  • Hello and welcome to episode 18 of Missle Industries XC Ford Falcon Crusty Wagon project. Today it is time to reinstall the tank, add fuel and see if the car will start all on its own without an IV bag of 98 connected to it via a length of 5/16 fuel hose! After a surprisingly short amount of cranking the Clevo roared into life and almost immediately picked up fuel from the tank.
I still have that fuel leak to fix from the front bowl of the 750 Holley, but I will eventually get to that. The good news is there was no leaking from the tank or any of its fittings at the rear of the car. With that win it was time to get back into the rust "repairs"!
In this episode I begin to address the worst of the rust this car has. By all appearances the sill, floor and torque box area on the left side of the car is the worst affected by rust. Probably a combination of previous accident damage around the sill area and the air conditioning dripping water onto the floor over the years of use by the guy that brought this wagon new in 1977!
