    This is an ideal recipe for people craving fried crispy chicken. Best than Jollibee, KFC etc. Cook it at home, you are sure using clean oil and you know what was used to make it tasty.

    🖒🖒🖒It has been a while since I deep-fried chicken with spices as the skin always got burnt before the meat is well cooked.     Didn't have the Chinese coriander root but this was delicious even without it's presence. Another winner!

      Thanks so much, Gail. Coriander roots are commonly used in Thai dishes and this ingredient is what that gives Thai dishes a unique taste. But we reckon that without coriander root, this chicken will turn out just fine as well. Happy cooking!

    It looks delicious!!! I have only found coriander roots one time, and it was just one in the bag with the bunch. Would the stems give it the same taste?

    It definitely looks super delicious. Would it be fine to marinade overnight? What can substitute for the self raising flour? Thanks for the great recipe.

    Would toasting the whole dry spices before grinding yield a more fragrant marinade?

    You should use red limestone water to make an extra crispy instead of water.
    Most of Thai street food vender and restaurants use red limestone water for fried food.
    You can buy it online in the States.

    This fried chicken looks ace. I will be trying out this recipe soon on chicken and mushrooms. Thank you for the share. I have not had a decent fried chicken since the pendemic. My local KFC used to do good crispy chicken. It has been ages since I make copycat KFC fried chicken but yours is crisper.

      APF and baking powder in the right combination will become self rising flour and cornflour will create the lift even more. If this is the crust you are looking for, by all means use the combo. Happy cooking!

    Hi! Just wondering.. is it corn flour or corn starch? From the video it looks like cornstarch because here in the US our corn flour is usually yellow?

    In the video you showed only one tsp of the pounded spice to mix with the water & sauces to season the drumstick, is that enough to season the drumstick ? Or do we use up all that we have pound ?

    Hi.. can I single fry in a larger batch and freeze or chill the cooked chicken so I just do the second fry at a later time? Hope I make sense.. thanks

      Errr no. Freezing after the first fry will introduce icicles into the batter n meat. it wld be better to freeze the marinated chicken n then proceed to thaw n follow the next steps altogether
