I went to see them in Reading, for my B-day (Im 364 days -due to time zone- older than Dami) I had heard about them a couple of years ago on Tumblr (yes, i did steal my shoelaces from the president). I thought nothing of them, other than it was another post on my feed. Fast forward: I saw an ad that they were in Reading the day before my b-day, so i got a ticket. I have now listened to nothing but Dreamcatcher since then
They had a live band for their online concerts when they couldn't tour because of covid and for the most recent concert in Seoul (2022). Dreamcatcher with a live band is a perfect match. There a a few videos on the "it's live" channel with a live band, all are fantastic!
They do occasionally have a live band but only when playing at home sadly… I can imagine touring with a live band would be insanely expensive for a small(ish) company like DCC
Yeah, they always seem to have a live band when they're doing a live streamed concert from Korea, and it's always awesome. Their Halloween concert in Seoul last year was the first time a live audience got to experience the live band. Must've been amazing! ^_^
loved the reaction as always! i will say, the english translation for chase me’s lyric video had multiple bits that weren’t very accurately translated (funnily enough, the CC had the correct translation but not the actual video LMAO 😭) but i think you still got the gist of the song’s meaning! looking forward to your thoughts on the rest of their discography

"Chase Me" ong lyrics has a secondary meaning. Not sure if you recall, Dreamcatcher is formed from a failed group called Minx which music was based on a cutesy bright concept. But as it is the norm in the Korean music scene (even now), Minx did not take off due to competition in the market due to it being saturated with girl groups doing the same thing and they could not stand out against the bigger groups or groups back by companies with much larger marketing resources (it has to be note that their company while not unknown, is still relatively small). Hence, the lyrics of Chase Me also alludes to doing something different where the industry norm, i.e. are "empty people's dreams"which are "boring", and hence, they want "something thrilling", and "gonna do something outrageous" so that "the quiet world is going to get a lot of noise". With Chase Me as their debut song, instead of them chasing after fads and trends like a "good kid" "following instincts", they are setting their own trend with their music and asking the general public to chase them and follow up instead, and they will get 'seven different little presents every day".

Thanks for the video. Even though "Chase Me" has dark lyrics, I'm with some other InSomnias that it has meaning alluding to their time as MINX and how they want to break out with that. "Chase Me" with a live band is awesome and even their live stages. It crazy how they sound even with the intense choreo. I don't know if you've gotten a chance to check them out, but I definitely recommend! No need to react though if you don't want to. Just an extra bonus. For me I interpreted "Emotion" as more of a message to their fans. Especially since they just transitioned from MINX. I'm really happy that you are reacting/reacted to their albums! I wish more reactors did that. And to their instrumentals to boot! Most people have skipped them, but they are something special. Sadly they haven't put the title instrumental since "BEcause". I wished they went back to it. Usually in their touring concerts, they don't have a live band. When covid happened, they have had online concerts. And the majority of them had a live band. Some of their best performances in my opinion. I think they're on youtube, but if you ever want to watch them and can't find it. Let me know!

The recent performances of "Chase Me" on their recent online concerts and tour hit different, not just by seeing their improvement, but a couple of them have live bands. As an InSomnia, just seeing you react to anything of theirs is nice. But seeing you be so thorough with it is even nicer! I think I've only seen a couple other reactors do this thorough of videos without putting it on patreon. So it's a nice change of pace. Though I would understand if you do put it on there.
since you mentioned you like instrumentals, i wonder if you know polyphia? i'm obsessed with their latest album. if you haven't, you should definitely check out playing god, chimera, revirie and more haha. about the reaction itself, it was fun focusing more on the lyrics of chase me, it's been a while since i read them myself so it was very refreshing. emotion is one of the many dreamcatcher ballads, it might not be their best --being their first one-- but i feel the emotion (no pun intended lol) was conveyed well. dreamcatcher instrumentals are super sick, the producers play the instruments themselves so there's even more love put into them. there are instrumentals to the titles in most albums so that'll be a great experience. dreamcatcher has a live band in certain performances, but i think it's too expensive for them as of now to fly the band overseas. they don't even fly backup dancers, so i believe that's the reason. when you catch up with the latest titles, they have live band versions of them and they've had a few online concerts with a live band. i hope deukae just keeps growing to be able to bring those band performances everywhere in the world!

No they don’t normally use a live band. Seven spirits online concert, crossroads online concert, midnight Halloween circus concert, apocalypse is Seoul concert had live bands. Those would be the only times they have used a live band outside of the It’s Live program.

Other than that, have fun diving into their bside. Their bside as u already know is gold. I watched their online concert and they had a band, it was soooo good.

I stan dreamcatcher slightly after their boca comeback, not sure if their first online concert had live band (from my memory no) But here are the online concert that have live band from what i remembered 1) Dystopia: 7 spirits (boca era) 2) Crossroad, there are 2 parts of it, day 1 which is part 1 and day 2 which is part 2. Day 1 is where they remake their songs into band acrostic version and day 2 is the usual format with live band (odd eye era) 3) Halloween midnight circus, they had like vr(?) thingy here, vr stages are not with live band but other than that, the rest are live band ( BEcause era ) 4) Apocalypse: broken halloween (vision era) I am not sure if reacting to concerts is safe here, but i guess here are more stuff to add on to your to watch list 😂
For Emotion, I don't think is about break up, but more about the relationship between them and the fans of Minx. The lyrics fits what they have been trough when redebuting as DC. My opinion tho 😅 thanks for the video
Some of these lyric videos are not always correct. There are two Arirang "Chase Me" Live Radio Broadcasts on YT. DC also appears on Simply K-Pop every Comeback which is on Arirang TV. There are also individual YT videos too or all the Comebacks are shown through the years as one video from Arirang. If you haven't seen the news, the new mini album drops 25/05/2023. The lead up is from today I think.
Tip: Do not watch the lyric video for the album Prequel's b-side, Wake Up. The lyric video Wake up is crap. Watch the video on the Happy Face channel for the You & I MV. MVs of the One the K channel do not provide subtitles.

Are you intending the album reactions to just be lyric videos? I ask because their b-sides often have Special Clips which are like lower budget MVs, although the 1 for Emotion here is more live performance style. Note: Special Clips can also be other things like Covers and other performances.
B-side special clip mvs will be on a separate video for each album ☺️ I want to be able to listen to the music and read the lyrics without being distracted by the beautiful ot7 👍🏻
Great reaction, I however have to say that the lyrics video (for at least chase me) is pretty bad, the members were correct most of the time but the lyrics didn't make much sense at all, the lyrics provided on the mv itself are better.
It's a pity they cannot have a live band when they are touring due to cost and logistics, their performances with a live band are always a level above those without.
