@@SeinarCustomShop ok wait I know that the retro Armorer had soft goods… the standard retro Mando had soft goods too?! I hate myself for going against my collecting ethic and caving buying a figure from the retro waves but I would have bought Mando first hands down if I paid closer attention but that’s how little I’ve paid attention to those figures. I assumed it was one of those ugly classic plastic capes.

@@irunatsharks9122 I owned like two vintage figs and they were second hand. Dengar and Hoth Luke. I was a POTF kid. But I’ll be honest I just used my gi joes with the Star Wars vehicles and the Star Wars figs were an afterthought for the most part.
Just ordered. I so much hope I won't get screwed with the paint apps. Price is crazy, though. 120 euro for 70 worth of figures. Only differences are paint apps on Mando, soft goods and exclusive head mold for the dark trooper and grogu, that was included in a regular-line Din Djarin.
Since I actually play with my figures with my 7 year old son, we LOVE any and all fire & blast effects. I really really don't want to buy this thing. God knows I don't need another Grogu, and I have several Dark Troopers on pre-order. But those fire effects and the Moff Gideon soft goods cape are looking pretty awesome.
Great review Tim and a cool set! I do like the improvements to Mando and Moff Gideon...the Dark Trooper is nice as well, even if a little scene specific. I agree that for the price of this set, an extra dark trooper head would've been nice.
Just picked up the boba throne room playset, the N1 Starfighter, the Slave 1, a ton of figures from the grand Inquisitor to RoTJ jabba goons to BOBF figures and now I need this! This diorama could be used for Inquisitors with Vader or Krennic with death troopers.
I had to come back and rewatch this review. I have somehow forgot that this Rescue Set was a cardboard play set. I was sure a plastic hallway set. Similar to, but different than the recent Shriek Hawk set. I must be losing my mind.
Nice review. I really like the new cape for the Mandalorian but I prefer the plastic cape for Moff Gideon. I'm not a fan of soft goods for action figures and I like them when they are really good like Mando's cape. The whistling birds look fantastic the mando fire looks very good and the fire for the dark trooper isn't very impressive I really want a Din with whisling birds, clean armor, rocker ankles and soft cape. The truth is that Hasbro set the standards very high with the new Vader and it's hard to impress us now :D

Great details I'm buying the Hot Toys Dark Trooper & when you where doing this I was thinking wow the details are spot on!! Fantastic figure Hasbro really knocked this one outta the park!! Moff Gideon with the soft goods is cool as well. Great set definitely picking this up!!

Yay, it was available locally. Could cancel my pulse order today. :) My mando came with the straightest visor printing you could get. So happy. Grabbed two extra dark troopers along.
Looking like a great set honestly, hoping I’ll be able to pick this up myself. Something tells me it’s likely to sell out fairly quickly tho 😬 will have to see if hasbro can keep on top of that Regardless I’m really happy that they’ve provided us with a soft goods variant of Din in a cheaper set than the razor crest, and it’s a nice bonus to get Gideon alongside that. I do think this set is still a bit overpriced for what you get. Another dark trooper would have been nice, especially if they included 2 docking stations. Feels a bit uneven now if you end up getting the standard dark trooper, as you won’t be able to put the battle damaged one in a station. One other thing I wish was included, was a back clip that allows Dins spear to be displayed on his back. I noticed the black series one included it, so it’s a shame it wasn’t in this
Thank you for getting this early ahead of the launch, and for the thorough review. The promotional images made Mando's beskar look rather lackluster, but seeing the figure in-hand, it looks very good. If the dark trooper had a swappable undamaged head, this would be a much easier decision, but based on this review I think I will have to order the set. I might try swapping mando's forearms with the maldo kreis figure though.

I love this box set and hope it will be available in quantities of the Emperor last year. I so much would love to get it before it sells out. My only irk are the gauntlets and I wish they were either interchangeable or differently designed. Does Morak Din Djarin head fit onto this Sculpt? Also hope that visor will be mostly straight this time, the misprint / skew on TVC basic figure is atrocious and took me months to find one with relatively straight visor print.
This is an amazing review and I can’t wait for mine. The paint, soft goods. Just not a fan of the oversized gauntlet but I’m extremely happy with the set. As for the missing logo it’s not a first. The droids TVC did not and the target 3packs did not if I remember. It’s odd and a bummer. I can see AFA giving issues because if they don’t see it they won’t post it for grading. Also o noticed the dark trooper does not have the glowing eyes it’s painted probably due to the battle damage. Still happy and can’t wait
saw this on budget sale around 55 Euros at EU Hasbro, 2 bad the robot is battle damaged without a replacement head ... but the package is just great, i may copy the backgrounds for a display

I really like the new Mando in this set, the paint apps look a bit better than the Razor Crest Mando to me, but shame about the oversized gauntlets because I do not care for fire effects at all so those giant holes would bother me.

Great video as always. Hasbro is in trouble. Their sales are plummeting. Pre-orders shipping VERY early as well which makes me wonder if they see something on the horizon, like a major financial collapse.
I picked up one of these after PulseCon (because I’m hopelessly a completionist), but dang at the price they charged it’s criminal and I’m full of regret. $70 for 3 figures is ridiculous and even more expensive than Black Series figures. What would’ve justified that cost is actually plastic background panels to complete the scene instead of throwaway cardboard packaging images that look worthless once the box is opened. So overall I’m disappointed with the quantity based on price. The figures themselves are nicely done, and the flame affects and battle damage to the Dark Trooper are unique enough to justify it being a PulseCon exclusive. That said, I’m keeping mine mint in box as that’s the only way I can justify the costs. The lack of actual background panels make displaying the figures loose useless. Appreciate the thorough review. It helped with my decision to keep everything in-box, unless of course it arrives damaged (like 100% of the exclusives I get from Walmart…🤦🏻♂️).

I think the little end of the spear is suppose to go in the hole of Din Djarins left gauntlet? To fill in the spot of his whistling birds when he's not shooting them.

120 sterling on hasbro UK, absolute rip off for 3 figures. Should have been 50 sterling max.

In my personal opinion this action figure set is worth a maximum of $50. I will pass on paying $70. I shall spend my money on fair bargains.

I saw this online locally for 130, import stock. I am tempted to buy it, but in the end, it is just a set of "re-issued" figures.

Dark Trooper's gun i think is based on the Franchi Spaz shotgun the Terminator carried in 1984

armor is same silver, its mostly the snow effect that light it up

Hi, on the Hasbro Press release this set is listed as $74.99 which is about £67.00, but on the UK's Hasbro Pulse website the price is £112.99! - A £46.00 mark up. I've contacted Hasbro to see if this is yet another SW prcing error or if they are trying to fleece people out of their money...
