phil licitra You're an idiot, he was referring to him knowing he was cold and not hitting, and was happy that ibanez did what he couldn't. He put the team ahead of himself.
@@Surfer041 you’re wrong, I’ve been at a lot of playoff games since 2017. The stadium shakes especially in the bleachers. It’s louder now compared to this 2013 season video
I remember watching this in my basement with my dad. We went INSANE. That was the most excited I had been since the 09 world series. It sucks that we got swept in the next round though :(
***** My apologies for using a word you don't understand. I'm used to communicating with people that have at least a 3rd grade level education. By the way, check the standings :)
Me too. I still look back on this and think about how I was in our basement with my dad, and scared the living crap out of our cat when we jumped up and started yelling. RIP Dad
Closest thing to magic from the old stadium. Raul really was amazing and solidified himself in pinstripes even for just that one year. Never complained. Never upset. Just showed up and played the game he loved. Guy is class. Glad too see him still doing well back in Seattle. Guy is awesome.
This still hurts to watch as an O's fan, even this much later. Old man Ibanez single-handedly crushed my dreams as hard as he crushed those two clutch homers😭
What an awesome pick up he was for us. These are the types of moves that Brian Cashman makes that initially make us scratch our heads. But those years with him and Andruw Jones platooning left field, DHing, and pinch-hitting were exactly what we needed. Two veterans with a little bit left in the tank who just went out and took care of business. If only Mo and Jeter didn’t get hurt that year. What could’ve been 😔
This moment will resonate with me forever. Yanks didn’t get pass ALCS but they disposed of the Orioles in this series. A descent ball player with Philly , lost in the shuffle in NY with such massive star power, came off the bench to hit for baseball’s highest paid player and delivered not once but TWICE in the game. He can show this footage to his grand kids 30 yrs from now.
I remember this mannnnnn I was so hyped when he hit those homeruns. One to tie it and the next to win it definitely key moments in that series and without him it would of been a whole different story.
Also was there but with my gf. Ill never forget the RAUUUUUUUUIUUUL chants and the floor shaking. We were first row over the black in CF towards thr right field side. Both home runs were a perfect view from off the bat all the way to landing.
Proof that this place is too big and doesn't hold sound, the stadium is going absolutely NUTS and you can barely hear a thing. I mean look at how wild the bleachers are! but no sound, no roar like the old stadium. smh
That's not the stadium's fault, that's TBS dumbing the sound down. WWE does that too. They lower the crowd noise so the announcers can talk. Get mad at TBS, not the new stadium.
+R.J. Perfetto I went to my first Yankee game last Friday (A-Rods last game) and I was at the top down 1st baseline and it so damn loud up there. But you would never know it watching on TV. I remember as a kid watching the games, the camera would shake and you can hear how loud it was.
You can tell that TBS purposely lowered the crowd noise after the homeruns, listen to the crowd off the sound of the bat compared to a few seconds later. Sound may not be held in like the old stadium, but the new one isn't awful either.
Such a weird yankee post season that year. I don't know how to explain it but you could feel those Ibanez homers coming watching it live. It was a magical kind of post season. The kind of magic that usually leads to a world series win. But the moment Jeter got injured late in game 1 of the ALCS everybody could instantly feel that magic disapear.
I was at this game with my brother and father. I went absolutely ape shit when he hit the second homerun. The greatest game I have ever been too. They should show the camera from the great hall because that's where I was. Pure mayhem.
I saw that game and when he hit the first one I was estatic but when he hit the game winner I was beside myself yelling and clapping. That's what being a Yankee is about. Moments especially in postseason like that coming through in the clutch to win. Raul Ibanez had his Yankee moment.
Imagine you just got subbed into the playoffs for Alex Rodriguez, and you do exactly what’s keeping you in the league at that point, hit 2 clutch home runs that few veterans/legends could do. That was unbelievable. Big fan of Raul.
Mike Illmatic He also had several big hits in September coming in, when the Yankees needed every one of those wins to stave off the Orioles from the AL East crown
Derek Jeter getting seriously injured carried off the field Game 1 in the ALCS against the Tigers completely ruined that whole Postseason and year. The whole momentum died for the Yankees after that the entire series as the Yankees were swept. I hated that Yankees Postseason series the most of any 2010 to 2019.
Raul is the man. Its a shame the Yankees allowed him to sign with another team. Even sadder this week when ESPN let him go. He is a talented baseball player and analyst. I hope he lands on his feet soon. Good luck Raul!!
Tom Ryan I agree. I thought the Mariners had the worst announcer but after I heard other teams I noticed that most teams are pretty bad. It seems like teams don't care about investing in a quality announcers anymore which is really sad. Many of them just take a former player or a guy who worked for a TV station and call him an announcer.
I was here, one of the greatest things I've ever seen. The next game I went to was game 1 of the ALCS…when he tied it up in the 9th with ANOTHER clutch dinger.

I remember that great season he was having in phillie then he got hurt if woulda been healthy he woulda won mvp that year raul Ibanez has been a great player for a long time
Ibanez also had an insane game tying homer at the very end of the reg szn to get them to the yoffs, AND an insane game tying homer in game 1 of the ALCS. Man was Jesus in a losing effort
Derek Jeter never got benched in the playoffs because he came to play. A-Rod went back to choke-Rod in this postseason. Which led to Raul Ibanez becoming a hero here
I was at this game and holy shit this was so amazing. The place went fucking apeshit for both HRs, I literally had no voice not more than a minute after Raul's walk off HR.
I love it when other teams root for the most respected team. On the other hand, mostly redsox fans know they are the best team in baseball history, but ignore the fact and curse us out for no reason. Bros who respect the yanks for who they r, LETZ GO😄

It would have been awesome to win it all in 2012 with all the star power. While Most weren't in their prime: Ichiro, Teixara, Jeter, Arod, Cano, CC, Pettite, Andruw Jones.. WOW!!!
I lost my fucking shit when he did this. I literally went nuts.
Shut up you filthy little mud blood

This is one of the most underrated Yankee moments of all time
No doubt...
Couldn’t make this up if you wanted to .. it was amazing to watch
Ibanez is an electrifying hitter, he's so clutch. He'll be forever loved and remembered as a yankee.
He I enjoyed the time he was here .. remind me of our time with Bobby abreu
I remember watching this on TV. Unbelievable.
At that time I thought that that second homer was a replay of the first. Crazy.

me too, my parents were asleep and when he hit that second bomb i was running around my house shouting in joy. good memories :)

the eruption in that stadium... its addicting to hear, and Ibanez thought so too, so he had to hear it a second time :P
