Not British but I gotta admit this looks pretty damn cool even with the old footage. She looks like a great leader and those guards look professional and on Point. What an amazing tradition
Agree. I would hate to see this in m country and generally hate the idea of this type of thing, but I like to admire the spectacle of it from a distance.
As a citizen of the senior Dominion I have always been proud to call Her Royal Majesty my queen. She has served as well and faithfully as she promised when she made her oath as a Princess.
I want to know why there are 8 dislike? What the heck I love the Queen of England! I'm an American but obsess with her and her life! My dream is to go to this event before she no longer can! Wow 60 years and still kicking it!
The cool thing is the medals she wears in uniform - the royal family orders of her grandfather and father, and her WWII service medals. Ones she "earned" and were hers, not The Crowns.
No one wears medals without having earned them in service. Everyone of the royal family has served in active duty in the military, they only wear medals they'd earned. That's another thing that makes the British Royals special.
@@Afif.anNayem.asSalafi not everyone - some have medals without having been in the armed forces - Earl of Wessex quit the Royal Marines before finishing basic, the Princess Royal only has honorary commands and rank.
@@sithlordofoz they as active duty Royals are attached with military units, the medals they wear are unit citations. Some of them are given to them by units they visited as part of Royal duties. I've been there mate, I know this as a fact. Also, some of the medals they wear aren't military medals at all, they are granted to them by the monarch by way of their entitlement. Some are pendants representative of certain charities and organisations. Long story short, they don't wear them unless they have legitimate connections. The Earl of Wessex for example wears jubilee medals and honorary forces medals given to him by the respective forces. He has earned them! He doesn't wear any medal that he has not earned. Same goes for Princess Royal. I am not a Brit by the way, I am from the Commonwealth, I was in the military myself that's all, both in my country and in the UK in the reserve when I was in Uni there. I 100% guarantee you the servicemen agree with me on this.
@@Afif.anNayem.asSalafi that's cute. My family has for five generations been Soldiers of the Queen. And the medals worn by HRH The Princess Royal and HRH The Earl of Wessex aren't "earned" in the same way as those worn by The Dukes of York (active service in the Falklands War) and Sussex (Afghanistan) or even HM The Queen (WWII) or HRH Duke of Edinburgh (also WWII). All the medals worn by the first two are "honourary" as they aren't active service medals. Being your mum's son or daughter isn't earning a medal (although maybe your mum deserves one - but then only if she hadn't raised such a wet blanket).
What a stroke of luck and timing that this concluded without MEGAIN on the scene, and just Harry at the end... did she even attend one? Anyway God Save the Queen... a lady who know's how to dedicate herself to duty and service.
See 1:25 in the video for the moment when 6 shots were fired directly at the queen (you can hear them on the video). Actually they were only blank bullets but the noise unsettled the queen's horse, though she kept control. Look behind the queen in the crowd and you can see a guard pulling the teenager who'd fired the shots over the barrier. See news.sky.com/story/1710224/guard-i-saw-shots-being-fired-at-queen for a recent interview with that guard.
林祐萱 She was shot at by a teenager. The shots were blank, yes. The noise startled the horse the Queen was riding on, but luckily she calmed the horse down and continued the ceremony.
Could anyone say who is the elderly lady with flowers braided in her hair? This is on the 1985 picture from the balcony‚ top right figure? (At 1m 44s). She seems a figure from a Victorian novel by Charles Dickens...
Prajwal B M If you mean by 2001, the lady you meant is Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and the person in that carriage is not Diana. If you mean 1989, it is unknown actually, and there is chance the lady beside Diana might be the Queen Mother

God save the Queen 🏴🇬🇧
Long live the Queen❤️
What a woman, She didn't even flinch when those shots were fired. If only she had been Queen in 1776 instead of those fool Hanoverians.
She was rather busy calming down Burmese.
I'm pretty glad she wasn't. God Bless America!!!
Rip queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022
Fun Fact: in the footage of 1998, the person on the balcony talking to the Queen Mother on the left is the late Grand Duke of Luxembourg.
So 1985 is the last time HM The Queen ride a horse and wore Army's red tunic.
Really puts it into perspective.
We want the Queen back in London.
And now marks the end of her reign
RIP Queen Elizabeth ii your with Prince Philip now😔🇦🇺🇬🇧👑💐🌹🕯✝️

1953 Philip wore Field Marshal's uniform with baton & had a lot of difficulty with his horse.

Right! And Harry looked.....happy!!
Brilliant, thank you so much! What's the tune playing during the video?
Subarashi!!!
Is it really so cold in London in June that ONE needs a blanket on her lap?
Soundtrack is too loud, too much. Natural sound of the events would be better.
awww princess anne did not sit that way on the horse
What happens in the year of 1981 when her majesty the Queen? Sorry I'm a foreigner.

Slender Man Sr. thanks a lot sir. I actually had meant about the one in 2001. It's not Diana, gottcha!!!

Trooping the colour, seems awfully grey to me...
