    This guy was Thierry Henry’s first mentor and his role model, even drove him to training for a time. That alone tells you what a player he was. Baller.

    Brazil used to produce strikers for FUN. If they had this guy now, he'd walk into their first 11 and they'd be a favorite for the next World Cup. I miss the 80s/90's and all the strikers.

    Brazil deadly strikers late 90 s / early 2000 s : Ronaldo , Romario , Bebeto , Edmundo , Amoroso , Sonny Anderson , Giovanny , Adriano , sometimes Rivaldo and Ronaldinho played as second strikers too and were also an immense threat for the opposition . I am sure I forgot one or two or some more.
    But today there is NONE . Since Ronaldo ' s retirement in 2011 I cannot think of even one striker with the abilities of the above mentionend . Maybe the closest would have been Pato but he also didn' t play long after 2012 I think . In all honesty , they shouldn ' t have given the number 9 shirt to any of today s strikers since Ronaldo ' s retirement. No one of today comes even near to be worthy of that ! Brazil always used to be the nation with the best attacking forces and look what it has become now . The first striker today wouldn ' t even make it in their 4 th team back then ...

      In most teams yes but there are still some number 9 s out there ( Lewandowski comes to mind for example ) . But with my comment I also wanted to make the point that Brazil is much less dangerous in attack than in the past in comparison .

      Yes , Jardel and Elber those were the two on the edge of my mind which I meant when I wrote " I am sure I forgot maybe two or even more . Very good strikers !

    easily better than Firmino (who is pretty good don't get me wrong), and yet he was like the eight or ninthbest brazilain forward from his time. That tells you the story you need to know, a country that had Ronaldo, Romario, Edmundo, Amoroso, Jardel, Elber, Luizao, Sonny Anderson, Dodô, Tulio and Bebeto in the same fucking decade... that's so unfair to some of those guys who legit would start in any national team todat (all of then for example individually are better strikers than a very good one like Werner or Firmino, who play for the 2 biggest national teams in the world)

    • @regista9515

      The fact u compare him to firmino tell u know nothing about this sport, different players no one have little knowledge about this sport can compare them

      @@regista9515 absolute nonsense you just said. No one is claiming they are equal players, but both are attacking players and I'm simply comparing then individually as players. What is the problem with that?

      @@Luckymag-if4dw nonsense? Lmafoo, bruh that is for casuals,, they compare any one to other cuz they all" forwards", him and firmino different profiles u really can't, that is like said klose better than bergkamp, and even with that its one of the worst takes i have ever seen، among all the players right now u choose on of the most technical and Intelligent players too say sonny anderson better than him 😁😁

    • @Luckymag-if4dw
      @Luckymag-if4dw 2 роки тому

      Sonny Anderson is a better player than Firmino in my opinion, the sdame way Bergkamp was better than Klose. Just cause they don't play exactly the same position it doesn't mean I can't make a fair analyisis considering their relative contribution to the game in their respective positions. Firmino is very good, but so was Sonny, he simply got really really unlucky to be among the single greatest generation of forwards any country ever had at the same time (Brazil 90s/00s)

      @@Luckymag-if4dw i talked about how to compare players enough, but sonny better than firmino??? WOOOOW, people in this sport will not agree with that, many of his teammates said he is the most gifted in team have players like vvd, salah mane thiago, poch said he is top 3 players in the pl, almost all top coaches speaks about his value and talent, halland and other some top strikes of the game (don’t remember names) when the asked about top strikers nowdays firmino was one of them in her opinions", thiago silva said firmino on of the hardest strikers he play aganist and u know the names he play aganist 😊, so is vvd, klopp said there will be books will write about how he play the false 9 ", kloop once have 20 coaches from germany in match for liverpool, after the match all of them praised one player guess who? Yes firmino and he doesn’t even score or assist this match , i can go but that enough, i played football for one of the two biggest clubs in my country and played till i was teen then i leave football cuz i don't care about football anymore and some other reasons and i can tell firmino is fucken baller, but u said sonny better than him 😔😔
