"I done more for you baby than the good Lord ever done,I put hair on your head he didn't give you none" - Hound Dog Taylor great lesson...love the song :D
I've been doin' the G slide to 8 and the pull off all wrong all these years :-( ,,, thanks for settin me straight on that. Such a fun song to play, a great example of attitude over technique.
Mike Baratta Keep in mind that this lesson is based on how Stevie played it, but if you go back and listen to the Hound Dog Taylor version it was a slightly different pattern.
+Texas Blues Alley Got a vid for the Hound Dog version? Or know where I can find one? That one's my favorite. Also, what are you doing with your left on each bar? Is there a slight mute beat going on there after each bar? If so, are you palm muting, lifting your finger, or what? I'm having hard time keeping the notes from ringing out and blurring together. Are you barring the e along with the B on the Four?
Hey great lesson! One of my favorite blues songs!! Have you ever done a lesson Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Pride and Joy"?, the electric version? Thank yo for posting this.
How do you get that awful sound? It sounds great. Are you playing thru a Peavey Bandit on 10 or a Pignose with a broken speaker ? Lots of fun great lesson
when are you going to give a lesson on the whole song ? hmmmm I want to sing and play it without the slide bar. I keep trying to listen to it but can't get wjats going on other than the parts you showed all ready

What a fabulous line in a song! 🤣
Love those greasy sounds. This opens up all kinds of avenues to a riff.
Cool lesson! I was just listening to Hound Dog Taylor's live version, so this is perfect.

Thanks man! My blues band does this rockin' good tune and I've been playing it slightly wrong from the outset.
