Your talk about implied deaths made me think about deaths from Archie. Sally's death/coma-just doctor's reaction. Sonic's death-just some space adventures. First Eggman-died in a flash of light. Turtle guy(forgot the name)-died in a flash of light. Hershey the cat-just some dust, some fans still don't buy it. Antoine-was supposed to die but didn't. Dark legion-kicked out of the main universe and retconed. Post-reboot Nicole-reincarnation with no memories, I count this as death for now. This list is incomplete, you can help by expanding it.
The Deadly 6 do make good villains. They’re dangerous and capable threats to any location they arrive in, and would make their lost world entrance seem a little more intimidating…but I still can’t wait for someone to kick their butts again. Villains who you like to beat up are good. Sonic and Eggman’s fight is likely to keep them both busy, but I hope Eggman has a reaction in the plot soon since he was Zeti hunting beforehand (although I’m not sure what he’d have done since Zik was there and he seemed to only be in a machine) Gotta wait for the story to develop, but I’m eager for more as always
Sunset City would be the better target to hit before attacking Restoration HQ. It has more technology their powers can mess with then a place like Winterberg. Adding in the fact Zik witnessed Sonic and Eggman battling in Winterberg the Deadly Six would probably want to save getting revenge on both Sonic and Eggman for after they destroy the Restoration. Plus it was where Zeena was sent to attack during the metal virus saga and she swore that the people there would suffer for her indignity. Finally they could probably find a faster means of transportation to Restoration HQ then walking in Sunset City too.

Ian Flynn has done a great job making the Deadly Six more villainous than they were in Lost World, no wonder a handful of fans are starting to like the Zeti. Sonic’s 30th birthday year is getting more and more special.
The biggest point i saw was that the egg knight(the badnik zavok is controlling) now looks like its based on the sonic heroes design, rather than the sonic colors design, of the egg pawns. You can see it because it has banded arms and legs, along with a different body, feet and hands. P.S the badniks like the egg flapper and egg knight are normally based on the current version of the egg pawn and eggman rarely uses old designs. The sonic heroes egg pawn design was also used in the pre-reboot archie comics for the egg pawns aswell.

Yeah she deserves worse but it's a good thing she didn't have enough spotlight in this issue. Hope she stays as a Minor Villain because her character isn't improved.
So as I ones again have not much negative to say about this issue (but rather quite a few positive thoughts) would I like to start with the bad again so we can end of a high note. So I first of all have to hapere on the actual opening to the issue. As the random Eggman Vs Sonic Fight just feels so wrong given that the first 2 story arcs of the comic had a rather heavy focus on how much damage Eggman really caused. So Sonic just letting him get away and having a "lighthearted" fight just seams as way to soon. This is just like with Eggman's sudden infinite resources one of these things were Ian wrote something into the story (taking Eggman more serious especially on the KILL front or Eggman having a resource shortage) only for refusing to actually hold to it and just change things back to the status quo he wants. This is also notable in a different but far more sudle thing. Sonic having a communicators. the Restauration sticking around and being hosted in an underground base, Eggman has a real empire with lots of resources around the world, Sonic just attacking a random Eggman facility. Is it just me or doesn't this just scream ARCHIE SONIC!!! Because it certainly feels to me like Ian tries to recreate the dynamic he is used to from his days writing both for Archie as well as for his fan comic Sonic other m. And two more tiny thing the Chaotic weren't really at fault for the end of the old Restauration base it was really all about that Monkey that against all logic manged to sneak in (as Charmy wouldn't escape up until Monkey dude already stated to infect people) And as the second point given how strong Zommon actually is how could a wooden cage even hold him (nether mind the question why he was even still in that town rather than like Zavok being transported to a high security prison. Now were I have the bad behind me lets start with the best think about this story. The fact that we turn the Deadly 6 from indescribably boring Bowser and Koperlings knock-offs into some proper 80s action cartoon bad guys that are evil for evil sake and are 100% invested in causing as much suffering as possible. This is perhaps not any more deep in theory but its so much more entertaining seeing the villains try to figure out how to inflict the most pain for there own joy than them just doing it because the plot says that have to do it. I especially like how Zik is really played properly as the inverse of the wise mentor troupe (as he was because of this already the most "original" of the deathly 6) being completely the bad guy that is disappointed in his pupil for not being efficient enough in there evil plans. While Zommon is still a weak character through and through and Zor and Zenna didn't have much of a character here so does this new direction for them at least let me hope that when there hopefully get more of a character driven role in the rest of the story it will also be a improvement over what we had so far. So lets all hope that it aren't gonna end like with Bad Guy's were Ian at the last possible moment derailed the Zavok Hype-Train for his Platypus and by doing so also crashed the whole story into a brick wall. Also nice to see that Ian remembers that Wispons are a thing (I know there were also in Bad guys its just a joke on how there were so totally not present for the Metal Virus arc for no given reason other than it originally being a Archie Sonic story that obviously would have had to wispons)
yea, the beginning of the comic is definitely weird, specially with how eggman just now remembers that the zeti are a threat. although, to be fair, i highly doubt the zeti could've made it through eggman's physics-manipulating base thing from the last story arc, so maybe that's why he didn't feel the need to search for the zeti, but now that he doesn't have that anymore, the zeti now have higher priority. about sonic's wrist communicator, to be fair, i always felt the wrist communicator should've been something that always appeared in the games but for some freakin' reason never did, i mean, come on! in the adventure games he always had something on his wrists. so what you're saying is, gemerl (the guy who can literally scan zombots) was the one responsible for the previous base's destruction, got it. lowkey was hoping zavok to have a speech for all his teammates. for zor: "you are zeti! you are off the deadly six! you do not wallow in your own misery! rather, you cause as much misery to others as possible!" for zeena: "you are zeti! you are off the deadly six! you don't make yourself more attractive, rather you enforce your vision of beauty upon this world, by any means necessary!." for zik: "you are zeti! you are off the deadly six! you don't feel old, you make everyone else feel old with your highly athletic jumps and flipping!" joking aside, it's a good thing ian didn't drag this out more than he needed to. i will always find it funny how the cube wispon could've absolutely wrecked that story-arc.
@@alimowla3204 Well I totally forgot how out of nowhere Eggman's knowledge about the Zeti was. and this also means that Eggman invented and build an alternative reality generation machines in which he dictates the physical laws that is also hugged up to his sweet gaming setup, 3 band new Egg Vipers, A whole city filled with dummies and a machine that automatically creates new Badnik variants all with in a few days at most while also supposedly having right after the Metal Virus arc to struggle with resource shortages and by the Zeti Brocken bases. It also means that the Restauration works to fast that aall damage from the last 2 world ending wars were also fixed in days. I seriously have to question if Ian, Evan or any of the books editors even for a second thought about the ridicules implication there messed writing and approval of such cause? And if I'm being honest could I also have criticized Zazz just being kicked out rather than being thrown into a prison given that all of these cities are in contact with the Restauration which did through Zavok into jail. Or why Eggman would use a Robot while searching for the electromagnetic fields controlling Zeti of the Deadly 6 (and even assuming he was smart enough to use one with the manet security field that T-Rex bot in Bad Guy's had why would he use a projectile based on when he goes after Zik the one that has minor psychokinesis on his ability list. So I could have been far more critical but I wanted to be a bit nicer. I totally get your point about the wrist things (even through outside of Forces is this usually only an issue in Super Fights as in Heroes, Shadow and 06 when someone talks he is always there, in SA2 did Sonic have a Walky Talky with him as seen in the cut scene when Tails calls to tell Sonic Eggman has Amy at gun point and in Colors and Lost worlds is there new mid stage dialogue) And I properly wouldn't have an issue with it (after all its also a part of my favorite season of Sonic X) if it wouldn't just further this feeling that Ian tries to brute force the series to turn back into his familiar Freedom Fighters Again Eggman Empire story that he wrote for over 10 years in Fan fic and professional works alike (as even something like Sonic other M relayed on a Team "good guys" vs "Team Bad Guys" setting). Well its ether him or Amy for allowing as the leader to get things so messy that one Monkey could slip through the cracks (by the way this is a far bigger issue after the Big story from the second annual as in it did Gemerl directly tell big no entrance without scan first) I really like your speeches for Zenna and Zor it really fits there characters as well as Zavoks. But I thing for Master Zik should you use something less formulaic as one of the few interesting traits about the 6 ever since Lost Worlds even is that Zavok does have a lot of respect and admiration for his former Teacher. And I'm also glad that Ian doesn't drag it out again even if I would have liked to see how Zik got Zenna and Zor back on there feet. It really would have with makes it absents all the more ridicules (seriously have the damn cube just kill people to show it aren't an option unless you want to turn Sunset City into Genocide City). But than again the complete lack of Wisp outside of Whispers companions in that story was just weird (like if going Super can just fix a person than shouldn't using a Wisp Power by temororly fusing with them the Sonic Colors style not also work as a cure? Or couldn't the burst wisp with a big Burst not just toast all the Metal Virus nanobots? Never mind all the other things in lore that really should have wreaked the Metal Virus threat like the 10568765432123 Eggman bases to cure production, or like Clutch using old Eggman Robots to fight against the metal Virus, or the ability to use protective gear (especially after Vector using a shield against Charmy works in the annual just fine) I know I have gone way off topic but I just really really hate how badly written the Metal Virus arc is and how it insipide of this is by so many hold up as the greatest Sonic story ever and a perfect show that Dark Sonic stories can work when Shadow's game was less brocken on the story side than this stupid comic arc.

This comic is still lacking on proper worldbuilding and it's my main issue with it, I love the stories, the characters but the world itself hasn't really been established and it's still random structure at random place. Meh, the world building is weirdly the last thing I care about. I’m mostly in it for the characters, and the printed Sonic media is definitely doing more with the characters compared to most of the games lately.

Well I totally forgot how out of nowhere Eggman's knowledge about the Zeti was. and this also means that Eggman invented and build an alternative reality generation machines in which he dictates the physical laws that is also hugged up to his sweet gaming setup, 3 band new Egg Vipers, A whole city filled with dummies and a machine that automatically creates new Badnik variants all with in a few days at most while also supposedly having right after the Metal Virus arc to struggle with resource shortages and by the Zeti Brocken bases. It also means that the Restauration works to fast that aall damage from the last 2 world ending wars were also fixed in days. I seriously have to question if Ian, Evan or any of the books editors even for a second thought about the ridicules implication there messed writing and approval of such cause?
And if I'm being honest could I also have criticized Zazz just being kicked out rather than being thrown into a prison given that all of these cities are in contact with the Restauration which did through Zavok into jail.
Or why Eggman would use a Robot while searching for the electromagnetic fields controlling Zeti of the Deadly 6 (and even assuming he was smart enough to use one with the manet security field that T-Rex bot in Bad Guy's had why would he use a projectile based on when he goes after Zik the one that has minor psychokinesis on his ability list.

I totally get your point about the wrist things (even through outside of Forces is this usually only an issue in Super Fights as in Heroes, Shadow and 06 when someone talks he is always there, in SA2 did Sonic have a Walky Talky with him as seen in the cut scene when Tails calls to tell Sonic Eggman has Amy at gun point and in Colors and Lost worlds is there new mid stage dialogue) And I properly wouldn't have an issue with it (after all its also a part of my favorite season of Sonic X) if it wouldn't just further this feeling that Ian tries to brute force the series to turn back into his familiar Freedom Fighters Again Eggman Empire story that he wrote for over 10 years in Fan fic and professional works alike (as even something like Sonic other M relayed on a Team "good guys" vs "Team Bad Guys" setting).
Well its ether him or Amy for allowing as the leader to get things so messy that one Monkey could slip through the cracks (by the way this is a far bigger issue after the Big story from the second annual as in it did Gemerl directly tell big no entrance without scan first)
I really like your speeches for Zenna and Zor it really fits there characters as well as Zavoks.
But I thing for Master Zik should you use something less formulaic as one of the few interesting traits about the 6 ever since Lost Worlds even is that Zavok does have a lot of respect and admiration for his former Teacher.
And I'm also glad that Ian doesn't drag it out again even if I would have liked to see how Zik got Zenna and Zor back on there feet.
It really would have with makes it absents all the more ridicules (seriously have the damn cube just kill people to show it aren't an option unless you want to turn Sunset City into Genocide City). But than again the complete lack of Wisp outside of Whispers companions in that story was just weird (like if going Super can just fix a person than shouldn't using a Wisp Power by temororly fusing with them the Sonic Colors style not also work as a cure? Or couldn't the burst wisp with a big Burst not just toast all the Metal Virus nanobots? Never mind all the other things in lore that really should have wreaked the Metal Virus threat like the 10568765432123 Eggman bases to cure production, or like Clutch using old Eggman Robots to fight against the metal Virus, or the ability to use protective gear (especially after Vector using a shield against Charmy works in the annual just fine)
I know I have gone way off topic but I just really really hate how badly written the Metal Virus arc is and how it insipide of this is by so many hold up as the greatest Sonic story ever and a perfect show that Dark Sonic stories can work when Shadow's game was less brocken on the story side than this stupid comic arc.

as we all know, it is fact that eggman is a speedrun, but he's also a genius, therefore he can speedrun real life as well and that's why all these bases and creation happened in such a short time, trust me, this is the actual information.
also speaking of the restoration rebuilding the villages, i like to think they gave all the villagers drugs during the reconstruction, and that's why everyone is so calm after two world-devastating events happened.
well, as we saw, zsasz is too stupid to even catch fish, so the villagers didn't take him seriously.

also, funny fact, way back when, i used to think shadow's wrist cuffs doubled as a communicator, and that's why you hear eggman's voice alerting shadow about prison island blowing up, but apparently, i had a mandela effect or something which made me think shadow was staring at his wrist when eggman was talking, but then i checked those scenes again, and he doesn't do that, so for all we know eggman's voice was coming from shadow's arsch.
eh, i'll cut amy some slack since she was stressed out, i will not give the same benefit of the doubt for the thing that literally can't feel stress.

yea, zik's speech was intentionally half-ased, because i honestly couldn't think of anything for him, hence why it was more of a "haha, old." joke than an actual speech.

I mean sure I know Eggman is fast but even in video game land did he need months to recover from all the resources Metal Sonic wasted in Heroes.

a few days ago there were some set photos of james marsden at the beach, but i think twitter deleted those or something, anyway, i know what i saw, and i think that might be our confirmation about the whole "tom and his wife go to vacation." thing from the leaked script.
also there's a new actor joining the crew, shamar moore, but i don't think we know who he is playing, so, yea.
This comic is still lacking on proper worldbuilding and it's my main issue with it, I love the stories, the characters but the world itself hasn't really been established and it's still random structure at random place.
I don't know how much of it is mandated by SEGA but i do would like it to change
This series as a whole is boring. I just wish the character were interesting than just fight Eggman or other bad guys and also stop with the lackluster and stereotypes and makeing character stupid and out of character because of the plot.

Meh, the world building is weirdly the last thing I care about. I’m mostly in it for the characters, and the printed Sonic media is definitely doing more with the characters compared to most of the games lately.

This one sucked. I didn't like it. It was boring. I don't like the Deadly Six. They Suck! Also, it's obvious that Sheep Girl is a hypnotized sleeper agent working for Starline.

I despise these characters, I really do. They're not interesting, they're not threatening, they're designs don't belong in this franchise.
Ya the designs overall suck and have been pushing these characters nonstop but I do like where Ian is taking these characters.
I love their designs and I love the deadly six. Also they are threatening in the appearance they make in the idw and Archie comics. And they do belong in the franchise and I can’t wait to see them in the future and seeing them develop.
