I find it amusing that when the Bucs were the 4 seed, they were the scary team that nobody wanted to face but as the 3 seed now it's oh, I think this rookie is gonna pull off the upset. It's a good point about an offense that is elite at running against the blitz when that is the #3 run defenses bread and butter. That is definitely something I didn't catch coming into this matchup. While that is a factor, a majority of their rushing yards did come from Daniels and one thing the Commanders haven't faced is one Lavonte David who plays the run incredibly well but is also still a force in pass pro. It seems like everybody is forgetting that the Bucs are coming in with the #3 pass and #4 run offense. The ONLY team in the NFL to be top 5 in both and I am not sure that the Commanders D is ready to stop all the weapons that Liam Coen is gonna have to use against them. Not just with personnel, but scheme wise as well. The Commanders are 29th against the run and Coen has already said that the offense will run through the backfield. If one team has a better chance of using the run game to steal a possession and dominate the clock it's the Bucs. One thing about the Bucs D is that they still have been lights out in the second half the last 6 games and overall are trending the right way heading into this Sunday night. Plus, they get Winfield back and it's looking like Dean will be back as well. Their injuries this year have been a major factor in the passing D being so poor. The Bucs were also 4-2 against playoff teams with the KC loss due to Bowles playing it a bit conservative. Something he has rectified. I think there is a lot of self-convincing going on with all the pundits taking the upstart road team here against a playoff veteran team at home. I see the Bucs putting up 40 and dominating the time of possession. Time to put the NFL on notice that the Bucs are indeed a scary team in the playoffs that nobody wants to face.
Just as a note about Heinicke, they didn't decide to run it back with him the next season. They had signed Ryan Fitzpatrick to a one year deal to be the starter, then he goes down in the first game for the season (and his career) They had no choice but to go with him. Anyways Heinicke will always be a local legend, and glad he was able to cash some NFL checks.
Doubted? They are the favorites....... Line might even be pushed to 3.5....... they are literally NOT doubted by the only truly measurable marker....... 😅
8 out of 12 Commanders wins were by one score or less. Their last 4 wins came in the final seconds. This is not sustainable in the playoffs. On the Bucs side, 8 of 10 wins were by more than one score. A much more dominating team throughout the season.
Washington is the only team entering the playoffs with a 5 game winning streak, those close wins just got them battle tested for playoffs. They’re a dangerous team
Yeah and the games they lost were the same way bruh, these statistic literally mean nothing, you don’t beat good teams by ten every damn game, we blew out the bad ones, and we won these game in crunch time, that’s actually scarier than a normal team, a team that wins this much in crunch time
If this was any other team I would agree but since u know NOTHING about us then u would know those close wins are games we would've lost in the past, also our losses outside of 1 game was by 1 score
@ neither does the commanders then if that’s the case our front seven are equal in skill and secondary is trash but we will have dean and Winfield back
It is 100% to the Bucs benefit that Baker was snubbed for Pro Bowler, subbed in MVP conversations, Subbed in All-Pro conversations and now the entire team is been bet against vs a team that they beat week 1. There are always excuses when it comes to the Bucs, Meanwhile, there is no reasoning for why the Bucs should win, though the Bucs are the only NFC team to have participated in the playoffs for the past 5 years, which includes notable victories as well as a SB. All of these benefits the Bucs. Im not saying that there's no way Washington can win this game, that would be ridiculous to assume. It's clear that though many didnt expect Washington to have such a season, it's clear that Daniels has a clutch gene. Im just saying that folks so emphatically picking the are not considering how potent the Bucs offense is. This is a team that scored less than 24 points just 3 times this season. This team puts up points every week, on everyone. Meanwhile, the Commanders scored less than 24 points 7 times this season. Meaning, It's realistic to think that the Bucs could hold the Commanders to 23 or less points, while it is unlikely for the Commanders defense to hold the Bucs to 23 points or less. I think that the Commnaders are a great running team that are designed for the rushing/scambling game. However, the Commanders are bottom 10 in passing. The Bucs are top 4 on Passing and top 10 in rushing. The Commanders best rusher is their Quarterback. The Bucs best rusher is their Running back while Baker has really up'd his game as a scrambler putting up the most rushing yards of his career while leading the league in 3rd down conversion rate. Why none of this was considered, I dont know. What I do know, is that this disrespect should benefit the Bucs.
We’re entering the era of the redskins. The spirit of this team is going to set a new precedent in the NFL over the next decade plus. With that kind of heart, stats don’t matter
I like washington matching up evans and mcmillan with Lattimore and sainistril. WSH is terrible vs tightends but not sure if otton is playing. Bucs best path is Bucky to go wild. But Jayden can offset that with his legs.
Commanders dont get much love, theyre looked at as lucky to be where they are, which is BS. The chiefs havent been looked at as lucky to be where they are, and theyve clearly been lucky numerous times in games they won. The commanders actually took the games they won, and there's not been a more clutch qb in football this year
To be fair, the Bucs got the same treatment all season. Now that we're in the playoffs people are giving us credit but crickets during the regular season
I love Baker but to say "He carried the team on his back" is fkn ridiculous...The rushing attack has been phenomenal...The Defense over the last 6 games has allowed a total of 9 points in the 2nd half...The Aints game the offense and the defense were terrible in the first half and the defense held the Aints to 3 points in the 2nd half and those came off of an interception...
Hahaha, maybe you'll be the team to figure him out! It's not brain science. He's just better than the opposition. He's faster, calmer, and deadly accurate.
That Baker Mayfield down 10 stat isn't even true. His very first NFL game he was down 11 vs the Jets and he was also down 13 to the Raiders his first game with the Rams. The stats guys don't count those games cause he technically didn't start them...

He said he didn't think or see it a laziness but didn't quit now what other word to explain his lack of domination though entire games with his obvious talent or just his shear size & strength alone. I think some of that size is actually what limits some of his explosiveness though out game. Some what of more about stamina, It most consume a lot of energy to get that much mass moving play in play out. I could see why he might be trying to maybe pick his spots to true go balls out and if he tried going that hard on every play he just wouldn't make it past the first half. I don't truly "watch" TB every week and I don't know what kind of rotation they use and how often they are able to spell him like from holding that middle down. Do they spot spell him or give him whole series off like a lot of rushing DE or is he seeing 80/100% of defensive snaps a game. I would think as large as he is he might need a little more then just 3rd and longs off during a whole game. I might have to go and look at his avg. snap counts and see what that looks like. One of the things Washington has really gotten good at that they have done all year is that no-huddle faster snap count. That could really slow down Vita Vea's effectiveness, making him go quick from play to play. If Washington can be consistent on 1st. and 3rd like they have much of the year. They just can't fall back into killing themselves with penalties like they have in a few of the games and having to go 1st & 20 or 3rd & +10. They need to stay ahead of the chains for that no-huddle style. This should be a really good match up. Both teams seem like they are going to be relatively healthy for this time of the year and there are a number of ways I could really see this one going. I hope Washington pulls it out and I don't care how but if not it's be a great first season for this club and I wont be mad that they are one of the 1 and dones .
