    I received a sample of Voyage D'Hermes as a gift from a tourist in 2010. When I was 10 years old. I was too young then to remember the name. I tried to remember Voyage D'Hermes for 10 years and finally found it. This is for me. A perfume that takes you back to your childhood. Memories. I have been using it every season for 3 years. This and Sauvage elixir are the best perfumes for me.

    Tobacco Oud was the one that started me on my fragrance journey! The whiskey, tobacco, animalistic, dark scent was such a change for me that it was love at first sniff!

    Ganymede is love and a very good example of a designer that has niche quality perfumes. It will always be my favorite niche scent, second to none ozonic note and a timeless masterpiece

      Well said! Ganymede really is in a league of its own, straddling that fine line between designer appeal and niche quality, with a unique scent profile. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    My date night frags: TF “Tobacco Vanille” and HdP “Fidelis” , Signatures: Bortnikoff “Tabac Doré” and Orto Parisi “Terroni” , Fresh/Citrusy: Lorenzo Pazzaglia “Sex-Sea” and Dior “Homme Sport 2021” , Luxrury/Formal : Frederic Malle “The Moon” and Amouage “Opus XIV: Royal Tobacco” . Going out/Party frags: Nishane “Fan your Flames” and MFK “Grand Soir” and my “IDGAF” frags: Bortnikoff “Oud Maximus” and BeauFort London “Tonnerre” . I replaced Comforting and Classic selection with Party and IDGAF selection for my collection.

    The best advice i would say to beginners is to : buy within your means, and only stuff that moves you. There's no point collecting 100 bottles if they are just collecting dust and not all of them blow your mind. If it's just ''OKAY'' , that's not a reason enough to get a bottle. Better get decants, get used to a fragrance, if it moves you, get it...if don't, move on to another.

    My advice to friends who are just starting out in this hobby: Focus on finding a fragrance with a unique character. Choose a versatile scent suitable for all occasions-office, dates, formal or casual events, or special occasions. This strategy will help you save a lot of money and create a collection that truly reflects your personality.

    • @ScentedMoments

    That is a very well curated list. I am currently trying to simplify my collection and may consider the categories you have chosen. From my collection:

    Fresh Summer: Nobile 1942 Pontevecchio
    Lux/Formal: Profumo Di Firenze Cuoio
    Comforting/Snuggly: Bois 1920 Vetiver Ambrato or Rochas Moustache EDP

    Mitsouko for life !
    Thank you João, it's a solid list.
    I would only remove Ganymede from that list and put Bel Ami Vetiver or Chypre Palatin instead.
    Scent Of This Night :
    Veejaga - Hascish Homme (1983.)
    Music Of The Night :
    Carl Orff - Carmina Burana (1936.)
    Cheers from Niš...

    Obrigado again for the excellent list🙏!
    Lately i've taken a dive into the more "classic" French houses. Caron pour un homme le soir is the more superior version of Prada Luna Rossa black imo.
    From Guerlain i got L'instant and the OG L'homme Ideal. Both are absolute bangers and i'm considering making L'homme Ideal my signature for the colder weather😊

    • @ScentedMoments
      @ScentedMoments  Місяць тому +1

      Muito obrigado! I'm glad you enjoyed the list. Classic French houses truly have a timeless charm-Caron pour Un Homme Le Soir is a fantastic choice and I can see why you’d prefer it over Luna Rossa Black. Guerlain's L'Instant and L'Homme Idéal are absolute gems too! Making L'Homme Idéal your signature for the colder weather is a solid move. Enjoy those beautiful classics 😊👌

    Interlude might be the only fragrance I have in my collection that I regret buying! It is nice from an artistic perspective but rarely does it receive positive feedback - even from myself when I am wearing it. Smells like an old church. Black Iris and 53 are smoother but I will not be purchasing either. I can't think of a situation where I would wear them.

    • @ScentedMoments
      @ScentedMoments  Місяць тому

      I totally understand where you're coming from! Interlude can be quite challenging and polarizing. It’s definitely a bold statement piece. Black Iris and 53 are indeed smoother and more wearable, specially Black Iris, but I appreciate the daring side of the original Interlude even if it's not a daily wear. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

      @@ScentedMoments Yeah don't get me wrong, I love the smell its nothing that stinks or anything. But when I think of wearing it and how I want to smell its not one that I find an occasion that it is "appropriate." I keep saying that I will try to smell it far away from my nose maybe on my legs or lower chest because it is so loud. I don't mind challenging because I love Tobacco Oud and Tobacco Oud Intense (neither I thought were challenging lol! until I let less trained noses smell them).

      What an exciting occasion! For your dad’s wedding, I'd suggest something elegant yet memorable. A few options that come to mind are Maison Francis Kurkdjian Grand Soir or Amouage Jubilation XXV for their warm, inviting presence or Dior Homme (Original) for a confident and modern classic scent. Wishing your dad a beautiful wedding day!

    Good list overall. I mean dior homme is really polarising fragrance, because powdery iris is very hard to wear as a man. I personally would not wear iris fragrance as a signature.
    Elegant citrus summer fragrance: if i have to have a safe choice, i would go for xerjoff - reinessance, unsafe choice. Orto parisi bergamask. FM fragrances are absolutely overpriced nowadays and that is the only reason.
    Ambre narghuille is just a big NO in my opinion, and the reason is that there is so many options with that dna which can be found for better money nowadays and actually do perform way way better than Hermes. Those Hermenessence line is notorious for its performance and ridiculous price. Oajan or Ambre Tabac might be great alternatives. I would even go for Guerlain - Tobacco Honey if i want to have a bit funk.
    I am curious what you think about that

    • @ScentedMoments
      @ScentedMoments  Місяць тому +1

      Appreciate the thoughtful feedback! While I respect that Dior Homme isn't for everyone, I still find it to be a masterpiece of a fragrance that pushed the boundaries back then, making it a modern classic.
      Regarding Frederic Malle, I hear you on the pricing-it's definitely steep. That said, in a world where everything is getting pricier, I think the quality of Malle fragrances still stand out (for now, at least). Although, your suggestions are also great!
      On Ambre Narguilé, I'll have to disagree-it's a personal favorite the best in this genre for its warm and comforting profile. Oajan and Ambre Tabac are great suggestions for a similar vibe, though!
      Totally agree on Tobacco Honey-it’s got that bit of funk! Great fragrance.
