Thanks so much! Hubby bought us a plot of land a couple years ago but our ventures so far have been... less than successful, and I feel like this rundown is a great taste of what we should be thinking about during these winter months ;) and super inspiration for me to think about how we might try to start again! Succinct yet super easy to understand 😅 appreciate it a lot!
thank you for watching clair and im glad the video was useful to you. Keep going and learn from your mistakes and i guarantee you will be rewarded for your efforts. best of luck to you guys.
Agree with the selection of tools you choose, we need minimal tools. I do have a garden fork for digging out my compost and collecting horse manure from stable. I rarely use a hoe as I hand weed. I have Mares tail and do not want to propagate new plants from root cuttings, it seems to be working. I do not have a rake as I am happy to level with the back of a fork, plank or my hand, nothing wrong with a rake though. I am no dig and often use my hand to plant out seedlings, but sometimes a trowel e.g. to plant my seed potatoes. My tools are a spade that I do not use anymore, garden fork to handle my compost/manure, trowel, a hoe that I do not use anymore, two watering cans and hose pipe as we are allowed to use this. A couple of dustbins to hold water in the polytunnel in the winter as we have no water in the winter. I manage just fine
I would say we are fairly aligned, I barely use a hoe because of no dig methods but if someone is some one is starting a garden they may need to use one more often until they get things under control . thank you for your comment 😊
Another very informative video woody mate thank you🙏

@DeeplyRootedGarden Very much aligned, have a good christmas and 2025
@@KPKENNEDY same to you, thank you.
If 0.6 mesh is the gold standard, why would you use wider mesh.
Thank you for a great video.
I find wider mesh to be a cheaper option , I use fine mesh selectively as my garden is fairly big .
