I think I may have given you this tip before, but if not... I recycle empty Rx medicine bottles to hold Q-Tips for travel. Can get a lot of them into one bottle. I also use them to hold antibacterial wipes for airplanes, hotel rooms, and cruise cabins. Depending on the size of the wipes, I can fit 6-8 wipes into one normal size Rx medicine bottle - and they will not leak. Saves us money as the single use ones are much more expensive per wipe than ones from bulk size canisters. Also better for the environment as no excess waste from the packets.
@@kimcarroll1129 Yes, I always take extra baggies (of various sizes) with me. But, for wipes, have found the Rx bottles to be neater & more leak-free than than zip lock bags. Have been traveling all over the world by air, sea and train for over 50 years and this hack - which I've used for the past 20 years - works well for us. YMMV.
Hey Laurie! I just wanted to pop on here quickly and say a huge big THANK YOU for all yoυr suggestions, tips, & tricks! I "traveled 'half' the globe without a worry in the world" 🦘🇦🇺 because of yoυr ingenius ideas. Thank you for sharing yoυr experiences as a pilot's wife!
Wow, a lot of great suggestions Laurie, thank you. The suggestion of toilet paper reminded me, are you familiar with Potty Packs? That is both the company name and their original product, although they have quite a few little pocket sized kits now. I always keep a potty pack in my purse, and usually one or two of their other little packets too. Personally, I find the Park Pack and the Winter Pack the most useful for my needs, but they do have quite a variety. The travel pack can be good for your in flight amenity kit, and younger women might find a period pack useful to keep on hand for 'unexpected arrivals'. I have changed to a solid sunscreen, in something that looks like a solid deoderant canister. I get it at Walmart, and recently discovered the tiniest travel size solid deoderant I've ever seen at Walmart - in the travel section, Native, they are organic too. I use the dry soap sheets meant for hikers to do my laundry in the hotel sink. Also something called a Scrubba Wash Bag, which serves as a dry bag and also lets me easily wash out the day's clothing at night to hang up to dry for the next day.
Olay makes all in one dry cloths that replace cleanser, a makeup remover, a toner, a scrub, and a mask. Because they are dry and water activated, they don't count as liquid. They are available through Amazon
Nothing we can do about fakes…I could care less how many people have the same bag as myself…that makes it really spoken for.. I hate when people say they don’t want a certain purse because everyone has it….well everyone has a hole are we gonna get rid of ours because of that? Everyone one does something different with their *hotdups* for example their style, your style will set you apart.
We just returned from 2 weeks in Germany, Austria & Italy. We traveled with a large garment bag that had our formalwear for our Sons wedding in Austria. I was determined to make our suitcase as light as possible. I listened to your suggestions and purchased items from Amazon that I loved and would highly recommend also. The makeup case is perfect and I loved the liquids bag. That was included. Tide packets came in handy as well as the individual wash cloth squares that expand with water! I tossed away our plastic bar soap holder and used the soap bag.. LOVED IT😊 I bought a second set of National park compression bags too. My only complaint were the wheel covers, they didn’t hold up over the cobblestones and we tossed them in Italy 🤣 I love your tips and the items you recommended are amazing..minus the wheel covers 😂 All the items I have purchased over the past 2 years have made packing and travel so easy 🙏 God bless for your help
Thanks Laurie I ordered 4 items off of your list tonight. Prepping for the safari adventure coming up and the S France river cruise. You do find the best things!!!!
I use those little pill pouches for everything! Work for even creams, hair paste, first aid, sewing kit etc for edc purse. Very indispensable for travel.
Excellent tips!!!!!!!!! I put some of the items you suggested in my Amazon cart I am getting them for my upcoming trip I feel I can't go on my trips without your travel tips Thank you God bless
As an Australian, my flights tend to be long-maybe 11 hours to first layover (which might be hours) , then another 8 or ten hours next flight. I like to strip off my makeup and redo it mid way, so I carry a couple of facial cleaner wipes, then for moisturizer and foundation, I put a little bit in a contact lens case. Each little compartment holds just the right amount for one full re-do.
I always really love seeing your videos pop up here Laurie, and this one is fantastic. I have got so many wonderful toiletries ideas now. Can’t wait to travel again! Thank you!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurieI could have used them in a "pocket hotel" in Glasgow! The sink was so narrow that the water ran down my elbows and got my feet wet when I washed my face!😂. By the way, have you tried the L'Oreal eyelash primer?
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie Well, you know that Lancome and L'Oreal are the same company, right? The great thing about "drugstore brands" is that you can return them and get a refund if you don't like them at Walgreens, Rite Aid, and Ulta. Higher price with cosmetics doesn't necessarily equal higher quality. My friend who's a make-up artist told me that and I've experienced it myself.
Instead of mascara primer, buy a tubing mascara. They don't flack, smudge, and come off with just warm water. Lots of makeup brands have them. Elf has a great one ( $8.00 ) dupe for Trive ( $ 24.00 ). Calaray has a good one, too. This eliminates carrying 2 separate items.
Love all your videos. When you’re cleaning down your area on the plane, don’t forget to wipe down your headrest!!!! Also, I read that you’re allowed to carry more than 3.4 ounce container of antibacterial liquid. I carry about a 6 ounce container of spray antibacterial liquid and then use it in my rental car as well. ☺️
Hi Laurie, thanks for the Sephora reusable travel jars information. I’ve checked into other brands and they are very pricey. Turns out this weekend Sephora had a sale and I got them for 50% off, only $6 for 3 jars! Can’t beat that.
Hey!!! I’m Dana. New Follower and loving your channel. Thank you for taking the time to put these videos together. I love them and you totally keep me company when I’m traveling alone. I’ll be traveling quite a bit this year, so I’m wanting to pack smarter but look stylish while walking through the airport. I’ve been working on finding great looking 2 or 3 pc sets that are comfy but looks terrific (classy & rich). Keep the videos coming. 🤗
Laurie, I’m at O’Hare and on my way to Denver right now, and because you have taught me so much, I stress less. Thank you for sharing your wisdom about and experience with travel. You bless so many. I wish you tremendous joy and peace.
I discovered Body Glide years ago when our family would go to Walt Disney World. Absolutely the best thing ever to put on your feet to prevent blisters or to prevent chafing on other parts of your body. This also reminds me I need to put this on my list for my November trip to Munich!
I’ve been using those wrist bands for a year now. They are amazing and part of my daily routine! I keep 3 sets so I can frequently wash/rotate them out. They’re the best!
For keeping water from running down your arms while washing your face, the old style cotton sweat bands (used by tennis players) work too. And probably cheaper!
Trader Joe’s doesn’t sell their products online, resellers often sell their products for way more than what TJ’s is selling it for. Highly recommend buying the sunscreen in person if you can.
Thanks for your videos. I loved them! If you're sitting next to the airplane/bus window, don't forget to wipe down the window with your anti-bacteria wipes.
Hey Laurie and everyone. Avoid watery shampoos and consider eco-friendly concentrated shampoo and conditioner Everist. My hair looks so healthy now too. For hand washing / Laundry, you can cut pieces of True Earth laundry strips. No liquid and eco-friendly again. I also put a chunk of deodorant into a small jar. Lasts forever. Takes little space. Happy travels! Would you consider doing a sustainable travel tips video?
Another great video. My tip: when dying my roots, they have a teenie bottle in the box & I save, wash out well & re-use when traveling to decant toner, mouthwash, nail polish remover, etc. Total space savers. I can then toss out or fill again, depending on what I've previously filled them up with. 😊
Hey Laurie Just wanted to say the headband is amazing. Can't believe I haven't tried one of these before. Perfect for washing your face as well as when you apply skincare or make up. It will definitely be in my carry on when I travel to the US later this year. Love your fantastic channel. Gill in the UK
They make biodegradable individually-wrapped floss picks -- can you try those out? I've seen you recommend the plastic ones many times, and while I see the practicality, it would be nice to know if the more eco-friendly option works since lots of people are buying items based on your videos.
Hi Laurie! I am thoroughly enjoying all your tips & tricks. I am using many of them. I had never heard of shampoo bars until I saw one of your videos. I am a bit concerned with fitting everything into my liquids bag. So, I ordered a shampoo & conditioner bar from Amazon. Not lush, as they did not have it but something else that had good reviews. I hope it will work for me! Thanks again! ❤️
I was just thinking this myself! I have major problems every time I go on a beach vacation with sandals blistering even though I wear them all the time with no problems at home. Buying some right away for our next trip!
If those little jars are magnetic, then they should attach to walls on cruise ship. 🤪 Here’s a cheap tip. Use a good-sized safety pin to close top of your pants pocket on pants. Would make it difficult for pickpocket. I never tuck in my shirts, so no one can see it. Those facial sponges are cute. Hi Aulie.
Thanks a lot Laurie for all your wonderful tips. I travel a lot and your content is always "my go to" days before my trip to check on whatever I will be needing and surely your tips are always sent from heaven😁
Thank you for your videos! A friend recommended you and like you, we fly standby! Going to Europe in July with just a carry on!😬 I’ve done it before and it made my husband so happy! Your tips are so great and helpful!!
I have that travel toothbrush and I love it. I also have a terry cloth headband and wristbands. I love that I don’t have water dripping down my arms as I wash my face. I have the Q-Tip travel case you can get in the travel size area from Target. I use the sandwich bad and cotton ball tip with my toner and eye makeup remover. I love the little ziplock bags for my jewelry and other items too. So convenient. The Tide pens are very awesome. Love them.
Thanks for another great video Laurie! I’ve used so many of your wonderful tips over the past few years even though I don’t pack carryon only: you’ve helped me save a lot of time & space! I like those little heart-shaped sponges you showed but I recently discovered the Olay Daily Facials Water-Activated Dry Cloths & took enough for each day (in a ziplock bag) w/me to Europe. They’re great for removing makeup & save on precious liquids space. Now I need the eyelash primer & TJ Sunscreen! Thanks again!
Hi Laurie, Gloria here. We canceled our trip to Israel so we are going to Italy instead. In September. Can’t wait. Anyway your videos have helped me sooo much! By the way you look beautiful, fit and rested. 😊
Laurie: I just bought the Tripped Toiletry set based on your recommendation. I like the liquids bag but can't wrap my head around how to use the other part of the set. I can't figure out how to organize it. Plus, since I have TSA Precheck my liquids don't need to be out. So, I tried closing it up inside the other bag but it does not fit. Do you have any suggestions for how to use it differently? Or, how could I use it in a better way to use it as the toiletry set? I do love the quality! {and I snagged it on a deal}. Maybe you could do an updated video with all the things you put in the bag? Thanks!!
I can totally do that. I put brushes in the top with whatever else goes. I put makeup palettes etc in the bottom hanging part. Then I put toothbrush, comb, hair band, wrapped floss sticks in the mesh part. This flight I am packing my in-flight essentials in the bottom part so I can hang it sometimes.
Laurie, I live in San Antonio and Lush is still open in the Shops at La Cantera. I bet they would ship to you. I love their shampoo, conditioner and lotion bars for travel! Also use those toothpaste tablets.
@@lynnevandewalle3829 I need to visit! They only have one online, and I received it and it's the one I use so I am so relieved!!! Thank you so much Lynn!
I don’t think you showed the reusable pouches in this video but I can’t find the original video or the pouches-you said they collapse down when using whatever you have in them. I think they are silicone -don’t think the gotube-do you have link for these pouches? TIA
I flew internationally last month. The airline gave out wipes as we boarded, but I forgot to wipe the buckle of the seatbelt. I came down with the flu the day after I got home again. At least I didn't get sick outbound.
Basin is my favorite online store for shampoo & conditioner bars. They also have bath bombs and other items that I don’t use for travel, but I use the shampoo & conditioner bars every day. (I discovered their stores at Disney Springs & the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World)
So if you need more space but have a spill prone husband like me, I constantly have stain remover wipes that come in a blue box from dollar tree....they are amazing and a god send especially when he drops his choccie ice cream on his white shirt....it came out like it was never there. He has then now in his work bag for when he has business meetings.
Hi, it is, but some airlines are counting them as extras I have heard. I talk about and show it in another Amazon video from last year, but I felt like it was totally obvious.
If your first cleanse doesn’t pass the mascara test, try something different. I have had great luck with Beauty of Joseon Radiance Cleansing Balm (and the container is awesome to reuse) and ROHTO Hadalabo Gokujun Cleansing Oil if you prefer an oil or have dry skin.
For the peeps - I get the replacement pads for cleaning after they gross. So you don't have to keep ordering new peeps, you can order the replacement cleaning pads :)
Laundry detergent sheets are my current product that I use for both home and travel. I use Earth Breeze, unscented. They work great. For travel you can cut or tear into smaller pieces for sink washing. Or if you have a washing machine in your accommodation, you can use a whole sheet.
RMS Beauty makes awesome oil wipes to replace the makeup remover balm on travel. With micellar water as the second step all sunscreen and makeup is gone in the evening 😊
Off topic for this particular video, but you recommend the Flex Flap for your phone. Do you think it could be used to hold a drink in a grocery cart? So for example, at Costco, could I use the Flex Flap around my drink (through the holes in the cart), to keep the drink upright and held in the top basket? (No kids to worry about, but those lids don't completely close and I've already dropped one drink there.) :)
I can only guess that you might be planning a video on your "shallow containers" as you called them. I have watched several videos on this brand and I am interested to see what you think of them after several months of use. I did find them to be a bit pricey and while they are super cool and compact, I do not love that for many products you have to stick your fingers in or use a little cosmetic spatula. I have read they do not hold up so well. I am still looking at getting some small airless pump bottles for my face wash and lotion etc and some super small spray bottles for things like heat protectant spray for my hair and the like. I recently found sample bottles of my favourite shampoo and conditioner that come in little pouches similar to the refillable ones you can get on amazon and I really liked travelling with those!!!
I have seen those pouches. I have not liked the pump bottles probably because my lotion is so thick it would not budge. I like them but I really need to take more than the shallow amount holds honestly. I like how they close and I like that they're magnetic.

I am a bit concerned with fitting everything into my liquids bag. So, I ordered a shampoo & conditioner bar from Amazon. Not lush, as they did not have it but something else that had good reviews. I hope it will work for me! Thanks again! ❤️
Hope they work! Have fun
Body Glide is excellent on feet too. When shoes create a little hot spot (blister) a little Body Glide on it will save you!
What?! Travel hack!
You are so welcome!
Thank you for your videos! A friend recommended you and like you, we fly standby! Going to Europe in July with just a carry on!😬 I’ve done it before and it made my husband so happy! Your tips are so great and helpful!!
Thank you! Love the Mary Kay tip!
I love that you mention when something is or isn’t considered a liquid ❤
Ooh glad that is helpful.
Yay! Hey Laurie! Been missing you. Glad to see you and hear of these great items! God Bless you and your family!
Blessings to you!
As always another helpful video! Thank you. Jr
Hey Laurie, Thanks again. FYI the link to GoToob container is the same has the headband.
Love them.
So cool!
I just love your videos Laurie! Thank you from Australia
Hi!!
Love your videos! Subscribed!
Yay! Thank you!
That's great!
Great video! I use so many of your travel tips.
Hi Mary! Glad the tips help
I’ve always used hotel/resort/cruise shampoos to rinse clothes out.
Yes, it's another option.
For laundry one could use Sunlight bar soap, it is for laundry, and shave a few pieces off the big bar to use, that way it won't count as a liquid.
Love that hack
Great tips, thank you!
Love BK Beauty brushes !!
Thanks Laurie, I now have a shopping list with 4 items!
They’re so fun and actually help when traveling!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie you're going to be the financial death of me 🤣🤣
Hi Laurie, Gloria here. We canceled our trip to Israel so we are going to Italy instead. In September. Can’t wait. Anyway your videos have helped me sooo much! By the way you look beautiful, fit and rested. 😊
Unless the government said not to than I would still go. Don't believe the mainstream media stories
Sounds great! I hope it’s a wonderful vacation.
Another great dup for your sunscreen is the e.l.f. Whoa Glow sunscreen. Has an sfp of 30. Fantastic product and much more reasonable than the Goop. 😊
I take laundry detergent sheets. Perk they are dry and you can tear them for small sink loads. Love these videos btw!
Such a good lightweight item.
Nice story of friendship!
I will buy the magnetic container interesting
I ended up using one as my flight pouch for enough hand lotion.
I love your videos, they are so helpful. Just want to let you know that the link for the pink pouch is for a different travel bag. 😊
Hi, thanks so much. Here it is: amzn.to/4erDydM
This is another great travel tips video, especially for carry-on only. (Wife of a DFW pilot).
Glad it was helpful!
Also don’t forget to wipe down the a/c and light buttons…and the window grip thingy if you’re by the window.
Good one!
Love❤ your travel essentials videos! The floss packets are great, ordered for our Panama trip in 2 weeks! 👙🦀🌴🌺🌞
Ooh have such a great trip! I wanna go
I have an extra suitcase with your name on it! :)🥰
@@kymberlythomoff1231 Bwhahahaha
Thank you so much .. so many get ideas.
Do carry and first aid kit , ie stuff for travellers diarrhoea etc.. not carry on
Thanks for your wonderful tips. Your dog is adorable❤
Thank you! 😊
TIA
You look so cute in the headband!
You are so kind!
always love your info...viv
So excited to finally see a new video. Love it
Meeee toooo!
Thanks Stephanie! Do not miss the freebie.
Love this thank you!
So glad!
I flew internationally last month. The airline gave out wipes as we boarded, but I forgot to wipe the buckle of the seatbelt. I came down with the flu the day after I got home again.
At least I didn't get sick outbound.
True!
Lush relocated and reopened in Market Street! Whew!
I have not gone yet but did order the correct one online. Whew!
Basin is my favorite online store for shampoo & conditioner bars. They also have bath bombs and other items that I don’t use for travel, but I use the shampoo & conditioner bars every day. (I discovered their stores at Disney Springs & the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World)
Cool!
Laurie, I've seen the "tube" where you pack extra clothes or personal items, and it can be used as a neck pillow. Is this TSA approved?
Hi, it is, but some airlines are counting them as extras I have heard. I talk about and show it in another Amazon video from last year, but I felt like it was totally obvious.
If your first cleanse doesn’t pass the mascara test, try something different. I have had great luck with Beauty of Joseon Radiance Cleansing Balm (and the container is awesome to reuse) and ROHTO Hadalabo Gokujun Cleansing Oil if you prefer an oil or have dry skin.
Thank you so much!
Love your tips! ❤
Thank you!
For the peeps - I get the replacement pads for cleaning after they gross. So you don't have to keep ordering new peeps, you can order the replacement cleaning pads :)
I saw that they now have replacement pads. May get some because mine for my purse are old.
So Good! I have the makeup brush case and I love it, but DON’T get black! You can’t see inside it, so I will get the light colored one for next trip.
Ooh I never would've thought about that. Great point!
Laundry detergent sheets are my current product that I use for both home and travel. I use Earth Breeze, unscented. They work great. For travel you can cut or tear into smaller pieces for sink washing. Or if you have a washing machine in your accommodation, you can use a whole sheet.
Love it! So helpful for a long trip too. I could make a 4 hour long video if I showed every essential lol.
RMS Beauty makes awesome oil wipes to replace the makeup remover balm on travel. With micellar water as the second step all sunscreen and makeup is gone in the evening 😊
Thanks!
Are the plastic “quart” size pouches actually TSA approved? Or will you have to move everything to a ziploc?
In the us I use mine but if going to another country, I use the slim plane to see bag.
