My Mate X arrived yesterday here in Tokyo, took me a lot of effort and half a morning to figure out how the lights go on, and where the fxxk are the connectors for the lights. Hope I seen this before! The mate.bike people responded to my inquirery 12 hours too late and refered me to your excellent video (maybe you should charge them!). I hope you'd also shown where the reflectors go in (I still can't quite figure out the ones for the tires), although I think I got them right through guess work. Anyway, thanks for this!
on the other side of the rear rack there are nice fixings for the cable of the rear light. Also this goes nicely just up until the hole in the frame where the cable came from. No need to make any special custom construction and the cable is almost gone.
Chris Brown IX I figured out you have to press and hold the plus button on the controller for the motor. Not the minus, mind...that makes the bike take off. Haha
The wireing to the back lights isent supposed to run that way. Theres small plastic clips in the box, and on the lugage carrier theres some "holes" you can attach the clips to, so the wiring to the back lights look neat and hidden. ;)
You are right. The rail for the back light cable is on the right side of the bike not on the left. That way you don't need zip ties because it's the right lenght and looks much nicer too.
If only my mate actually came with all the parts. Some where missing (including the light an horn) several weeks later - no response to my asks for help. ... Edit 3 months later. MATE followed up with delivering lights. They did eventually get back to me on how to request replacement parts.
@@antoineyassa718 Hey Antoine, so if you get this Rear-rack perk you will get Back Light and Head Lamp included as well? Seems to me they forget the Head Lamp
hariantoness I got all that stuff for free including a full color LCD screen, fenders, rear rack, front and rear lights.... I waited 15 months for the bike so I guess that is their present to me. I love my MATE X!
Thank you, Robert, for taking the time to make this instruction video. Super helpful for everyone.
What is the lights for 😮

Are we just gonna ignore the fact that he burped into the mic? Lol
Nice dude...was wondering where the headlight cable was! No bolts for my rear light. Hardware store time...grrrr
No sabemos el porqué sale es cable de esa caja... Yo tengo un cable amarillo y no sé para, que sirve
No sé. Hice la instalación hace cuatro años y entonces no había ningún cable amarillo. Tal vez pregunte en www.mate.bike/
Where is the button for turning the light on?
Right? I can only seem to find the indicators and the horn...
Indeed, I have the front light installed (thank you Robert Larkin). The horn works but I cannot figure out how to turn the front light on.

@@mariusfinnstun Thank you so much!
Super! Thank you!!!!
There are "hooks" under the rear fork and the rack to attach the wrap on.
Do you have a link for the front light cant find one anywhere? thanks
Thank you for the install video.
