    DIY videos (and perhaps their audiences even more so) frequently suffer from the same nonsense that plagues recipe websites: long-winded preamble that often runs longer than the useful content by several orders of magnitude. The way this video was produced and edited should be regarded as the gold standard for all types of DIY instructionals. It's all business. Literally no one who searches for something like this cares about ANYTHING in the video that isn't "So how do I fix this?"
    Thank you for showing me what I needed to know without wasting my time.

    Outstanding, thank you so much for this video. Dealer quoted me 400.00 to do this all I need is that special gasket and that honda seal stuff and just some time. I can do this myself. This car has been amazing and I love it and don't want to get rid of it. Just had the accessory drive belt tensioner assembly replaced. NOT CHEAP. THANK YOU FOR BEING ON UA-cam.

    Thanks a lot, i did mine today. Some tips, always disconnect negative battery terminal, and properly check if the seal is sitting flush. I didnt disconnect the battery and it started giving me codes and misfire. Luckily also saw the seal little bit out of place on the right side below the rubber pipe, its a tricky area. Had to remove and fix twice and its all fine now.

    just did this on a 2008 civic DX...just one thing for someone who wants to do it,
    it's better to remove the cowl panel, to easily get to the 4 valve cover bolts on the backside...you can also choose not to, but it'll be annoying...also the replacement gasket, when you put it in, you might think its long and its not the right one, but you just have to insert it tight all around, and it'll be just right. thanks @MrRangerZr1

    Hey quick question, why is the hondabond sealent only applied on the corners and not around the whole perimeter of the gasket? I'm assuming it's just to prevent leaks from vibration instead of actually sealing since that is what the gasket is for. Thanks in advance !

    • @MrRangerZr1
      @MrRangerZr1  4 роки тому

      The bottom of a torque wrench has an adjustment knob, you turn it to raise/lower the torque value. When the wrench clicks when tightening, the bolt it torqued to specs. Slowly turn the wrench when tightening, don't jerk it.
