to the prices shown here.
I would've been disappointed in the non government medals, but I don't know anything about them or their potential value. I will say I would be far from disappointed in receiving a couple of those pennies and the condition of the buffalo nickels and they would take up for some of the less than desirable filler coins. Maybe this grab bag isn't right for a seasoned collector, but would be great for a beginner.. All that said, I'm new to this community and having only recently discovered coinhelpu, I'd trust the next bag to be at least as nice. I plan on making a few other purchases soon, myself.
You undervalue coins so i think Daniel was spot on with the grab bag. Great job Daniel!!
Did I undervalue them based on values now or when the video was made...🧐
I agree with you about having doubles that's really not good that's why I don't buy a lot of grabags from anyone I will probably catch a lot of slack for it but that's why I don't sell them because I don't need the problems that go with them
I think this was a great grab bag. Everybody values things differently. Some of the State Fair coins could go for more if you get the right collector. I agree and fully believe that Daniel is honest and does his best for both his local community and the coin community.
Guaranteed...if we walked into his shop, asking him to purchase the drummer boys, it would be face value
I think wether a coin grab bags is of value or not depends on the buyer.
If your a youth or someone just starting out it was good. If you're been at it for a while not so much.
And yes I agree.....
Shouldn't have 2 the same.
I think both you gentlemen are doing a great job for beginners into the hobby in being very informative in video
Personally I like scratch and dent coins, especially if the damage is in an unimportant region or has unique characteristics. It's a good way to get rare or expensive coins at a better price, and it can be fun to wonder what happened to a dented and dinged up coin from 200 years ago
I love coins as much as you. Hope you have a good day.❤
I've got a MS 1938 D Jefferson Nickle full-steps that I'ma get graded, and just started stacking up on old pure 100% silver Japanese dragon coins from 1870-1914
Sorry to say this, but your estimated values on those coins was too high, especially now with silver way down in value. At most, that package would be worth no more than $150. I personally wouldn't pay more than $100 since I've been buying coins for many years, and don't like overpaying for common stuff.
ALL FUN!!! I GOT A SMILE AND HAPPY VIDEO!!! THANK YOU!!!
@𝑷𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 Slverpicker what's big
I don't think I'd be happy with it. If I were buying a grab bag, especially one from an established coin dealer, I'd prefer to see coins with more numismatic value. For $200 I'd rather get older US coinage like a large cent, or a 3c nickel, or a 2 cent piece. None of those coins are that expensive if they're cull or low grade and they're a lot more interesting than the majority of the coins in this grab bag.
My grab bag had some disappointments, but it also had 2 large cents. 1848, 1851.
I totally hear that. I also wish it was more like that
I agree
2 of the same coin is downer
I have a type set and and date set :)👍
Yep that's my feeling too. Seeing your comment reminds me that I need to make an update video to my Canadian Type Set!
@@Silverpicker that would be great 👍 👍
Kind of thought it would be a little better
Truth that grab bag was really poor but I still love to watch your channel
See, this is the review I wanted when you did that BullionMax commercial.
My $200 grab bag had me confused as well. There was some foreign coins, 1 silver Canadian quarter, then . . . 3 common coins. Nickels . . . 1966, 2000, 2005 . . .those are just nickels. I also got 2 Ike dollars. It was a 1971 P and D set. Which is my birth year, so I was happy and disappointed at the same time.
2 large cents, I might have to start a large cent book. a 1909 VDB, slightly better than the VDB I have. 2 Indian head cents. A Morgan and a Peace. A 2021 S Proof Crossing the Delaware. A 2004 S Proof Kennedy. 3 Mercs (1 date unreadable). A Barber half and dime. 2 V nickels. 3 Buffalo nickels. A damaged Rosevelt. And a roll of wheaties.
The most intriguing from the lot though, a 1954 S quarter. I cannot figure out the value on it. Really nice condition. Die crack reverse above the Q to the wing. Which I am glad it was noted on the flip, as I don't know my variants.
I did value the lot as a bit less. The pocket change threw me off, as well as the foreign pocket change. The 1919 Canadian quarter, though damaged, is cool.
I totally hear that lol
Pretty good deal. Love them $9.00 silver quarters, actually found a couple in circulation.
A great grab bag in value. I purchase other grab bags that didn't even come close to 50% of value! Brick and mortar stores have a lot more overheads than someone on eBay! They have to cover their expenses.
I think if I were selling such a lot I'd throw in a few damaged or slick silver coins in there to pump up the value a little. Yes, they have intrinsic value, but they're hard to sell and who's going to send them to the refiner? Also, if the buyer wants to return the lot, the seller can easily prove that the value of the lot easily exceeds the selling price. That would be hard to do with this particular lot.
I wouldn't have a problem with that!
Basically grab bags are getting rid of coins you cant sell or authenticate. There are some good ones but few and far in between.
I've always felt that a grab bag - especially scratch and dent - should give you more than the listed value due to the fact that the person assembling it is dumping stuff that he wasn't able to get rid of since, after all, if he could unload it for full retail value, then he would have done so already, right?
A grab bag should also have some interesting stuff in it and everything in it was common - only an inexperienced newby or kid would find that bag to be thrilling.
As such, I would call that grab bag a disappointment and would have felt I wasted my money even though the total value of it was close enough to advertised value to prevent me from calling it a rip off.
I basically agree. I definitely do not think it was a ripoff and I think Daniel, the seller is a stand-up guy. That said, it wasn't exactly my cup of tea and I also think it should have had like 10% more in value (like the others I bought from him)
Totally agree!
Doesn’t sound very good , rather cheap .
I agree with your comments. I get a lot of Bicentennials when i coin roll hunt (Quarters and Halfs). Unless they r Proof or a real high grade they are only worth face value. I think u over valued the junk 90% and 40% silver coins. As u know as a Pawn Shop owner u would never pay the value u put on those coins
I would leave out the face value coins and the duplicates.Add a 2 cent or a large cent.A Peace $ .I would prefer a variety of coins over quantity.Iwould put in type set coins, especially for younger or new collectors. The price point is good for the type of grab bag.I do enjoy these type of videos.
I agree! Overall a solid grab bag, though
Some people sell those morgan for $50-75 that look like that!!!!
Your value on the 90% silver is way high especially the quarters. It was a bad buy. You would be lucky to get 125 for everything. Some of it probably wouldn't sell at all.
I honestly wouldn't want to but the 200 grab bag. I think alot of it was junk imo. The Indians were not worth 2 bucks. The bicentennial quarters aren't worth 2 bucks in any form. I mean theyre cool but not worth more than face.
Excellent video! I just ordered a 100$ grab bag 🔥💯
I just got a coin from 1882 and i think its a british penny i got you others from 1912 and 1907 the 1912 is it amazing condition does anyone know what they would be worth
I've watched all three videos. I would have to say the $50 sack was my favorite. I may buy a few of those.
Valuing the mercs at $2.50 is too high right now, but I guess if you're getting them from an LCS in an expensive area like NYC then I could understand it. But $9 for the silver quarters?! That's insane. It's more than double what I'd pay based on the current spot. And even if they were BU I'd only pay $5 each.
He probably recorded this video back when he received the package and just releasing it now... When he received it the spot was probably still $27 or $28
Yeah, he purchased these last year when spot was up. I was paying $2 each for 90% dimes then.
@@CoinHELPu Thanks for the clarification, but even at silver's highest last year I think the most I paid was $5.50 for a quarter. By the way, your videos are very informative; thanks for making them.
Yep, I should have clarified that I recorded/priced the video about a year ago. Also, I should have pointed out that it was a BU quarter, so certainly above the $5 mark.
@@daniels1485 getting good deals in quarters doesn’t mean that’s the market. I was paying $5 a quarter back then. I don’t know if you were buying local or selective ebay bidding, but quarters where selling for more than $5.50 over all. Thanks for the kudos on the videos!
Coin help u is a stand up guy, honest as can be. I love his channel too. Thanks picker! Great video
I think I probably would order this grab bag, it's the mystery of what you're going to get
I scratch & dented at the local coin shop all the time. So I posted a video of a "scammer" selling "rare" coins and stamps. I couldn't find the original listing where they were selling a 20c book stamp for 12-$14, but proceeded to find 100's of listings $10-2000 for the same stamp. Who knew the 1c 1965 Jefferson was so "rare"?
@𝑷𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 Slverpicker Go away scamboy
Big like number 627 my friend! Thank you so much for sharing!
You're killing the Like Button game!! Thank you!!!
Although there were some items that were not my cup of tea I feel this grab bag was fair and reasonable. I think Daniel is an honest dealer.
Daniel’s scratch and dents are the ONLY grab bags (and I buy a shit ton) that you will break even on (a lot of times make $15-$20) and not lose 30+% of your money 💯💯
Personally I think pricing a silver quarter at 9.00 if pretty bad and a buffalo for 2.00 oof
The quarter was BU and the Buffalo was XF. Obviously for a circulated quarter, it wouldn't be that much
great video, I do need to buy a grab bag from coinhelpu sometime, have you ever done Littleton coins on approval? you are not always going to get a great value but there are times they send something worth the price they are asking and it may make for a great series.
Scratch and dent silver items were great because of their intrinsic value. The wheat cents and copper-nickel coins were way over priced. I pick up Lincoln wheats for about 3 to 4 cents each and in much better condition. Hope the next grab bag yields better results. Take care.
I love these. I have bought 2 of the $200 grab bags from CoinHelpu. For the issue on duplication, I think he puts together 2 $100 grab bags. That's why they are similar.
Interesting theory. Definitely possible.
The grab bag business model isn’t a sufficient one is it? I mean if the seller puts together a $100 grab bag together, & sells it for $100, and if the seller is honest enough and promises at least $100 worth of goodies in the grab bag !
HOW DOES HE MAKE MONEY !?!?!?💰 😂
On the buy side. When someone sells a collection, typically you buy it for some percentage less than the value
I think 9 bucks for silver quater is too much.
I quite frankly think its fair
@@leonardodtc1493 How so? Current melt value is 3.37USD.
It was a d not a s
If you value a silver Washington quarter at 9 dollars then that would make the walker half’s 18 dollars
Where did you get that shirt?
His grab bags has more silver than most something i appreciate
1967 Canadians are 80% silver
I like his channel and have visited his triple-dub a few times for coin I.D. Help, I agree that this could have been a bit different with the repeats though!
The duplicate coins reduce the value of the grab bags.
Thank you for the honest review and video . I appreciate the honest constructive criticism , we all Daniel is an honest guy and he is in it to make a living so cudos to you both .
Just a quarter shy of a 1937 set. Nice gift for an 85 year old.
I bought one last month and absolutely loved what Daniel sent.
I did not get half of those pieces with 200
That’s a GREAT grab bag! Thanks for all of the amazing videos!
Could have gotten 16 walkers or bengies for that
I think thats a very good bag
I personally would’ve definitely been disappointed with the medals and commemoratives because they’re not coins. It’s not really what you’re paying for. Otherwise, had some good things in the bag!
I hear that, but since it's not such a major part of the bag, I think it's fine
@@Silverpicker oh yeah, either way, still had good coins in it!
Hello,
I have only one child. He is the Gen z generation. He has told me not to save my coins anymore as he does not care. Want to sell off what I have. Do you have ideas where to go to get the best bang for them? (Most is what I call junk coins).
I can take a picture of what I have
Daniel clearly states that even if you are unhappy with the purchase, contact him and send it back. He will send a new pack. Always happy with what I have gotten.
Also in defense of Daniels Kennedy Half prices, APMEX and JM Bullion sell them for about 7$ a piece.
50a an 100 grab bag were better not to crazy about 200 grab bage 4 bi quarters come on... an crapy ohio comemaretive coins
Interesting video.
Pretty interesting watching the opening up... That's not great at all... i'd rather have my $200 to spend on coins myself. Thanks for showing me what not to buy...
Too many duplicates for my taste not worth $200 for sure I'm disappointed
I totally hear that. Most important though, is that it wasn't a ripoff, which is generally the worry when buying grab bags
The walker is a D mint mark
This man is amazing
Hehe you know exist
No denarii? That would have spiced things up a bit.
😂 If only!
I bought a 200 grab bag from Daniel last week. Overall I was very satisfied with the contents. Going to be a regular customer from this point on.
This grab bag was good but the bicentennials and Eisenhower dollars were the weak points. The medals are neat but nothing special.
I still think it's worth it because if you're a beginner at collecting coins it's a fabulous start . It also allows you to see and learn about coins in hand and look them up weather on line or coin books so an individual can learn a great deal from scratch and dent grab bags . I'm working on saving enough to get a few of Daniels scratch and dent grab bags. I think they would be fabulous to open and discover what is in them .great video!
I agree! Let me know how it goes when you get them!
There are any coins in here that are precious metal basically price them at scrap and then cut the price in half because you're not getting full price for scrap silver coins you're probably getting half or a little over half as far as any sort of foreign coins figure 50 cents to a dollar unless it's something that is extremely rare if there are any American non-precious metal coins also 50 cents to a dollar if they're damaged
sure if none bicins and the commems weren't silver? but yea more of a numismatic grab bag vs like a stacker grab bag. but yea if i was going to buy a grab bag id buy from him.
So you value those Morgans at about $32-$34? Isn't that incredibly high? I mean, the silver amount in those coins is about $15 nowadays. I can understand a value of about $22-24 for a 'problem' Morgan, but $32-$34 is way overpriced. Not impressed at all by this grab bag :(
This comment prompted me to look up what Morgans are currently going for on JM Bullion: "cull" Morgans are currently going for about $28 a pop, while Morgans in "fine" condition are going for about $35. I get your thinking though; I've never totally understood why the premiums on Morgans are so high even with the numismatic value factored in.
No way on earth you will find morgans or even peace below $30. Unless they are no date, damaged and holed the premium on them are absurd
Or, you could take $200.00 and buy what you want.
If the bicentennial quarters were all BU, then the grab bag would be 200 legit
Neat
Needs better variety it was good though
That is a pretty disappointing bag, you gave $9 on silver quarters which is no where close to what they are worth more like $5, wheat pennies about 2 or 3 cents each on those ones, bi quarters are only worth a quarter and you gave $12 to $13 on half dollars which is $2 or $3 to much. You got ripped period.
I would be very happy with the grab bag. Like you have issue with so many bicentennial coins. But love the content in grab bag
Silver was $19.72 during the making of this video!
TO MANY COINS I WOULD NOT WANT EVEN THOUGH THE VALUE WAS THERE.
Cool
England dont and never have had a dime
Daniel is always honest and fair!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bought a few times from him ill continue to do so
I have ordered the $199.00 scratch and dent several times and for the most part I've been satisfied. Some were better than others but never felt like a scam. I estimate that I spent roughly $2,000 on the scratch and dent from coin help u.
The bicentennial quarters are worth face value as you gave them. These can be picked out of rolls when coin roll searching, even in AU, unc. conditions. The problem with buying grab bags is that the person or dealer selling them is just getting rid of a lot of junk stuff that nobody really wants.
Answer is: drumroll please ......No!
I was deliriously happy with their $50 bag. I'll buy the other ones as I can afford them.
Nope. You can find most of that in coin rolls. That looks like a rip off to me.
Nope. That looks like a rip off to me. You can find most of those silver coins in rolls easy.
First viewer and first like!
Are you also starting in the first grade come september? My mom wants to know if she needs to come over and pack you a lunch
Sounds like you’re jealous.
Lots of worthless fodder here! lots of coins, but not many worth over 10 bucks.
You're being too kind. This is not a good grab bag.
For $200 I would expect better.
These grab bags are ways for dealers to unload junk stuff they can't sell in a retail setting.
Don't buy these things!!
I’m not saying whether it’s good or bad, just whether it’s financially worth it or not :)
No
It's a good grab bag .. not a great one ... denial is awesome love his channel ... might have to order one
This is like the worthless coins that I have in my drawer. For sure if I was thinking about buying a grab bag off that guy at this point I would definitely not just seems like a complete waste of money. Like who's going to give you that amount of money for all those coins you're never going to get your money back on that
$12 for a Benjamin Franklin more like melt value
I messaged you on Facebook and I guess it's an automated response thing
$9 for a Washington quarter silver more like $5 you're inflating the goddamn prices buddy it's all scrap remember
